I am REALLY suprised that not everyone on the planet isn't in love with this band.. I mean, Tool is phenomenal on so many levels.. no band that I can think of EVER could EVER even breath the air Tool breathes.. TOOL!! YOU ROCK!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING SO AWESOME!!!
wow, im not sure if id seen this before, but the quality was amazing, what a fantastic song and album - i wish there was more quality music out there, so i dont have to keep listening to tool all the time, i think it has taken over my brain
just because adam doesnt have any solo's does not mean he isnt creative. hes an improviser guitarist and a damn good one.does he not make Tool's music trippy and heavy at the same time? hes an incredible guitarist. who needs solo's anyways?tool works great as a team and can make incredible music without guitar solo's.hes underrated for sure.every member of Tool are very creative and talented.
That is EXACTLY what tool is. Maynard, adam, danny, and justin don't give a fuck if you think you know what they are writing about. Tool is about deriving your own personal meaning from their music and gaining knowledge and wisdom from it.
That bass player is amazing...I went out and got the tab for this song on bass, saw the intro and thought "oh, this won't be so bad". Yeah, uh...it got a lot more hardcore REAL fast. 8)
those guys really prove their virtuosity and ingenuity by every song they write and play. and that you hardly can see them proves that they just concentrate 100% on playing and hence doing great music. Conclusion: Tool are making the best music i've ever heard
Tool is such an amazing band. They are the best thing live and there is no such thing as a bad tool song. Not many bands live up to that. I wish I could have seen their lateralus tour. I love this song especially live.
When Maynard was using that crazy vocal-box effect-thing that sits on his chest, at the show I saw, it shook absolutely EVERYTHING in the place. My lungs were reverberating in my ribs. 'Twas great.
I have a friend who hates Tool, he actually prefers slipknot or something like cradle of filth, i understand that different people have different taste but seriously how can he hate Tool? They are my favorite band and i love them!
dude the guitar parts aren't easy. adam puts so much emotion into the sound his guitar makes. also yeah it may be easy to mimic or cover but the hard part is conceiving this riff from scratch, and trying to make the sound fit perfectly with what the other instruments are playing. why do you think they take 5 years between every new album?
Music is about expression, and I think that SlipknoT does a good job of expressing itself as a whole. Personally, my tastes in music range from Simon and Garfunkel, to SlipknoT, to Tool, to The Beatles, and many other completely different bands. Tool is definitely one of my favorite bands at the moment, and will be for a long time. Much can be learned from these guys. =)
yea i tried conjuring dark spirits with my drum set once but its a 500 buck mapex POS covered in duct tape and danny carey is the best drummer in the world today
Since when does playing a solo make a guitarist good? You find me a guitarist that plays solo's all day, and I wouldn't be impressed. Good for him. It's the creativity that seperates Adam from the rest of the herd. Maynard's voice isn't that unique, but the way he presents it is. Are you telling me that the 23 second long scream in this song isn't impressive? Not many people in metal can get past 10 seconds. Don't hate on Tool because you haven't polished your thrid eye.
Your taking your Personal Music Experience as an opinion on the bands Guitar and Vocal Performances?. Your semi right about the Bass There. but if you look up guitar tabs for there songs their not as "easy" as you think it is. Tool and APC is not just simply written alot more effort goes into everything they do.
@heavymetalfan90s you are deffinately missing out ive seen tool 6 times in concert and its the best act ive ever seen and ive seen alot they topped slayer and pantera together lol
I believe it to be far diffrent. More of a literal term. Think about the lyrics in order. " Wear the grudge like a crown of negativity, calculate what we will, will not tolerate, desperate to control, all and everything, unable to forgive this scarlet leterman. It's more literal than you think
this is one of their nicest songs. Most of their other ones just get you pissed off and depressed and stuff. But this one, I love it, makes you happy. Why is this called the Grudge anyway lol.
Awesome. Can I ask why almost every cameraman chose to focus on Maynard during the era? The who spectrum of the stage set up is much more interesting than a mostly black screen.... Sorry, just saying...
Well. this video has a low audio quality and therefore the part that you like the most sounds here like crap, but I've found a vid with better quality and you're right that the ending is awesome to. Yet I do still think that the best part is at 4:35 'cause you here some awesome drumming from Danney and it has some good well expressed vocals...
@MoSouthern11 I can see your point of view if you saw them after 10,000 Days came out, and Maynard seemed a little lacking. I still love them, but he is out of breath a lot sometimes. He may have pushed his voice a little too much especially in this song, and tries to hold long screams in a lot of them.
It was a joke. I was saying "Who's Danny Carey" as in who is he compared to Maynard? Implying that Maynard > Carey. I know Carey is the drummer. Learn to take a joke bro.
Ok I could analyze the lyrics if I felt like it, but just listening to this song just doesn't give me the expected emotions I expect from listening their other songs like Stinkfist, Prison Sex or Eulegy. That's all I'm saying. This song is just different, that's all.
I am REALLY suprised that not everyone on the planet isn't in love with this band.. I mean, Tool is phenomenal on so many levels.. no band that I can think of EVER could EVER even breath the air Tool breathes.. TOOL!! YOU ROCK!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING SO AWESOME!!!
the head shaking on the screen while he screams is so perfect!
Honestly, Maynard held the scream at the end longer than I thought he would. Tool look absolutely brilliant live.
wow, im not sure if id seen this before, but the quality was amazing, what a fantastic song and album - i wish there was more quality music out there, so i dont have to keep listening to tool all the time, i think it has taken over my brain
dude, your crazy, they are the best live band ive ever seen in my life
tool never ceases to impresses. FLAWLESS live
Maynard is absolutly the man and The Grudge is very under-rated. This song rocks!!!
ahhhh...it's a splendid song....I love it...and maynard is....FANTASTICCCCC!!!!
just because adam doesnt have any solo's does not mean he isnt creative. hes an improviser guitarist and a damn good one.does he not make Tool's music trippy and heavy at the same time? hes an incredible guitarist. who needs solo's anyways?tool works great as a team and can make incredible music without guitar solo's.hes underrated for sure.every member of Tool are very creative and talented.

Only Maynard can scream a full 18 seconds and still sound like that!
adam's style is perfect for the rest of the band
those guys really prove their virtuosity and ingenuity by every song they write and play. and that you hardly can see them proves that they just concentrate 100% on playing and hence doing great music. Conclusion: Tool are making the best music i've ever heard

Tool are fucking phenomenal. \m/
100% awesome. I love them. Best rock act of the last few years hands down
When Maynard was using that crazy vocal-box effect-thing that sits on his chest, at the show I saw, it shook absolutely EVERYTHING in the place. My lungs were reverberating in my ribs. 'Twas great.
I love Tool! Very good quality on this video, thank you archer1982!
Tool is not just about music..it is ART,SPIRITUALITY,EXPERIENCE rolled into one.Need I say more?
I have a friend who hates Tool, he actually prefers slipknot or something like cradle of filth, i understand that different people have different taste but seriously how can he hate Tool? They are my favorite band and i love them!
This is my favorite Tool song...thanks for sharing this!
I love the changes maynard made with the vocals to this live version. This song flows like a journey that builds up to the ultimate release at 7:53.
I think this is the best live recording of them I have seen on youtube!
@ZachValkyrie the difference is, Maynard can also summon fanboys.
Fucking god damned amazing... this video does them more justice than any other live video I've seen, honestly.
last scream from Maynard 00:17:77
one of my fav Tool songs
The Greatest Band Of All Time... Without Any Doubt Whatsoever... Maynard is the GOAT
dude the guitar parts aren't easy. adam puts so much emotion into the sound his guitar makes. also yeah it may be easy to mimic or cover but the hard part is conceiving this riff from scratch, and trying to make the sound fit perfectly with what the other instruments are playing. why do you think they take 5 years between every new album?

Holy shit..they're so Amazing! Hope they come once again in Italy!
I came here just to settle this debate on weather Maynard could really do the part at 8:00
one of the greatests posts on youtube!
Possibly the best video on youtube.
one of the best live bands i have ever seen, download '06. Transcended human form into something else, into truth.
"tool is one of the few bands that is better live than on cd"
You are sure, they are one of the best bands live.
epic video...really like the vhs feel to it lol...wish there was a little more of the crowd cheering at the end
The sound carey's drums make at 5:32 is just. GOD DAMN!
yea i tried conjuring dark spirits with my drum set once but its a 500 buck mapex POS covered in duct tape and danny carey is the best drummer in the world today
I have 1 thing to say, Maynard is god. That is all.
Magic... This band, this song, especially this video gets me high... When I'm already high it turns me in ULTRASUPERHIGH
thank god for mezcaline and music like this.
best grudge bootleg so far...amazing!
Danny Carey Claims to have invented a drumming technique which can summon forth Demons.
Big deal, Maynard can do the same thing with his voice!
I am surprised I thought I wouldn't like this.
Wow. It's as if a part of me has been awakened.
great video. amazing.
I still believe this is tool's best ever song.
i just got chills
I agree completely with that statment. Danny is the man
I respect all opinions (especially Tool fans) but the best part of this song is ABSOLUTELY the ending!! =) 8:51
chills!
amazin song :D cheers dude
18 people need to let go.
Let go. LET GO LET GO LET GO
dam is it just me or did maynard sing his ass of in this vid?
Since when does playing a solo make a guitarist good? You find me a guitarist that plays solo's all day, and I wouldn't be impressed. Good for him. It's the creativity that seperates Adam from the rest of the herd.

clutch it like a corner stone... sometimes I almost cry when I sing this song.
Totally agree... Very underrated, I can't understand it.
I just discovered this song. Shit is tight.
4:35 starts the best part of the song in my opinion...
Yes they are, but who are you to wave your finger at him?
Divin!
Maynard is in his fucking prime all the time, and this is the shit!
The Lateralus tour. Epic.
Your taking your Personal Music Experience as an opinion on the bands Guitar and Vocal Performances?. @nuke97 Yep, aint gettin that one again :P Seen em 3 times, and the best hands down was Lateralus tour.
probly the coolest tool song. pretty good performance despite the poor quality :D
Anybody notice Adam Jones? Is he in his pajamas?! 5:18
I believe it to be far diffrent. More of a literal term. Think about the lyrics in order. " Wear the grudge like a crown of negativity, calculate what we will, will not tolerate, desperate to control, all and everything, unable to forgive this scarlet leterman. It's more literal than you think
@archer1982 Danny has this weird motion... He goes in really fast and hits them really slowly and deliberately. Like you see him brake his hand.
Awesome band, awesome song.
Listen to Jon Hill's drum cover of this on my channel!!!
@booyah719 were* wearing the grudge like a crown ;D
way better than the studio version
this is one of their nicest songs. Most of their other ones just get you pissed off and depressed and stuff. But this one, I love it, makes you happy. Why is this called the Grudge anyway lol.
@MrMasticater Haha i ment 3. Didn't mean 13.
@archer1982 it's not polite to stare. hahahahaha I hear ya!

7:50 fuck yeah
your skull could break down a wall my friend
17 people weren't wearing the grudge like a crown :(
Awesome. Can I ask why almost every cameraman chose to focus on Maynard during the era? The who spectrum of the stage set up is much more interesting than a mostly black screen.... Sorry, just saying...
LMAO exactly

@PlanckEp0ch What is a "Deon?"
... and can I use it as a band name?
@MoSouthern11 I can see your point of view if you saw them after 10,000 Days came out, and Maynard seemed a little lacking. I still love them, but he is out of breath a lot sometimes. He may have pushed his voice a little too much especially in this song, and tries to hold long screams in a lot of them.

EVERYONE POINT AT THIS KID
POINT AND LAUGH
I thought I heard somewhere that they called Tool 'Munge'.. whatever that means..
It was a joke. I was saying "Who's Danny Carey" as in who is he compared to Maynard? Implying that Maynard > Carey. I know Carey is the drummer. Learn to take a joke bro.
now you are in love with them?
7:53 ftw
anyone notice this was 13 days after 9/11?
Ok I could analyze the lyrics if I felt like it, but just listening to this song just doesn't give me the expected emotions I expect from listening their other songs like Stinkfist, Prison Sex or Eulegy. That's all I'm saying. This song is just different, that's all.
