Ive been playing chess for 30+ years and never seen anything like your game with the checkmate with the Knight after they queen!! also all your games are so instructive and please keep them coming!
If I got this position in a puzzle I would easily solve that. But in a real game IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE. That's an example of how one mistake can determine the game's result
This was my first real live stream that I've been able to watch. It was nice to interact with other plays and fans of the channel. I've mentioned that I have been thinking "What would Nelson do?" while playing. It's helped me a great deal. I was at 800 on Wednesday and climbed to 883 with 11 out of 12 wins. Far from Nelson's mastery but I think absorbing his skill and knowledge has paid off.I also beat my highest rated opponent who was at 975 yesterday. Sure, you 1500+s will laugh but I've not really played seriously until recently.
@@baileypeters6547 Maybe. That said, I just won a 61 move game with 3 mistakes, 8 blunders and 4 misses so I'm not quite ready for the prime time...that said, a win is a win.
When you said, "I don't care about the pawn", I thought, "Putin". But finally, I remembered your more valuable comment that sacrifice of a pawn is ok if it leads to significant advantage, as it did in this game. So, for the moment I will still hold to the idea that sacrifice of a pawn is ok if significant advantage is gained. By the way, I have benefited greatly from your "Breaking 1500" course, so thanks for that and these valuable UA-cam videos.
1:37:20 how that endgame is a result of overthinking. As a novice I would have instantly taken that Bishop. I was actually perplexed why you didn’t in the game, but then I also realized that the pawn would promote and you’d have no way to stop it. But I didn’t see the checkmate either! However I probably would gotten it by accident.
2:40:30 this is giving me an idea to speed up calculation some times. Cause I agree seeing that queen move was easy to see but with all the complications of the position it was hard to see and so here is my idea to simplify your calculation task. Ask yourself how many moves your attack requires to deliver checkmate. Then imagine what your opponent could do in that number of moves Cause I think if you were thinking like that you’d have considered okay what’s the easiest path for the queen to return to defending Now that’s also a good question to ask yourself anyway because the queen being able to come into the defense seems to often fizzle out these quick attacks. I know this wouldn’t be the most accurate way to calculate but I think practically it can speed things up in a very complicated position. But it was just a random idea maybe it’s stupid lol
1:34:14 My 900 ELO mind would have just said: "look a free bishop" and just take it without even thinking about the pawn becoming a queen 😂 Obviously I would have missed the mate after that 😢
Most of us aspirate at least once a week. It's usually pretty minor, but can lead to pneumonia. It's important that you let you body do what it needs to . . . Cough! Just cough. Don't try holding it in, don't be coy, just cough. Better for your lungs, in the end.
Cooking with gas: good (As in natural gas in a stove) Cooking with gasoline: bad (As in explosion) Just FYI. Love these videos where you share your thoughts
Dear Nelson, medicine you take may be the reason of your cough. If it is the Ramiprilum, change it to other. Thank you for Your great work in teaching us how to play chess. All my best wishes to you. Best regards Jack
It's probably because of his mind set. He thought that he was losing, and he didn't find that move because of that. Although if I would have played against this person GMDannyShapiro the game would probably even end in the middlegame
I hear you clearing your throat quite a bit - not just on this video, but others, too. Do you ever have trouble swallowing? You might have GERD or something. I do.
BIG fan of Nelson and his great instructional videos but the indecision and time wasting gets me screaming "just make a move before you run out of time"!!!!!! Very frustrating as I want you to hold-on to your 2300 ELO rating.
9:36 what if instead of capturing bishop sacrificing your rook you played your light bishop to e6 bishop takes you takes back with pawn then his rook checks you on d7 you move and finally play your rook to e1 checks him and he is gone 😅😅 Edit :- If any corrections comment back
Keep making these thinking out loud videos ..it helped me go from 1100 to 1400 rating ....thank you
yeah same i started think faster so happy right now

when you are about to make a blunder my heart screams no no no.
Watching the catch up of the " poetic" mate ( saw it live ) it really was quite incredible as a real chess game !!
Watch these in the morning literally can’t sleep.
Damn he was on fire this episode🔥
51:40 “choke counterattack” by the opponent. Bravo Nelson you handled it perfectly.
I felt like i was waiting a whole week to for you to drop some new content
1:33:40 Reaction 😆

@@chess26622 That match was crazy! I did not see the checkmate at first!
Legend has it he's still coughing to this day
Breaking 1500 is amazing thank you so very much
GREAT games and commentary!! Thanks Nelson

11 out of 12 in equally ranked elo is pretty great! I doubt many people are doing that, great work. 1000 coming soon!

Your video length and uplaod frequency has got me exclusively watching Chess Vibes for the past few weeks. Not complaining!
i am slowly learning
What an amazing start
I remember you playing GM danny Shapiro last time you streamed
he played against him a couple of times
achieved 1000 rating after watching your chess concept guide! thankyou so much!
Congrats on 2300! Great stream!
These vides have really helped me.
these videos helped me lot now just went from 800 to 1200 in 3 days and i cant stop winning🤩🤩🤩🤩
Wow that would have been awesome
Your videos help a lot thanks
Hi Nelson, would you get more rating a win if you changed your settings to +/- 100 or would that make it harder to find an opponent to play?
thank you so much nelson I was stuck at 1100 but after I Started watching your vodeos I reaches an ELO of 1400

2:00:00 Wow the UK No1 tennis champion is great a chess.
What a sick almost checkmate in that game with Shapiro. Never saw it

Great Discovery. Me too.
That sapiro game was one of the craziest game i have ever watched
You should invite Danny to a live stream. I always enjoy your games
original ricola cough drops are money 👌🏼
Hey Nelson. What does the phrase "cooking rice” refer to in some of your games?
Love ur content make me learn how to play chess, current rank 700 will try 1000 end of the yr lets see
At 1:32:32 I thought you were talking about where to put your knight for a checkmate, but you were looking at where black could go.
20:31 white didn’t have to take. If king just sidesteps and bishop takes rook, then knight takes queen?
2:40:30 this is giving me an idea to speed up calculation some times. Cause I agree seeing that queen move was easy to see but with all the complications of the position it was hard to see and so here is my idea to simplify your calculation task.

2:27:00 if knight E4 you trap the queen with bishop B5.
Nelson what is your stream schedule?
Thanks

Nelson you helped me to go from 1000 to 1400 and I have my own you tube channel

how does he draw the arrows on the board while streaming does anyone know?
Love from Pakistan❤
1:40:44 is so funny, also evidence that pattern recognition is huge for chess 😂
12:14 did Nelson miss Nc4+ forking the rook?
The knight is pinned, unfortunately ((
Déjà vu at 1:07:11. I'm sure I've seen you analyse this position before, no?
Now i'm going to describe how i think....
And that's it.
Because he doesn't 😂😂😂 Just club level play.
How do u record these games I tried but the screen went black
2:53:12 maybe you could have taken with Qxd3 with the idea that Rd1 does not overload the queen since Rxc1 pins the rook
59:37 you couldve played Bc5 because if he takes the bishop you take his queen
thala for a reason-Nelson sir like cricket legend MS Dhoni
but with extreme chess skills be like
You are genius and too fast, too accurate. Lovely ❤
You'll find a supremely elegant position at 1:33:10. 👍😃♥️
Your "hmmmm" reminds me of Siegmeyer of Catarina!
Haha!
At 3:07 wouldn’t be5xnc3 first have been better tripling the opponents pawns with check

He pulled the pipe gambit
7:21 why not check first and then take please reply anyone
@2:20:10 ive been seeing black play an early a6 to prevent it because Bb5 is so annoying
3rd game felt like a rice cokker to me.
1:36:36
51:12 Something went where it wasn't supposed to go. (c) Nelson 2024
1:34:46 probably Nxb1 a2 Nc3 a1Q Nd5++ or they move king and lose by not owning a horse
i have that same cough pretty sure laryngitis or bronchitis is going around
51:11 that's what she said!
You are a funny man
1:20:34 Why didn't he take the bishop instead?
super entertaining games really
I believe people who cook with gas are usually using propane and not gasoline. 😂
❤ Brilliant commentary 👏 Please consider a checkmate speed run like my Monte Carlo Speed run to 365 checkmates on UA-cam ... very exciting ❤
You only had 29 sec on the board unfortunately on that knight mate
1:36:00 I think if you had more than 29 seconds left you would of found that for sure 😭
It's probably because of his mind set. He thought that he was losing, and he didn't find that move because of that. Although if I would have played against this person GMDannyShapiro the game would probably even end in the middlegame
7:28 why no check ? No castling for opponent
White would just bring the king up and connect rooks and since it's approaching endgame an active king is more important than castling rights
@@N90-c8y Sure, but now the King is protected on the file by double rooks where he would have had to come off the file and been more vunerable
1:03:05 i think the opponent here was cheating
I've played against this person two times: one time I won, one time I lost. I don't think he's cheating
44:15 TAL
Be careful not to choke on your aspirations :P
Why are you always coughing Nelson? 😅
Mans was sick or something
You are better than Levy.
I liked everyone 's comment ....you are welcome
Yeah, that person GMDannyShappiro appears on your every stream, and most of times you lose to him, Nelson
That's his arch nemesis
@@maximos905 yeah, if Nelson skipped/abandoned his games against GMDannyShappiro, he would save so much rating
Gonna have knightmares 1:40:13
Movie with +2 hours .... toooo long and boring
Nelson playing chess for +3 hours .... I'M IN BABY
Game 2 opponent had 12 Great moves? That's suspect af
knightmare
You should really focus on learning only 4 openings for both colors. It is when you try something you dont k ow you lose.
❤
game aborted. that guy saw nelsi and said oh hell nah im not getting clipped on 😂
good to see the old KID in action again
45:30 you had a free knight.. take it with rook, bishop is pinned, and if queen trades, you take back with the rook
U crazy? Look at it again
haha you're always dying in your streams. Be careful!
getting aborted on the first game is a Chess Vibes elo climb classic
I hear you clearing your throat quite a bit - not just on this video, but others, too. Do you ever have trouble swallowing? You might have GERD or something. I do.

Love these videos, but he is one of the only youtubers that just leaves his stream for minutes on end in the middle of a video....
Cry
9:36 what if instead of capturing bishop sacrificing your rook you played your light bishop to e6 bishop takes you takes back with pawn then his rook checks you on d7 you move and finally play your rook to e1 checks him and he is gone 😅😅
