Spoilers lol. But yeah, I wish his opponent let him play it out because those were some beautiful tactics coming together. Honestly a really powerful example, even to low level players like me, of why letting the knight in can be such a devastating mistake.
Realy nice instructive points: 2:20:00 the power of double checks. 1:00:00 Descovery double attack for white. 1:00:45 pause for find mate in 2. 1:23:53 Find a way to keep pin and a counter attack on the potential pin to avoid loosing material.
Caught the tail end of your stream. I love watching you on UA-cam. You explain things really well. There are MANY great chess channels but to me, yours is the best. Thank you for doing what you do. Glad your health is improving. Prayers for you. (And I like your catch phrase (which slips my mind presently ))
It was a fork but sadly Nelson did not see it at all it’s a thing when players express their thought processes sometimes their mind is so made up on making a certain move they end up missing other options
Nelson - Your channel is terrific! Your voice is soothing and your instruction is phenomenal. Your calm demeanor is unprecedented. I love how you are so daring to sacrifice pieces. However, there are two suggestions that I would appreciate you considering. 1) when you pause, a lot of times you say "um" 2) you say "right?" a lot. As a person who struggles with OCD, I have trouble focusing on the game but instead I focus on when you're going to say "right" or "um" next. I want to reiterate that I love your channel.
youre explanations are what helped my chess thinking and my logical piece development. Also you dont just play open games, your positional chess diagnoses helped strengthen my tactics as well. Keep up the good work. Also I appreciate your transparency with loses really the most.
been watching the channel a long time (love all your content btw) and this is the best I've seen you play by far. Keep it up Nelson, you'll be at 2400 in no time.
I've never seen a double check like the one stockfish found at the end of the video. That was insane. That's the beauty of Chess is that there's always yet another bizarre position that will always surprise you even when you think you've seen everything possible.
He just missed the Fork all together is what happened instead he was worried about checkmate from the Queen Bishop Battery so he defended with the knight on h4 the knight fork was actually on e7
I don’t normally comment but in the first game you played Ng6, Qc6 then you played Nh4. Isn’t Nc6 just winning the queen? You played the sequence so fast so I’m not sure if I’m missing something.
I watched Nelson sometimes up to three hours a day on a catch-up process for years that I didn’t watch. have a question for someone to answer. What’s the concern about on the live stream the people he’s playing from his opponent watching him is there a way to block them?
46:27 u could have just taken the pawn on e4 with the knight then and the queen cant take back bc if it did u take the rook on f1 with a check and if the rook takes ull get a free queen
He missed it can’t play something if you don’t see it he kind of talked himself out of it so worried about an incoming checkmate he was on defense mode ( happens )
When you're playing, it's much harder to spot these as it seems to you "simple tactics". When you're playing you face so much pressure. Also makes sense what you're focused on. Nelson was focused on defending that checkmate threat, so he overlooked that tactic. Also makes sense that he was probably not warmed up. Just watch his last game. Although it was his opponent's blunder, that led him to defeat, that game still was incredible 🔥
have you watched the scc? speed chess championship? Carlsen and many other GMs where blitzing out whole games (blitz and bullet) with a accuracy over 95 percent.
EVERYONE!!! JUMP TO 2:20:17 FOR THE COOLEST CHECKMATE YOU’VE PROBABLY EVERY SEEN!!
Spoilers lol. But yeah, I wish his opponent let him play it out because those were some beautiful tactics coming together. Honestly a really powerful example, even to low level players like me, of why letting the knight in can be such a devastating mistake.
He could’ve promoted with literally any piece.. even a knight that would’ve done nothing but act as a wall.
@@sylentknyte you're not wrong, but having such a gem hidden 2.5 hours into a video where most people would miss it seems the bigger crime.
@@timm439 EXACTLY! My low-elo brain would have never missed that.

Youre my favorite chess streamer. Ive learned so much from you Thank you Nelson

The first game you missed a queen fork 😂
Yep I noticed that too
6:24 I was dying
@@Peterkringle that's why he didn't play over the game....lol
His whole focus was on the checkmate threat and defending it. I guess it did not register that it was forking with a check.
@@mariochamoun9235 that’s what I thought I saw too
At 2:26:00 even if you promoted to knight it’s still checkmate 😂 beautiful game I love chess for games like that. Great job Nelson!!!
6:20 wasn’t knight e7 a queen fork because of check?
Yes I saw that too
Yeah I was also confused

These "um" and "right?" are a bit annoying, but let them be the feature of this channel 😅

Dude! You were on fire! Your ability to visualize all the mates is amazing.
Nelson was on fire tonight!
At 6:25 could have played Nxe7 forking black’s king and queen.
Everyone is talking about the royal fork 😭
"What would stockfish do?"
Thats actually a good question, Nelson 😅

Yeee i noticed the fork too!!! It took 4 years but i finally found a better move than Nelson!!
Ne7 6:25
Crazy how I doubted this channel but here I am watching everyday now😂💪
So shocked you missed that Checkmate. Was shouting at the telly, 'Nelson, look out, you're about to get checkmated' I'm guessing you didn't hear me. 😂
Just love Your Channel
I was watching and at 6:24 when NG6 and QC6 isn't NE5 a fork with check? Am I missing something I don't understand why NH4?
That what i was thinking
He just missed the Fork all together is what happened instead he was worried about checkmate from the Queen Bishop Battery so he defended with the knight on h4 the knight fork was actually on e7
@ 06.00 , after Nxg6; Qc6?? White plays Nxe7+ winning the Black Queen. So, there's no need to fear check mate on g2.
First time here watching… Love Your Channel ..greetings from Berlin
"Ok, I take back what I said about them being a strong player."
Didn't expect these ice cold bars from Nelson haha.
5:12 i think Ne5 bc also threatens Ba4+ and discovered attack on the queen so if he castles just Nxg6 and Nxe7
as someone from nepal and a regular viewer i apologize on behalf of our grandmaster for that terrible play
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He played well, I think
You don’t represent the entirety of Nepal nor does that GM! No need to apologize 😄
1:24:33 what’s the issue with playing bf5 before nf5, setting up the discovery attack and possibly winning the rook if the queen didn’t move?
@1:20:00 North Macedonia is above South Macedonia.

What if the rooks trade 1st? Comes with check and the knight is lost
@@blue_red_screen that's true I didn't see it thanks
Yeah, the missed Queen fork on d7 was 🥶 Especially since Qc6 was mentioned before, Master Blunder ❤😂
Why you didn't go for Nxe7+ forking the king and queen..?
He missed it can’t play something if you don’t see it he kind of talked himself out of it so worried about an incoming checkmate he was on defense mode ( happens )
Isn't it ironic that in your last game you were playing Chessisfunforme and at 2:22:03 you said "This is why Chess is fun" 😂
That last game!
Knight fork ne7+ king and queen missed in first game.. am i missing something..
Also your not the only one who doesnt understand Hikaru's notation, hes so fast and with his premoves are so difficult to understand.
I have to recomment from the live chat. You got this nelson, as long as there isnt any rice cookers
Why too many ads?? almost 10 ads in 30 minutes
last game was wild
Ne7 instead of Nh4?
Thanks!
Thank you!
1:52:57 Rxd3 wins…
First game there was a knight fork you could have won the queen but still nice win gg
Instead of knight to b3… I would have sacrificed the bishop by moving it to b5. Trying to create a fork with the knight if black takes
At 17:42
Oh wait…. Maybe not
Missed the queen fork..
nice games thanks
You missed fork for Quueen
At 6:29 i died at that moment

fork😅
Obligatory UA-cam algorithm comment.
4:10 Ba4+
i saw that b6 bishop move !! i was screaming it to you , but you retreated 😅
Wait, he seriously missed a royal fork in the first game? I saw it as an 1100 before the knight move..
It’s a simple fork. If you really are an 1100, you should be seeing simple tactics like that.
