Opening 1: I disagree with Bc5 being an oversight because of d4. After d4, Black plays Qh4+ and White has to play Kf3, as after g3 (as in the mainline) fxg3, Kh2 Qxd4 follows. White will have to live with a very exposed king!
You're the best online chess teacher I know of. However, when running through some of the lines in Arena Chess with Stockfish 17, I noticed that some of the lines do not correspond to the best moves possible (eg. in your E4 & D4 opening videos). So are the variations you teach against the most common moves people make and not what is optimal? (I guess I answered my own question actually...)
Hi Igor, thanks for this video. I was quiet amazed with all opening lines and studied and learned them all yesterday evening to understand ever move. Looking forward to start your masterclass. Thanks for all the learning: you make it super fun to learn to understand chess!! Edit: but in reality 🤣🤣, I love it when you say it because in reality, opponent cannot do much 👌
After I watched this video and read your comment, I went and checked. Over my 2+ years of playing chess online (at a level below average, but nonetheless), I encountered only two "professional" Grob players, i.e. those who opened most of their games as White with 1. g4. And you know what? Not even once have either one of them faced 6... e5! Since, as I said, the level of these two players & their opponents was not very high (as well as mine), WR for White after 6. f3 was about 50% anyway. My point is - thank you for your informative comment and for sharing this knowledge with us, it is a great addition to Igor's video.
I actually play bayonet attack against caro with watch anything about it online ....(for the first time I see it in a video)Success rate is very good...
1. g4 d5 2. Bg2 Bxg4 3. c4 dc 4. Bxb7 Nd7 is in fact well-known to be miserable for White. It is a rather original position, but White will suffer forever and most likely lose in the end. That is not good chess
I guess it depends. I checked, and over my 2+ years of playing chess online, I have faced only two people who regularly played 1. g4 as White. Over 2k+ of their such games combined, they sometimes faced 4... Nd7 , took the rook anyway and continued with 6. f3. But not even once have either one of them faced the response 6... e5 which is suggested in another thread in the comments here. The level of these two players & their opponents was not very high, hence the WR for White was about 50% anyway. So you may be right, that is not good chess, yet sometimes it's good enough. On the other hand, I wouldn't have thought of playing Grob Attack myself, and Igor's video did not change my mind. However, it entertained me, but also it motivated me to check whether I know how to counter the Grob correctly. Your comment was another source of such inspiration, so - thank you as well!
@@wishkahzyricks for me, I was happy to find this line against Grob, because I like chaotic positions, and if it is 1 pawn up in computer eval, so much the better. I do lose an occasional blitz game with it, but no matter what the result, for many moves White serves as a punching bag with no real positional ideas except for bare survival

That Duras gambit variation was wild, a pretty epic trolling opening! Hadn't seen that one before, thanks!
the caro kann advance strat doesn't work on me because I just push c5 first then develop my bishop
The last one was just purely brilliant troll I love it 🤣
3:44 double horsey protection protocol
💀
As a caro -kann player 00:12 this is just some theory i remember some months before ( i start playing chess last year) 🤣🤣🤣🤣

ChatGTP suggests "knight fork defense" for attacking and defending a piece at the same time. Interesting question.

I've never seen an adequate answer to Bc5+ d4 Qh4+ (or Bc4+ d5 Qh5+ in the original Duras gambit)
3:44 im going with "multi purpose knight" (defend and attack)
Love ❤ the knight mare 😍 😊😅❤❤❤
Awesome! Yes do more!
6:32 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks Igor!!
i like the knightmare variation! the only way to keep harrasing away the enemy queen!
@14:54 uh oh spaghetti, it's checkmate for black's queen!
Great video
All 5 openings are interesting..
The 4th one attract my attention the most, I will try it as soon as possible
Thank you!
Those checkmates were so funny I couldn’t stop laughing 😂
Me 2😂😅

Best chess tutorial I've seen
I'll take "ridiculous chess openings" for $200
I like that Knightmare opening, good to see the mistake of taking the Queen too soon.
2:29 But what if Black knight goes to F2??
I guess that move with the nightmare would just have to be called a defensive attack 😅😂
how about double offensive defense !? ( 4:00 )
Pls make videos on accelerated dragon
You can also play Nf3 instead of Rg2
these are just silly. I love them!
The Grob line you showed has a flaw.
1. g4 d5 2. Bg2 Bxg4 3. c4 dxc4 4. Bxb7 Nd7 5. Bxa8 Qxa8 6. f3 e5
and black is better.

@wishkahzyricks
Your welcome. It's important to follow up a gambit with active play.
I was waited since morning

Bayonet attack aka early pawnstorms (bayonet is simply a knife that puts in front of bolt rifle like Arisaka)
12:39 this is disrespect
Duras Gambit = Drunken Master Kung Fu
Clearly I'm voting for ridiculous chess openings!
11:05 BONGCLOUD
