- In Part 1, Jason of Primal Outdoors and I travel after leaving Overland Expo West to a less traveled area near the Grand Canyon national park where we find a beautiful camp spot overlooking Navajo land and a tributary off of the Grand Canyon. David gets to see how his new camper handles off-road and enjoys the fast opening and closing of the Hatchet Overland Camper. Jason cooks up wild turkey he harvested only a couple weeks prior and David assists in the dinner supplying the pasta. Awesome setup! Simple and easy, love it. I'm a van lifer and unless I set up a side tarp, chair, table and outside kitchen, I can park and I'm ready to camp.
Thank you! Yeah, Jason will always have an advantage on me in that department as all of you van lifers do.. This is the best hybrid I have found that gives me the off-road I want with the comfort/speed (at least closer) to what you guys enjoy... Travel well!

Solid content as usual, David! That terrain is quite different from what we're used to out here in TN/GA/AL! You may, or may not recall, you and I met last May at Pandora's. I was the one with the new R1250GSA that had the challenge getting my phone, bike and headset working correctly with phone calls. Thanks for sharing another great adventure

Hello!
David… how do you open your tailgate from the inside. I can’t find anything on UA-cam.
Hatchets adds a pull strap that attaches to the tailgate that has paracord that goes under and attaches to the release inside the tailgate. Simple but effective solution. I will be making another video of my setup soon and will cover that in more detail..
