@@purwantiallan5089 Sorry, I'm not sure what you're asking me here. There are two main versions of the S1000 series, the R which is the super naked and the RR which is the superbike. The M1000RR is the M variant of the S1000RR.
The insane thing is, the M1000rr could probably do a rolling start in 1st at 50mph and go to 90mph before needing 2nd, based on my experience of older bikes like the GSXR hitting 70-80 in 1st.
Different motorbikes have different gear rations but the most common are the below: 1st gear goes up to 90km/h - 100km/h 2nd gear goes up to 160km/h - 180km/h 3rd gear goes up to 240km/h
@@ali-tal Literally no 1000cc superbike tops out at 100kph in 1st mate. Even the shortest geared superbikes will do 130 in first, the latest Ducati V4 does 170 in first, likewise the latest CBR. @@ali-tal Yeah that table and what you said makes no sense. Every 1000cc i know does at least 140kmh in first. My 2013 ZX10R does 160~. However launching it hard in first going lets say 90kmh is very difficult as it will just wheelie instantly. Go gentle and you lose speed. Second is best especially for those M1000RRs they have immense torque down low compared to for example the zx10r which rly rly needs the revs. Every 1000cc will wheelie even without dumping the clutch simply because of its power, hell most 600 will in first aswell. I can tell youve never rode one.
For anyone over a certain age, this is eye opening! Prior to about the year 2000-2010, cars were always faster around tracks, but hardly ever in a straight line. The fastest cars from 20 years ago were absolutely destroyed by bikes in a straight line. Times have really changed! Bikes have moved on a lot (the first R1 was much quicker than anything else in its day, and it "only" had 150bhp), but cars have moved on much more. Although I must say, standing starts are fairly unusual, and the second test from 50mph is more representative, in which case the bike is still faster.
Bikes are still faster (as the roll-on race shows us) , its controlling the power at start that makes the difference. As you already said, 150hp was enough with probably less weight than the bikes today. Update: I just checked a stock Hayabusa measured with Dragy hardware. Even with more weight but less wheely-ing at start. Of course still 2 wheels vs 4 which is a big disadvantage. It does 9,76s 1/4 mile and 2.8s 0-100. Not bad for a €20k bike. 😉
Loved the video. No doubt in my mind, the results exactly as expected. Car can put power down from a dig, bike has roll on advantage. 4contact patches and more weight gave car advantage in stopping, but wow Chris did a fantastic job of getting so close. He is a hero with mega balls.
More weight is not good for breaking. More weight means higher inertia. The difference on braking is again due to the amount of rubber on the car, vs the bike.
Bike launch control isn't like a car and is less effective. Any decent rider will go faster with it off. TCS on a bike cuts power too much. Wheelie control slows you down and saps power too. Launch control just holds rpm at a certain point and until a certain speed. You can be more consistent with it all on but won't get optimal times.
It may not sound like a 458 Speciale (nothing does, to be honest), but there is no denying that the SF90 is a drag race monster. Just what we expect from a car with more power than a LaFerrari. What a machine. (Although I still don't like the way it looks from the back)
There was a time I would have NEVER bet against a super bike racing a car! However this is not just “A” car, it’s a hypercar and it’s amazing the speed and power of these vehicles nowadays! Totally amazing! What great times we live in for car nuts!!
@@jozefjozefczyk3936 Correct. The SF90 would be a very cheap hypercar. :) but I kind of agree with ham fan58. SF90 performance is quite on the hypercar level.
To give an idea of how powerful the s1000rr is With an extended swingarm so it doesn’t wheelie and you can run full power 1/2 gears Stock bike can do 8.4 1/4 mile
The Ferrari is absolutely mental, I mean the performance itself is obscene but the fact it can change colours from the thumbnail to the video is just another level.
unfortunately there are literal acceleration maximums a bike can hit that a car can blast past... that is why drag-races between cars over a certain power to weight ratio will usually favor the car.. especially if it has four wheel drive.
You guys have to get your hands on a C8 Z06/Z07 package Corvette. This waiting is killing me because I want to see how it stacks up to all the European cars in it's price range.
1000cc motorcycles have been hovering around 10 second quarter miles for the last 20 years. Throwing more power at the them, just makes them harder to achieve faster times without strapping and/or extended swing arms.
Just want to say, thanks So much for showing the Speedo of the Ferrari. Absolutely AMAZING to watch those numbers fly. We’ve finally reached the point where cars are as fast as they were in Ridge Racer lol
@@okbyee69 A Nimac Revera has 1900hp and weighs 2150kg (so with a driver say 2200kg). That is a power/weight of 0.86hp/kg. Specs of Moto GP bikes are harder to find, but the latest weight around 155kg and make around 270hp (Ducati apparently have closer to 300hp). Giving them a power to weight ratio of 1.75hp/kg. With a 70hp rider that's a 270hp/225 or 1.2hp/kg. So a Moto GP bike will accelerate faster than a Nimac Revera. Just not from a dig (no traction). The top speeds of Moto GP are lower, around 360kmh, while the Revara claims to be a 400khm+ car. They both do 0-300kmh in 9.5 seconds from a dig. The insane thing is, the M1000rr could probably do a rolling start in 1st at 50mph and go to 90mph before needing 2nd, based on my experience of older bikes like the GSXR hitting 70-80 in 1st.
Different motorbikes have different gear rations but the most common are the below:
1st gear goes up to 90km/h - 100km/h
2nd gear goes up to 160km/h - 180km/h
3rd gear goes up to 240km/h
Probably would want to wheelie badly though I'd reckon
@@ali-tal Literally no 1000cc superbike tops out at 100kph in 1st mate. Even the shortest geared superbikes will do 130 in first, the latest Ducati V4 does 170 in first, likewise the latest CBR.
For most superbikes, each gear adds approx 30-35kph on top of the previous. The CBR RR-R is geared so long that it can do 300 in 4th.
@@dandylion1987 it wheelies when you leave the clutch very quickly or when you pull the handle rapidly.
Acceleration should be gentle in the beginning and then you rotate gracefully
@@ali-tal Yeah that table and what you said makes no sense. Every 1000cc i know does at least 140kmh in first. My 2013 ZX10R does 160~. However launching it hard in first going lets say 90kmh is very difficult as it will just wheelie instantly. Go gentle and you lose speed. Second is best especially for those M1000RRs they have immense torque down low compared to for example the zx10r which rly rly needs the revs. Every 1000cc will wheelie even without dumping the clutch simply because of its power, hell most 600 will in first aswell. I can tell youve never rode one.
Well done Chris, requires much bigger balls on a bike and some proper skills there! 👏
Chris nailed it again.
@@purwantiallan5089 should start roll race in 2nd gear from 50 mph it's not even close M1000RR will put 10 car lengths on SF90 or 765LT
I thought his balls were slowing him down because they dragged.
That SF-90's drag race performance is proper hypercar level..👌 That BMW superbike is pretty cool. Gr8 race..👏
Ian, have u watched TUN vs AUS lately? Australia leading 1-0.
@@purwantiallan5089 ⚽ BORING !!!
More weight is not good for breaking. More weight means higher inertia. The difference on braking is again due to the amount of rubber on the car, vs the bike.
Love the collaboration between these two channels
Imagine launching the bike better than the BMW system. That's a testament on how good the rider is.
Lul 😂 none of the professional use launch control
They launch without it
It's common to find electronic struggling with airtrip and other less than ideal surfaces.
It may not sound like a 458 Speciale (nothing does, to be honest), but there is no denying that the SF90 is a drag race monster. Just what we expect from a car with more power than a LaFerrari. What a machine. (Although I still don't like the way it looks from the back)

unfortunately there are literal acceleration maximums a bike can hit that a car can blast past... that is why drag-races between cars over a certain power to weight ratio will usually favor the car.. especially if it has four wheel drive.
