It’s time for another mega bike v car drag race!
Mat’s rolled up in his glorious Porsche 911 Turbo S, and he’s going head-to-head against a KTM Road Bike and an awesome Red Bull MotoGP bike!
So let’s see how these mega machines stack up. Starting with the Porsche, it’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that can deliver 650hp and 800Nm of torque. It also tips the scales at 1,640kg.
Alongside it, we have the KTM Road Bike. It’s a KTM Super Duke R 1290 Evo, which is good for around 185hp and 140Nm of torque. Naturally, it’s SO much lighter than the Porsche, with the bike & rider combining for around 250kg.
Then finally we have the MotoGP bike. It’s equipped with a 1-litre V4 that produces around 270hp and 120Nm of torque. The bike + the rider (the legend that is Dani Pedrosa, no less!) weighs in at around 200kg.

Seeing Dani is so awesome for any MotoGP fan out there. Really miss seeing him race; very few people understand the magic he pulled off on MotoGP bikes with his small stature, a true legend!
not a big fan of spanish bikers and Dani is the only one I like and respect for his clean riding, fair play and also the efforts he pulls each race to compete with his small body

I'm automatically clicking on a Mat Watson/CarWow video as soon as I see a video racing a MotoGP bike but knowing that they've partnered with Dani Pedrosi means my excitement level is as high as it can be.
Dani is a great sport apart from being an excellent racer. Short of Valentino Rossi doing these MotoGP drag races, there's no one else I'd like to see than Dani.
@@kato093 Do you know how many times he got injured? Do you know how many times he crashed on the race? He already break many bones before. That's the reason why he couldn't keep up in previous race. Don't look down on him if you never watch MotoGP
Of course Dani is gonna lose braking challenge because those brakes and tires really need to warm up to work properly. That's why they do warm up laps. I always loved watching him race. Great rider
A modern supercar will still out brake a bike by a little bit (as much as I hate to admit it). Cars have a much larger contact patch and the use of aerodynamic wings, ducts and diffusers is more advanced than bikes due to the money in the car industry being much larger.
Bikes will always be faster on the road in decent conditions due to them being much smaller, therefore having way more road to use. Aswel as it being much more common for a bike to have advanced training.
Yep brother the tyres and brakes need to warm up insane to deliver the performance which many don't understand about the carbon ceramic brakes and Racing slicks

Holy cow, only now do I actually realize just how quick those moto GP motorcycles are. Watching them race against each other on a track doesn’t give you that perspective! That 911 is rapid, but that GP bike is ludicrous 😵💫

Great race. Always good to see Dani. To be fair to the Moto GP bike, unless the brakes were changed for this challenge they're usually ceramic discs and pad compounds which work optimally when warmed up and resist fade during repeated and sustained use. Not at their best from cold.

That second launch from Dani is ridiculous. One wheel drive and 1250hp/tonne, near matching arguably the best AWD launch control system ever implemented into a road car off the line. What an absolute beast of a rider.

@@stanvanillo9831 I was referencing the launch conditions more than the vehicle, to say that he was launching 1750hp/tonne wouldn't be true because his own weight is nearly 40% on top of the bike's kerb weight, which obviously isn't the case with cars

What a awesome guy Dani is, sounded like he was genuinely having a fun day. That Porsche is fast as heck, and of course the Moto GP was always going to beat it but if you didn't know better you'd think Matt had stamped on the brakes the way the Moto GP just blasts past.
Matt, why do wanna go and remind a guy what he DIDN'T accomplish? Why not just "Dani Pedrosa...this guy has won more MOTGP races than 95% of all riders ever." Damn FINE career and great racer. 👍👍 He's won a hell of a lot more races than most guys that HAVE won championships? Yea it would pull your arms out of the sockets if you wasn't strong enough to hold on to it. When i was young i had a CR250R which was fast but i had a go on a proper racing CR500R and it really was hard to hold onto. After a 10 minute run on that bike it felt like my arms were an inch longer.

300 on a sport is quite comfortable, but anything over 200 on a naked is hectic. I doubt you've tried it yourself.

Those MotoGP bikes are incredible machines and it takes great skill to tame it. Dani is fantastic the way he handles it.

I'm a bike guy through and through tho it's amazing how fast cars are getting.
There was a time when almost no car could touch a bike. Now you have sports cars pushing 500-600 from the factory, super fast auto gearboxes and sophisticated launch systems that are very tuneable.
I have a 2015 R1. 200 crank hp and 190kg wet. I'm not even safe against many cars patrolling the mean streets these days😂
To be fair, with that R1 you're still quicker than easily over 95% of the vehicles on the road. Some of these newer cars do have absolutely mind blowing launches with their advanced launch controls, but with a rolling start the only thing quicker than you is 1000+ HP beasts.
To contextualize it a bit differently, consider that for 20K dollars/pounds you can get almost the same performance as spending 150-1million plus in a car. You don't need to sell your home and children to get performance that warps reality.
the bike in my picture was a 19 speedy 1050rs that i tunes to 193HP rubber to the road.
even i got roasted one night a couple years back by....what i discovered 5 minutes later a Ferrari La Fricken Ferrari!
Yeah 15 years ago this wouldn't happen. Cars are insanely fast these days. The KTM couldn't reel the Porsche in after the launch.
But to keep it real on the mean streets of the USA there are PLENTY of turbocharged/intercooled Hayabusas prowling the streets with 350-400 whp on low boost pump gas setups that can run deep 8s in quarter and blow away that moto gp bike or 99.9% of all cars while bowling in a straight line for

The work done by Dani at KTM is phenomenal, previously no one ever thought that KTM could win at several circuits and even compete in the world championship with a very well-established Factory.
Iv driven the Porsche 911 turbo and absolutely thrashed it, its an absolute wepon! , to see the bike just run away like that was mined blowing! I cant imagine what that feels like 😅 awesome 👍🏼
