`What to main in the War Within? Today we’re talking about what melee dps to play in War Within more specifically. I got 3 choices that made me consider switching my current main and I go over all the in’s and out’s of these specs to give solid arguments on why these should be options for you to pick! Until we finish a predictions war within melee dps tier list, we shall go more in-depth in specs to help you have a better informed decision!

At the end of the day, play whatever you enjoy (except rogue), they're all shaping up quite nicely (not rogue), so really you can't go wrong with any (not rogue) class.

Yeah play whatever you like and if it happens to be something non meta you will not be invited to groups to do the highest level content…
I’m playing Rogue for the same reason I played Paladin in vanilla. The armor looks cool as shit.

Easy choice, DK. Blood, UH, and Frost are all looking sick af. I had so much fun on the beta testing them.
How is the unholy ramp in TWW? It is horrid currently, to be pushing trillion GCDs before starting to dps

As a main ret, im enforced to deny any information given in this audiovisual piece. We are no good, we are doomed, we are 100% into the lower bracket in ST, AoE, raid, mythics, PvP, gold farming, transmog farming, farms farming and fishing. I encourage any Blizzard employee, as well as any World of Warcraft, Warcraft company, Activision and asociateds, to turn a deaf ear to the information providen in this video about ret paladins, and keep the actual plan of buff us even more. Can't decide between Ret and WW, both look amazing and they have awesome hero talents. Tough choice!
Go for niche. Retri is absolutely cliche. I feel if I put a 7 io kid to chose classes he will choose this. Plus WW has always been considered the funniest melee of the game

as a rogue main for many years, think its time for a change. The hero talents are so bland and so rng based(outlaw) doesn't excite me one bit.
Switching to dk for a season to see how it feels.

Same dude. I love my rogue but the hero talents are crap so I'm going to try DK for a season. Even if Blizzard fixes the mechanical issues the rogue hero talents are just boring compared to the other options out there. Here's hoping they get reworked in the .1 patch :)

Has anyone tried enhance in the beta? I really don't want to play around primordial wave again >.< I love the storm builds.
@@CreatorOfWrath Well, guess you can be happy, the Stormbringer build doesnt even use primordial wave anymore, or any fire ability for that matter, its just CL spam, Tempest, and... click what goes shiny

not sure dude, been watching some long time mains play feral on beta and they are clappin.. both m plus and raid. I dont like mentioning other youtubers or streams on others chan but forsure check out some vids on them.
Am I the only one who loves the fatebound coin mechanic? Got me leveling my rogue who’s been benched since BfA.
always been a warrior main and that won't change. will probably be a fury one trick since arms feels like ass tho
Fury is in saison 4 dragonflight trash and arms is BIS right now. I don't know about the war within tho

Always Holy Pally for me. We get the most abuse from the nerf bats - but every time i venture to a new class somehow i still come back to Hpal.

Geared up a few melee alts to farm transmog bullion and found that my fury warrior was absolutely so much fun! I considered moving it up to my main melee. I’ve been main ret paly for my melee for years.
When it comes to meta, for me, its always a case of if my class is in the meta, cool, if not, whatever so long as Im having fun or get to look good. I still like to see what is in style every now and then, but Im not going to play a class I hate just to do 3% more damage on a parse for content Im barely, if ever, gonna play.
For me that 3% isn't the issue, it's the rotations! Some rotations are far more pleasant to play than others.
@@hiddenflowerto That is a factor as well, I just lumped it in with being fun. Nothing sucks more than a rotation that feels horrible to do.

I was really leaning on frost or unholy DK. But now I see all this videos moving it down on recommendations.. now I’m unsure playing it over my Warrior or something else.

I believe i'm set with my warband as far as classes go:
- plate: blood/unholy DK (i'm considering pally though)
- mail: ele/resto shaman (main)
- leather - assassination rogue
- cloth - warlock (mostly becouse of the raid set)
I need to make up my mind what race-class combo i will go with.

Melee wise I’m leaning towards windwalker for the first time ever. But I got some strong contenders for ranged

Ret Pally and both DK specs are going to be strong, but everyone is going to be playing them. So finding a raid spot is going to be hard. Meanwhile WW Monk and (believe it or not) Enhance Shammy are both looking quite good. Enhance is probably the dark horse at the start of TWW, but getting Feral Lunge baseline really helps you stick on targets now.

I'll main hunter/survival spec for the 14th year in a row. Will alt a mage for the first time ever so I can still play some ranged. Very excited for this xpac!

Please branch out and try other classes and specs in the game, there's so much more than just hunter, you may find something else you love that's refreshing to use
I’ll be sticking with Ret, I’ve had a lot of fun on beta - loving the changes / theme they’ve implemented. I’m not a hardcore raider or high key pusher so Ret is perfect.
Ret should be on the range dps tier list :D coz after rework we rets are semi ranged dpses xD
I have mained an Unholy DK since Wrath and that isn't going to change in the next expansion.

Im either playing surv or frost dk. i can't main a healer as I might be moving across the country soon so dont want to play a pivotal class during progression

arms warrior is absolutely tragic. a spec with infinite potential design wise yet it's just boring 2 button spam in all content casino crits with no utility

since the rework ret is my new favorite class but with the rework for unholy i guess i will have to play both and see what i will main in the end
If they don't change some of the dungeon mechanics, the correct answer is none of them.
Sure would be nice if ranged got to be challenged for once.
Interesting, I felt better as a melee in the dungeons than ranged, let's see how things shape up!
Thinking mage or hunter is the only ranged playstyle smh, Lock, Shaman and Shadow still feel slow, Ret, Monk, and DK are really good right now :shrug:

@@m_rod9562 Destro actually has many buttons in its current iterration on beta you're using not only Chaos Bolt, but also Soulfire, Incin, Immol, Demonfire, Portal charges, Conflag, that's already 7 buttons at minimum in your rotation, include cd's and Cata etc and it's more - Destro definitely has some more brainpower to it now, it's not Hunter

Meta for mythic plus is and kinda always will be the same, mage, aug, and something to go with that comp, lock/shadow priest/ boomy, it will never change. The synergies are just too strong for melee to compete. Though a solid melee stack that synergies together Deffs have a place. Though ideally need to play in a group for this to work well and push decently high.

DH Fel hero talent tree does tank level damage it's like 40% behind Reaver
Stuck between my 5 main specs, enhanc, elemental, windwalker, survival, havoc.
I made a survival in mop remix for shits and giggles and honestly it’s all I want to play when I log in now. So fun!

currently i am playing some cata classic...that SV back then was so nice, how could they remove such a awesome playstyle?
I'm the kind of player who dont play only one class. This Addon, Elemental Shaman, MM Hunter, Retri Paladin and Evoker. With everyone i do a 3k+ Rio in M+, get the Elite PVP Armor and with my Shaman i get the Gladiator achivement and mount every season....
So after that hard time i talk with my Group that i play only 1 or 2 classes next addon... But know.... Fire Mage Looks amazing. WW Monk was my main in Shadowlands and know looks so much fun. Hunter rework is godlike and Survival Hunter looks giga fun to, Elemental Shaman looks like again like season 2 in df a more skill specc that i love to...
But dont forget the Devastation and Preservation Evoker... And the crazy comeback from the tripple S++++++ DMG Holy Paladin...

I really am considering WW Monk. My only issue is that EVERY EXPAC it starts super strong and then quickly taking a nose dive due to not scaling well with gear... ANY indications that it'll be different this expac?
They moved a chunk of the scaling to a Haste stat which now is not useless so it could fix scaling problems.

But in the end you could play both, why not :)
Unholy has been good forever and if arcane goes downhill tuning wise fire or frost will be busted.
I will stay with my rogue or unholy. Sub is go to for me now 😀 hope for some cool changes, but i will play it anyway because i dont like plate transmogs 😀
meta jumping is kind of stupid just play the class thats the most fun for you all classes are viable for all content in the game

They did take 2 expansions to make 2h Frost DK work, Enhance MIGHT be able to work, but who knows
2h enhanced thematically sounds way cool plus in the lore all the cool shamans were using 2h. Need to lean into enhance actually enhancing your weapons and stuff.
Im going in blindly with Guardian Druid. But i want a earthen.... so if they dont give earthen druid then im def gonna swap to after i get the earthen to play a enhancement shaman. I know no one likes them in endgame, but i wanna play one, so ...
At least shamans got their own raid buff now

although i like your content, i have to disagree, why would we need to have any classes "moderately geared" to be ready to main a class/spec? every new expansion, and really all new content in general comes with new item levels. we need absolutely no old gear to be prepared for new content, period.

I dont understand the hype about Meta class. I Play Shadow as a main since years and never had problems finding a group Even when Shadow was Not as Good as other classes. Why is it so hyped to Play a Meta ? When you suck you suck Even when you Play Meta. Learn your class and you will be fine
