    Better to rotate the engine few times to have the set in nicely before tension adjustment.

    What an outstanding job from the photography to the fact that you are very easy to understand! Very well done!

    Hi mate, vertical cylinder TDC position shown in the video is slightly wrong. it is 270 degrees from horizontal cylinder TDC , but 270 degrees of crankshaft turn. camshaft pulley turns at 1/2 of crankshaft speed, so it is 135 degrees of camshaft pulley turn forward (which is about 3 o'clock dot position)

    Great video. I probably watched it 20 times and it gives easy step by step instructions. Because there is no mention if the tensioner cam should be rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise, I would recommend this video: ua-cam.com/video/BlqIi28xaq8/v-deo.html (at 28:30). I haven't started the bike yet so don't know if I did everything right. But it's really pretty straight forward. Just very time consuming. Thanks for posting. I'm a subscriber after watching.

    Can the vertical and horizontal cogs turn independent of each other? Or do they turn together? 4:30 you were pointing at it

    Sorry pal but there is absolutely no need at all to mark the belts and transfer the marks...its just a belt nothing more.. the important thing is timing marks and tdc not need to mark belts at all ...they don't mark new belts at the factory when they build them 😮

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  6 місяців тому

      Yeah I would absolutely never trust installing a belt without knowing exactly how many teeth should be between each cog. Too many variables you'd be taking for granted without comparing markings directly from a known working timing belt that was just removed. But I wish you continued good luck with your method!

    Quick question for you. At 8:21 in the video, you mentioned when installing the new spark plugs you mentioned using that long tool to help insert the spark plugs. Do you need a special tool like that to start screwing in the spark plugs or would I be able to use my extended attachment for my ratchet to start it? I wouldn't think that using the extended ratchet attachment would cause an issue, but I would definitely rather be safe than sorry.
    I just bought the same bike myself, the S version, and I'm changing the spark plugs myself.

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  3 роки тому

      The problem with using the socket/extension to install the plugs is that the plug will fall out of the socket. You might get away with lightly taping the plug to the socket to hold it in while lowering the plug down.

      The frequency of 110 Hz is widely recognized as the fundamental pitch of the human voice. It holds significant cultural and spiritual significance, as both Buddhist and Hindu practitioners utilize this frequency when reciting their sacred mantras.

    Great video. At what interval do you change the belt tensioner and idler pulley bearings? I would do it every time a belt was changed as the bearing is probably only worth $3.

    I didn't realize that you were even still posting videos. I was subscribed and you hadn't come up in recommended videos for a good long time, since about the e30 videos. I think something happened because I see the precipitous drop in viewership with no real drop in quality or interesting content. I turned on notification bell to make sure I don't miss future videos, but you may want to shoot an email over to UA-cam if there may be a problem that you aren't seeing.

    Hello sir,
    is the principle for a hypermotard 950 SP engine from 2019 the same as this engine? Im looking for a way to change the belts myself anytime soon.
    And do you use a tool to turn the crank shaft? Of do you NOT use any tools?
    Hope to hear from you soon. Greetings Dimitri

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, yes the principals will be the same. No special tools are needed other than the frequency phone app for setting the belt tension.

      @@PracticalEnthusiast Thanks for this quick answer. Don't understand why so many people make it look like you are working on a space ship (they say it's very difficult and hard to do).
      Do you happen to have (or made) a how to about this? Not that your clip isn't helpful, but sometimes I like to have something on writing too :-)
      Have a blessed day.

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  2 роки тому +1

      @@DK-lc9uq the belt change can potentially be more complex with a DVT engine - I've never tried it myself. But, the 950 Hypermotard doesn't have DVT, so you'll be good to go.
      I made a write up a while back on changing the belts on my 996. Unfortunately all the pictures in the article are gone now. Not sure what happened there. It's pretty much the same info as in the video though: jalopnik.com/its-cheaper-to-maintain-a-ducati-than-you-think-1793896003

    • @DK-lc9uq
      @DK-lc9uq 2 роки тому

      @@PracticalEnthusiast Thank you, you're a lifesaver. Yeah I once saw a video of someone doing difficult things with the valves, locking them with a kind of tool. And telling without this tool it's much harder to pull it off. I guess that's what's needed with a DVT engine?
      Have you written also a how to of checking valve clearances?
      Thank you so much. Greetings.

    After driving in the B8/H&R combo for a while would you do anything differently? Looking to refresh my 325i touring soon and would love to hear your opinion.

    • @PracticalEnthusiast
      @PracticalEnthusiast  3 роки тому +1

      The B8s were overkill for the street. The ride height was perfect though. I would probably recommend Bilstein's more road focused struts and shocks for a more compliant ride.
