Drugs are pretty easy to get though I gotta say. Just last week my guy was out of town so I just went to the 7-11 down the road and waited in the parking lot for 5 minutes until I saw somebody that looked like he smoked pot and asked him. Took 45 minutes total before I had a dirty blunt in my hands.

Here in WA state if it takes more than 15 minutes for you to get some bud, you either live in the middle of fuck nowhere (and even fuck nowhere has a weed store in WA state) or you're doing something horribly wrong.

Respond to this video... In addition, check out 0:11 Doug does two things: 1) he looks down in front of him (likely at the ladies sitting there) and then he eyes up 'security' . Secondly, Doug makes a hint (to security it seems) to come and get his wife when Doug makes reference to his wife in his show. No security came to get his wife at 0:11 time frame but after 1: 18 Doug again gave an eye gesture to 'security' to come pick up his drunk ASS wife. So one of the ladies was his wife.

I hold a very strong belief in the right of autonomy. In my opinion, to acknowledge someone's intrinsic right to liberty means that person also has the liberty to make dumb choices. So long as their actions don't infringe the rights of others, so be it. I see drug use and/or abuse as a health issue, not a criminal issue.

Thinking is a combination of assessment and recognition. When new situations come up, you compare them to old experiences. Thinking is not just accepting what is told to you. There's a difference between forming an opinion and regurgitating an opinion exactly as it was fed to you. You should know this, you're studying Psychology. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt.

It is someone's problem when a 17 year old (at the time under the influence of some variety of barbituate) breaks into my grandmother's house and steals some jewelry in order to finance his own drug habit. During "school" hours. This is not a hypothetical btw.

Thanks for the long reply. First, so you know where I'm coming from, a bit of history. My drug use is limited to alcohol, OTC allergy meds, and occasional NSAIDS. I have never used an illegal drug. I have never smoked anything. I'm not bragging. I say that only to disclose that I have no personal experience with the drugs I am debating about here. My opinions are solely based on philosophy, which is subject to change as I further explore this issue.
    ...to be continued.

Also the whole "Drugs" thing includes ALL drugs including Caffeine, Tobacco and Alcohol, As well as the Prescribed drugs that are usually MUCH stronger, and more readily available than the Illegal ones.
And, the thing about Cell phones happens MUCH more often (about a 400 to 1 ratio) than someone on "Illicit Drugs" even getting into an Accident of any kind because MOST know not to try to go places on Them because, the Cops are outside.

Regarding your rationale of the cost/benefit analysis of cocaine, I agree with you on a *personal* level. That's why I've never used it and never will. Where I differ in opinion is that I don't believe I have the right to restrict someone else from using it. Others need to make that cost/benefit analysis for themselves. I don't believe I have the right to restrict anyone from doing anything to themselves. For that reason, I disagree with politicians and citizens that claim such a right.

I once met a man whose crack addiction is so severe he’s melted his brain to the point he can barely speak through his stutter and he twitches so badly he has to constantly throw his arms around. Another man who abused him as a child still follows him around, supporting his habit to the tune of over a hundred pounds a day to keep him quiet. That's the story anyway. Part I witnessed, part is hearsay. Legalisation plus abstinence will help this. Drugs can be fun. I stress the 'can'. LSD and DMT...

i don't even understand how a country with so much space per head of population expects to be able to enforce a law that fails in densely populated countries like Britain or japan, and stamp out use with minimum sentances when in Thailand they can't stop it with the death penalty, illegal or not there so available that it just doesn't make a difference im smoking a joint right now.

  • @fuckinghellyoutwat

to be honest i gotta try to put this straight, alcohol isn't as powerful as you make it out to be, sure it lowers inhibitions but you won't do stupid stuff without there being some pre existing stupidity, and the same goes for violence non violent people are non violent even when drunk, the problem is there aren't that many non violent people any more because of the scare tactics you see on the news daily. moderation and dealing with pyscological promblems is the key.

  • @BryanEKS89

Keso, people die from alcohol and tobacco more because they are extremely dangerous, not because they are legal. Statistics actually show the legalization lowers drug use.

@glorp896 I am a 22 year old male who smoked weed everyday since the age of 14. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA at 17 years old, and finished my bachelors degree in game and art design earlier this year. Also all 3 of my roommates smoked daily as well, and only one of them quit school because of family issues. Now back to your little claim you just made. A quick google of the entire report would tell you that this was not a study for just marijuana users, but people who smoke weed and drink heavily.

    1. Well, whatever a "single sitting" is, an "average person" does not exist because the same drugs are used very differently depending on culture, geography, class, education, goal, etc. There may be suggestions for therapeutic drugs, but only because they have a different rationale, that is to cure a disease with minimal side effects.
    2. So you don't even know where the word "heroin" comes from? OK, this lecture is over, find another teacher.

      @Bor Eenpis Regarding,
Amino Acids, L-Ornithine + L-Arginine are not used for bodybuilders as far as I know.
But, L-Ornithine + L-Arginine, when taken subcutaneously, trigger a molecular chain reaction that will engineer your genes and correct any errors in your genome.
For example, it will cure male patterned baldness, color blindness, birth defects, bipolar disease, schizophrenia, psychopathic tendencies, sociopathic tendencies, Downs syndrome, and birth defects.
      It makes you genetically perfect.
      It's all new age medicine.

When you decide to criminalize things that are "bad", in your opinion, where do you stop? Where do you draw the line? More people die of car accidents than cocaine. Should cars be illegal? More people die of obesity related illness. Should high-fat and high-carb foods be illegal? Do you also think cigarettes should be criminalized? Smoke a marlboro, go to an ass-pounding federal prison? Where do you draw the line when you decide to criminalize things YOU think are "bad"?

@cooljj82 When conservatives talk about "big government telling us what to do", they're usually referring to the federal government telling a large corporation that it doesn't have the right to (place incredibly unethical practice here). It's traditionally social conservatives who focus more on limiting other people's freedoms. Whether it's drugs, homosexuality, abortion, prostitution, etc. - you'll find it's social conservatives who cross their arms when confronted with granting freedoms.

there are so many people that don't give any value to the law, that they don't care if it's illegal or not.

i don't think it's too worrying if esp young people do a drug here and there to get the experience, but i don't think it should be legal. yes, alcohol and tobacco is legal, but just because they are doesn't mean we should also legalize everything else. there are simply substances that aren't good for you and your body on the long term, and sometimes people have to be protected from themselves. that has nothing to do with being a bore. a world with 90% drug addicts wouldn't work.

yeah man, i totally agree. It's awesome to live a healthy lifestyle and stay healthy. I live off of a predominate plant-based food diet and excercise atleast four days a week. Yes, weed should be off schedule one, because our kids shouldn't have to suffer hefty consequences for smoking a little bit of pot. But, I don't really understand why you think everyone who smokes pot is an idiot. That is far from the truth, I know plenty of well of people who smoke pot it does far less damage than alcohol
