- Hello ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!
In today's video I visit the Hudson River culvert and discover a beaver has built a massive dam at the entrance. Watch as I tear it apart and drain the thousands of gallons of water held back. I hope you all enjoy this video.
Some have asked how they could help support the channel, so I made a couple of t-shirt designs as well as a hooded sweatshirt for anyone interested in helping out but also getting something in return.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just use your hands for something like this?
the rake is like a hand on steroids when ripping into the pile. I use my hands when needed but prefer the rake as I bend over less.
Go and show him!
@@PleasantlyConfused6816I was just asking, no need to get snarky!!
Lol I came to comments to see if anyone asked. Cause those logs big AF for that rake.
Maybe a chainsaw would help
I would think a chain saw would be an asset to you on jobs like this.
You are committed I have to give you that. Your Community must really appreciate you. Great Work.
I had a summer job in the oil patch in N. Alberta. One of our jobs was to unplug culverts that the beavers had dammed. So being the rookie I had to crawl up the culvert from the down stream side and pull the dam apart. The first branch I pulled caused the whole dam to release. The water flushed me out like a turd in a toilet.
I enjoyed this , but love Post 10. He tells you all about the beavers and trees and the way rivers and wilderness works.
Don’t watch other’s videos and expect them to be clones of Post 10. 🙄🙄🙄
Bring a chainsaw next time. Great work!
Absolutely!!!
this was really fun! thanks for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it!
fantastic job ,having chain hacksaw for cutting big log would have made the job more easier
Marvelous to see a small creature building an amazing dam. Nature indeed is mesmerizing and baffling
Thank you for sharing and most of all for caring and actually doing your best for clearing our riverways...
THIS IS JUST SO FASCINATING TO WATCH HOW THIS DAM WAS BUILT AND HOW MUCH HARD WORK FOR YOU TO DISMANTLE, GREAT JOB
Glad you enjoyed it!
I bet every beaver lodge in the area has a “most wanted” picture of you hanging in it!
All that lovely firewood!
After watching the whole thing, all I can say is AMAZING !!!!!
The ingenuity of the beavers is incredible. I liked the way you showed us both sides of the dam, then we as the watcher realise the depth the beavers have built it. Don’t worry about the camera work, for me just watching your determination is camera work enough. Excellent work 🎉🎉
TY!
So please your back..been waiting for this one.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
Hope you like it!
Beautiful area.
Got a good flow going..
Hello, I'm your subscriber from far away -PORTUGAL.
I could be watching the eclipse live but I really admire your work. I simply prefer to be here, appreciating every gesture you make in favour of nature. Excellent work!
You are a brave and determined dude, that is a daunting task at the least. And that sticky muck on the bottom is very hard to remove because it has branches and rocks in it. Your the man, to stick with it so long. RESPECT!!
Can't you use a chainsaw to reduce the larger logs. Unless cut down they will continue to clog the way. We cleared a small blockage this way, and each spring it happens again. You are a hard worker, stay safe.
I thought about a chainsaw, too. But there would go the peacefulness, wildlife and the echo in the culvert would be heard everywhere. It’s a lovely rural area. Would it be allowed?
Spoken like a woman who has never done brush clearing, go bird watch @@carmenmarshall5787
@@carmenmarshall5787 Electric chainsaw.....
Credit him for what he does, not for what he doesn’t. Jeez!
Great job, that’s a lot of work 😊
Dude! You moved mountains there! That is a hellova job you did. Outstanding!
Wow, that was a marathon! I didn’t think I would watch such a long video but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very peaceful and exciting to see how much you could do. Thank you.

This was an epic clearance, your dedication to clearing this dam has to be applauded. Liking the long videos too.keep on the same path.please everyone drop a like,it takes a second

No wst I'm dropping a like on something so poorly planned and executed!!! Damn you must live a boring life to waste 2hrs watching that crap.
You are the MAN ....great job ....👏
Thanks 👍
That was amazing work, what a great thing to do for others.
man , you are relentless .. so pleased we dont have these dam things in nz.
Good job ❤🎉😊😊😊😊
Why is this video so oddly satisfying to watch?
You are right, that beaver is a master builder. This was the toughest dam removal I have ever seen.
New 2 your channel. Jeff from Lebanon PA and I wanna tell you that you are awesome man and keep making videos. 👍👍🤠🤠🤠
Love your Video's

Respect and greetings from the Netherlands.
God bless you bountifully for unclogging by yourself such enomous debris. It is simply an heroic act. Your family and community must be very very proud of you. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😢I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO LADIES AND GENTLEMAN
Well done , I can't believe how much you accomplished in such a short time ,you deserve a well earned rest !🎉🎉
Thank you!!
The amount of dexterity and stamina needed for the amount of time you did this is amazing!
Terrific job once again!
Thank you! Loved the video
were there ever beavers there?
beavers can only move logs if there is enough water. it seems to me more like dead wood that was driven at high tide.
good work!
If you look closely throughout the video, there are signs of beavers everywhere. Partially cut trees along the shore, beaver cut sticks in the pile, mud and leaves mixed and placed up high in the dam as well as all the sticks with the bark chewed off. I'm going to order a trail cam and leave it down there to put this debate to rest lol.
So, here's me, sitting in Ireland and excited that I am about to walk out to see the Hudson River for the first time in my life. Your videos might have more impact than you imagine! They are also very relaxing to watch. Thank you.
Best Wishes, Brendan.
Hope you enjoy it; I'll try to get some better footage instead of blinding you with glare lol
Sir, You are a gentle Giant. Thank You 4 ur work
Great job! Now, that was a hard work.
Excellent…looking forward to more
You worked hard, an entertaining video you have provided for us, and all in a good cause, thankyou.
I appreciate that!
I can just picture Mike Rowe doing a show on this job.
You need a Superman cape. The city of Hudson should pay you for all of this work if they don’t already! The world functions because of men like you who are willing to get their hands dirty for the greater good. Every time I thought you finished there was another log!😮 I have a cousin who has a home on the Hudson River. Thank you!
Great job removing that big complicated beaver dam, some of those logs were huge and heavy. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for watching!
This gentleman said towards the end of his video that he was exhausted after clearing tons of rubbish stuck in the beaver dam
I would have been out of action for a week after that shift he did
Amazing 🤩 👍
27:47 The camera got so impatient that it just started to wander away. LOL

Best one ive seen so far im glad you were smart enough to let the water help you and take all the debris down stream so it just doesnt end up beinmg used again the next day to remake the dam.
I returned after this video with a chainsaw and completed the job. I also returned a few days after that for a follow up video. Its 100% clear and wide open now. Thanks for watching.
