This Guy has a WELL THOUGHT out Home, like on The Farm here. Everything is running on Propane, you can Buy and Store over a Year’s worth of it, and it Never goes Bad.!
Also a Propane Generator, to refill the Solar Batteries, when Needed.
Primary heat source is Wood, with the Propane as a backup, along with On Demand hot water, Dryer and Stove/ Oven, all on Propane.
Minimal Dependence on Electricity as a Primary Source. 👍

I'm in VA as well and doing something very similar to this setup. I have a whole home generator, thanks to the Veteran Affairs, incorporated into my plans. In case of a long outage, I plan to use the whole home generator during the day and solar batteries during the night which will be connected to an inlet box. My only concern at the moment is, while using the solar batteries at night, how to use inlet box without leaving the door opened. Only thing that comes to mind is getting a long enough power cable that will connect the solar battery to the inlet box with and having it go through the window.

Is that whole home generator for something like a CPAP machine?

@@SuperSushiRoll no, the rep wrote it up for charging electric wheelchair and to power my air mattress. I'm service connected so that probably helped my case.

You can have a 3 pole double throw switch installed and have 2 inlets installed- 1 outside for generator and 1 in the basement for batteries. You can switch between inlets- I have this set up and have used it without issue. This example below is what I based my set up on except I have 2 sets of the batteries shown in that video- what you can see is his inlet set up and he explains it really well.

Not bad at all for DIY Tier Equipment, but I would rather have true smart micro grid technology with 3 x Enphase IQ5Ps!! 144 LRA support and Whole home backup!!
Software support for TOU and Non- Export PCS systems, No comparison in mind, not even close!

Do you have a comparison video between the Bluetti, Ecoflow, & Ankor stacked battteries?

There are a lot of auto switch over systems now that work very well. Seems it would be better to set this up so he doesn’t have to plug it up if the power goes out.

ATS is included in the EP800. Joe didn't use the auto-transfer installation method because he wanted to utilize the gas generator inlet.

If he used the ats can the solar panels also feed while grid is powering stuff?

I have and Enphase system with no batteries. I have a generator hookup with a manual lockout. When the power goes out, the solar energy is automatically shut off.
How would I hook up a Bluetti to use the solar energy during a power outage? Is it possible?

We're finally done with paying for our boys' educations (k through univeristy) and my wife and I are now serious about installing a PV+battery backup for our all electric home before retiring next year (or soon thereafter). I currently have only one Predator 9500 (with an extended runtime kit, having an 18 gallon aux tank, to provide backup power. (We were fortunatl to have had to use it only once for a very short black-out period.) I have a soft-start on the heat pump. The Bluetti system and the Solix X1 look like interesting options, though the Bluetti seems to accomodate only two parallel units (not sure if this is really an issue--need to run the numbers). Can the generator be used concurrently to charge the Bluetti batteries and augment load demand much like the PC panels during the day?
    Great video, btw.

My peak output for my SP's is 9.2KW.. the EP900 wont cut it for me... I guess ill need to go with 1X 5p battery for now, due to budget constraints.

Could the interconnection be made in future versions using the feet of the modules connecting to the top? So you would just stack these modules on top of each other and they connect to each other without any cables? A bit like connecting an iPad to the smart keyboard. Would be much easier if that could be developed?

I don't see how this is a better system compared to the EP Cube. It's bulkier and more expensive.

2.8kwatts will drain battery to 0.0 watts in 5 hours

At my house it would drain in one hour just on my critical load panel. I would need 10 of those 15kw stacks just to make it one day for my whole house . Guess I’ll need to talk to Elon about getting one of those huge mega batteries! 😂
