      thats a 98-02 ws6 front clip.. thats a real ws6 hood. the original hood is 97 down hood

    • @mattspontiacta
      @mattspontiacta 3 місяці тому

      Incorrect that 02 hood is actually a FireHawk hood. You can tell by the hood heat extractors vents towards the back of the hood on each side. Then the Firehawk hood has two open air intakes integrated into the top of the front bumper . The Firehawk hood has a much cleaner ram air design.
      A WS6 hood 98-02 looks like it has 4 openings where the air intake meets the bumper. Plus the WS6 has no heat extractors like the Firehawk hood.
      Personally like the 93-97 Firehawk hood better

    All I can say is Holy Bat shit. Idk how old u r young man but u got some skills. Alot of ppl are great at 1 thing. Great welding, painting, body work etc. Urr pretty dam good on all of it. No BS, cutting corners, 3 gallons of bondo and old tennis shoes to fill the holes, No shit I had a car like that, pulled on a string hanging down and out came a new balance, wrapped in plastic and shop rags. She looked good from the outside. I learned as a 18 yr old man to really look a vehicle over. They can look like a 10 but be a 2. I'm proud of what you have done. Always been a fan of the screaming chicken. Had a 87 trans am with a 327 chevy out of a 71 Corvette. With a 5 speed that thing would go 120 mph on interstate and rev at barely 1300 rpm. Had a hot cam and a 850 double pumper with mechanical secondaries. Miss that car. Keep up doing this work. There's money in the skills you have. Many ppl see a vehicle that gets totaled by a deer and just get another. Great video. Great car.

      @@eyecandycreations7463 There's just something about those cars. I was never a Camaro fan of the late models, but tge older late 60s are nice. I don't like that Catfish look. lmao. I know it's not easy with a family. I have a few kids and between them and the wife it's hard to find time to do any wrenching. You did a great job. Please keep doing that and making videos showing it done. Alot of kids now days are to wrapped up in screens or video games. Every time I see a younger kid in a car that was made decades before their birth it makes me smile knowing they got some gas in their veins and grease under their nails. Newer vehicles are boring and quite ugly. From the beginning of the 20th century to about mid 70s cars had style, u could tell what it was by its design, now they all look blah. Yes the Demon, Vette, Camaro, Stang have serious power and some style, but every car had it then. Those guys like Earle and Shelby are gone but u can see their taste in the GM and Shelbys. Keep it up bud. Have a great weekend. Thank you.

      don't hold your breathe especially since the whole Pontiac line was discontinued. There is even talk about the Camaros getting the noose. I use to work for Pontiac and Trans Ams are my fav cars. I have an all orig, '98 ws9 and I get ppl, all of the time anting to buy it but they are getting more rare all of the time especially stock like mine. The prices and value are shooting upwards. You are better off to buy one now instead of waiting and hoping for them to be brought back as the chance is pretty much nill.

      How hard would a auto to manual transmission swap be?

    • @eyecandycreations7463
      @eyecandycreations7463  3 роки тому +2

      @@stormlossing3345 I’ve never done one on one of these cars. Although this is my best guess to guide you there. Looking up some other threads of people that have would help as well. But I believe you would need the wiring harness for the transmission/ might be the engine harness. But I’m not sure about that. But that’s probably the worst part. I would guess you need the trans crossmember, pedal assembly, hydraulic slave cylinder with master, center console, maybe the Ecm. But I think everything will bolt right up on the car. Your best bet is to find a parts car or some junk yard exploring to collect all those parts. But it all depends on how much money and time a person wants to spend.

      the 3rd and 4th gens are really going up on value and price. You best be getting a 4th gen soon while they are still barely affordable. I have had 2 '85 T/A's and a '86 IROC and my '98 T/A is WAYYY better car than those . The differences are night and day. To me the seats and seating position is way better and easier on the back. The ride is smoother and it handles better. The power is so much more as there is really no comparison

    Great video !! Just subbed. I'm a painter / airbrush artist by trade. Man the paint really laid down good and smooth. Love the color. I have a t-top LS1 '98 T/A in Sebring Silver. It's the ws9 with the flat hood. Best car I ever had. It still has the original paint, orig. plugs and alternator LOL. I have had it since 2014 as the 2nd owner and never even had to have it aligned. The tires wear perfect and even. I just applied ceramic coating and it looks great for 24 yr old paint -haha I have people stop at my house and ask me if I want to sell it. They are really hard to find especially stock like mine. I installed a 1400 watt sound system and that is the only mod. I see Camaros, Vettes, Dodges and Mustangs all of the time and even exotics like Lambos etc. but Trans Ams are super rare here in Vegas. The prices have really been going up. I think in the near future Trans Am prices will really skyrocket.

      Thanks for all the compliments and for subscribing. It really helps. I also agree I do think it is very unlikely that these cars will come back and just like all the old muscle cars they will most likely become more and more valuable. It’s also nice to chat with other painter to bounce stuff off of. I want to take on another trans am project but I think my next one will start with a v6 since they are easier to come by. I have huge build plans although at this point it’s a dream until all the funds present themselves. But that build will be performance based.

      @@eyecandycreations7463 you are very welcome, brotha. Yea, I'm thinking about trying to buy up a few. I wish that I had already did it before the prices went up. There are still some good deals if a person looks around. I want to get one just to modify prolly with a supercharger. I thought about doing a hood and airbrush an insane looking pteradactyl breathing fire as he is coming out of a volcano LOL I wanna build another truck. I had 3 show trucks- '82 Red Silverado short wide- 76 white 4x4 stepside Chevy with ice blue, medium brite blue and silver stripes with gold pinstripe between each color. It was barely street legal and I also use to mud race it. I could outrun new Vettes at the time for about a block LOL the last truck I had was a '97 Silverado stepside all blacked out with saw blade billets. It got stolen here in Vegas right after I moved here and I didn't have my aftermarket alarm hooked up/ It was stolen at a casino in broad daylight on a Sunday I went down for an hour to watch the Broncos play and boom when I went to the 2nd floor it was gone. The cops arrested the guy the next Tuesday. The wiring was all messed up and I was afraid of some internal motor or tranny damage plus the salvage title.He was at a store trying to pop the locking gas cap he didn't know it had. The dude panicked and they called the cops. LOL he only got a 4yr probation suspended sentence and the freakn judge gave him 4yrs to pay me back my insurance deductible and I still only got $200 instead of $250. I got quite a bit from insurance and bought my low mileage T/A I only paid $5100 from a one owner lady. I think I will build another blacked out Chevy stepside. I loved that truck. I would prolly put either a Ls1 or Ls3 as the Vortec 5.7 were known for faulty intake gaskets (I had to replace mine)
