Wow amazing video brother I really love it. Super cool for you to make this. Thank you so much man! Also the 3D maps were a great touch very very well done.
Came down to the comments just to say this. The overhead maps are a really awesome touch that improves the presentation so much. I subscribed just because I appreciate that kind of often underrated attention to detail.
You are my new favorite UA-camr. Your production values are exceptional, you have a great voice and concept for these videos, and im absolutely loving all the content you are putting out. Keep it up, the sky is the limit!!
Great video! I am enjoying all the details. Your maps and recreations are very well executed. I used to love this game when I was young and it's nostalgic to see it again. I love how passionate you are for speedrunning and your enthusiasm toward new players hitting the scene and overtaking your records is refreshing and inspiring. Also, I like the way your pronounce the word "drawers" :>
Your channel is awesome! I'm so glad I decided to take a look at Starshot and found you my dude! We have very similar mission statements as speedrunners.
I've always wanted to play through this one and the army men helicopter game when i was a kid but I never got the chance. The little army men reminded me of the Small Soldiers movie..that I also missed out on.
I was surprised to see this gsme again, i had it on ps1 as a child though i knew nothing about this kind of collectathoning and could keep gettin stuck until i just gave up on it and shelves it for games like tomb raider or the same toy story game you recently covered
I really appreciate you making these videos, i used to play a lot this game when i was a kid and to this day i still play it (but now i like to play the Dreamcast version) i know this game is very obscure but is one of my fav n64 games.
It depends on the game. For some games, people have made software allowing you to export the levels and for other games I have had to export it myself using this method: ua-cam.com/video/I6IEllQvnaA/v-deo.htmlsi=p2mFHChH0fPmTzyS
I grew up with army men RTS on game cube and all my life I've seen this game get more attention than the one I've grown to love this whole time. I doubt it will be a good speed run but if anyone wants what I assume is civ6 for babies, please play it. Very fun. Only like a buck fiddy on the right steam sale.
Yes, used the setup from this video: ua-cam.com/video/I6IEllQvnaA/v-deo.html for this game it was a very slow and tedious process since I had to swipe one section at a time and then put them together in blender but Im happy with the results
It often depends on the game and the type of controller and if people have mapped the bottons differently and such. The Hori controller we use is commonly used in speedrunning. Super Mario 64 runners often use them for Bowser throws.

17:50 my friends and I abused the "Checkpoint Reset" in multiplayer. It warms my heart to see it used in speedruns as well.
Wow amazing video brother I really love it. Super cool for you to make this. Thank you so much man! Also the 3D maps were a great touch very very well done.
Speedrun history videos are a sort of comfort food video for me.
Your production values are spectacular. Being able to see the maps is so nice along with your explanations of the various tech in the run.

Update: Archy got a 26:49 on 03-27-2023, which is WR.

Very well-produced and polished video. Good explanations on the tricks too. Good work
My cousins let us borrow this on PS1 back in the day.
Sarge's heroes and Sarge's Heroes 2 were my favorite games as a kid. 3do made great games back then like global assault.
Good content, the format reminded me of rwhitegoose's speedlore content for Goldeneye.
Great video, I always love to see something high quality come from the community of this game.
I love the level design in this game so much

So happy to have found your channel, dude! Great vids!
Keep doing your thing man and you’re gonna be big in the speedrun documentary community. The next summoning salt right here
I love record progression videos on lesser known games. Great job on this, you've earned my subscription.
My brother and I played a lot of this almost 25 years ago, thanks for the nostalgia
I normally only watch wr runs but learning about the journey of some speedruns is awesome.

Great stuff can’t wait till you take off. Keep grinding.
This game was absolutely fantastic when I was a kid! I would love to see the Army Men series to be remastered some day
I've always wanted to play through this one and the army men helicopter game when i was a kid but I never got the chance. The little army men reminded me of the Small Soldiers movie..that I also missed out on.

I'd love to see someone speed run the PS1 Army Men World War games too
Haven’t thought about this game in a long time. Wow
how do you get 3d models from the games that you are talking about?
these graphics on top of the game's landscape always look so cool, i love it

i remember playing this game ALOT on the n64!
Excellent presentation
Huge fan of this series and Zen_ivan is the goat
I love the 3D graphics of the levels, such awesome and creative work!
howd you extract all the levels like that?
Used this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/I6IEllQvnaA/v-deo.htmlsi=cDySe0680xd3IjF7
I remember playing this game when I was a kid and thought the game was super hard because of the controls
I loved Sarge's heroes as a kid, but I'm not sure I ever got past the minefield in like level 1 (I think?)
I grew up with army men RTS on game cube and all my life I've seen this game get more attention than the one I've grown to love this whole time.

Awesome video
Nice! Excellent diagrams and explanations! Really enjoyed it!
Cheers!
How did you make those 3D maps? Did you extract the data from the game? It's pretty cool.

you need better promotion .boy was I locked in😂
Maybe Conker next? ;D
I think I have this game for the PS2
Fine. I'll subscribe. You're content it... entertaining... I guess....
"Good to go"
Isn't using a new controller considered cheating though? I'm not a speed runner.

Played the shit out of this game on the PSX, this version looks better.
8:10 that video slide up effect is highly offensive, anyone else?
Quest 64
This game was always a game i "wanted to like as a kid" but never had the patience for it. Kinda like quest 64, except that game just sucked lol
Pronounced route not rout
This game simultaneously sucks and slaps. Best sniper rifle in any game ever made. Party tiiiime...
