    At 8:00 and 10:10 are you placing the double crochets into the hole beneath the 3 chains (fake double crochet), or actually into one of those chains?

    • @SelinaVeronique
      @SelinaVeronique  2 роки тому

    Hi, I've made the shawl and found it's very long in the back and not wide enough to cross in the front and tie in the back. I kept adding rows hoping to have the two front ends meet and overlap in the back. How can I make it wider in proportion to length. Should I begin and end each row with 3 DC instead of 2? Should I also increase the center to 3DC, ch 2, 3Dc. Since I've already ripped out the first one I made I'd rather not go by trial and error if I can help it. My basic problem with fitting this pattern to me is that I'm not tall and thin like Catriona Balfe. I'm shorter and wider.

    • @SelinaVeronique
      @SelinaVeronique  3 роки тому

      Hi, thanks for your comment. I am surprised that by adding rows the shawl still didn't come out the way you wanted, as I have had a lot of feedback from women who wanted it wider and this technique worked out fine for them. It will always be longer at the back than wide, as this is the shape of this specific wrap. I would suggest making this pattern again, with more rows, and also adding on either corner a long chain through which you would slip stitch. This would create straps so to speak that would enable you to attach this wrap around you with not hassle and very easily. I hope this helps!

    I made this and it only wraps to a point above my breast. I read and reread the pattern and can't figure out where I went wrong 😭 I checked yarn weight, hook size, everything

      Are you saying it's not wide enough to wrap around you? I'm not sure I understand your question, sorry.
      Did you make sure you were increasing at both ends and in the middle as well?

    I mean no offense, please. I realize you work very hard to make these videos and I appreciate your effort. I applaud all you share their knowledge of crochet.
    But... no. That is not the Outlander Shawl. If it's any comfort, many people mistakenly think the shawl from Outlander is simply a triangle. It isn't. If you look closely at pictures, you'll notice it cuts tightly at the back of the waist, using ribbing; also, nothing hangs down, either front or back. This could be a substitute. But it is not that design.
    I believe it is a version of an infinity design, but with ribbing across the back. That's my guess. I was hoping to find someone who had worked out the proper dimensions but it looks like I'll have to figure it out for myself. I'll let you know if I can manage it. No promises as I am not a designer.

      Bruh your tripping. Also leave her alone if you don’t have anything nice to say, zip it up and pack it out
