I have to agree about the "no bs",...so many YT'ers are filling their vids with some much bs fluff,....that I find myself just fast forwarding through the vid. I'm not giving them 24 minutes of time for 20 minutes of BS,...for 4 minutes of info,...that is, if they even get to it before I 'jet' to the next vid.
any kayak can capsize if misused. Hard to recommend without knowing the kinds of waterways and fishing you'll do. But I think the 120 is a good middle of the road one to go with.
Yes old Town through hull ports SUCK! I basically modded mine and waterproofed it myself but should've gone the route you did. Same deal with the transducer. My giant Lowrance StructureScan transducer was sitting too low and the flipping it over hack worked. One thing though, with some of the Lowrance transducers, when you flip it over there's two areas that stuck down and grab on structure. I had to rock myself loose from a log because the metal part of the bracket dug in and refused to let go lol.
@@ChiCityYaker I thought of that but I did something similar on a plastic tote and the metal heating up from the grinding melted the plastic. And I think one of the bolts on the "universal Transducer mount" (which I had to drill because the holes didn't line up lol) is cross threaded so I don't really want to take it off and risk it being able to get it back into the brass insert. I know, I'm a mess 🤣🤣
I'm in Florida and that mount would get torn up first time out. Glad you launch from a ramp only thing I can thnk of us usiing an over the side removable mount for the trans ducer. Thanks for the great vids.
Sir, with regards to the USB port mounting, what size drill did you use to cut that hole? I bought a Nocqua USB port and it seems to measure just a bit more than 1” on n diameter. Did you use silicone to help add a bit more robust seal? Thank you!
Awesome video. Just curious what made you go with the aluminum tracks vs adding plastic ones like the front and the back? Also how would you rate the yak attack rod holders vs scotty?
went with aluminum one's because they don't need backing plates. Be design it just has a a bunch of self-tapping screws. Otherwise with plastic one's I'd need access to back side and that can't happen. Also, love the Yakattack rod holders. I think they're much more functional.
Thanks! Getting mine soon. Gotta a stupid deal on it
Thank you ... Huge help !!!
You're welcome!
Just bought one to set up over the winter months in the northeast. Thanks for the tips.👍
Excellent "Hack" vid,....my man!
Glad you found it useful
Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for the no BS walk through. Nice job.
No problem!

Thanks. I want this AutoPilot 120 I think i will get it this week. I found one locally.
Grab it then, they are hard to find.
This is Spanish for the reason for you to add holes in your kayak does that Voyager warranty
Thanks buying a 106 w minnkota w lowrance fs7 & active target. Where you fishing, we travel to Oswego, NY. Thanks for hacks
Thanks for the video! I am buying a hummingbird for my 106 MK and the tip about the Hobie 3 way mount is going to save me some headache!
Glad it helped!
amazing video
Thanks!
Which model should I buy? 136 , 120 106? Which one will be least capsizable ?

Lol get a metal grinder and grind those pieces down is what comes to mind. Glad the hacks helped

Thanks bud!
Great video and tips! Just ordered a 120 myself. Also, a Chicago area native (Naperville) here eagerly awaiting Spring.
Congrats! You’ll love it
Great tips simple but very thought out thanks
Nice job I've been contemplating on buying one.

I wanna say its a 1-1/8th size. In fact I think its the same size hole you have to punch to for a hobie through hull.
Thanks. Looking to get mine set up when I get it in the mail. But with all the holes you put in yours, did it effect your warranty?
nah, its pretty standard that everyone drills into the yak but as long as you don't drill into the hull. Then I think it would impact it.
One thing I don’t like about my old town autopilot it doesn’t support ipilot link so I can network my kayak
Great job Michael! gave me some great ideas for my 136. definitely adding the gen 2 gear tracks on mine like that.
Nice! Happy to help

I brought stealth rod holder w extension
ok
What mount did you use for your FF?
YakAttack Omega Pro
What trailer do you use?
Good ideas but you know you voided the hull warranty by drilling into the hull. Downsides.
