- The Spyro Reignited Trilogy got a lot of things wrong, but is Hunter one of the few it got right?

Here it is! The one you've all been waiting for!

It was fantastic. You points out things I missed about him.
I noticed that Hunter sounded like a grown up in the original games, and now sounds like a teenager in the reignited versions. But I like him in either style anyway. Maybe you should do the Professor or Moneybags for the next analysis.
@@slylanders1291 Everyone looks and sounds younger these days. Definitely a sign of the times.

They somehow made him sound and act even more like a 90s character than his actual 90s integration, but I kinda like that about him.
Who's he and what's wrong with his mouth?
This is Hunter, and we don't know.
I have a disorder.

Was gonna comment this!
I absolutely love Hunter in the Reignited Trilogy. As a cat lover, I was and still am absolutely pleased that now he looks like a real cheetah. The new animations, graphics and voice actor put in a nice add on to a fave feline character.
And the fact that he has actual for reals teeth and his mouth is more properly proportioned. I am also a cat lover and Hunter is easily one of my all time favourite videogame/movie/tv series cat characters 🐈 😻
Yeah hunter in the original trilogy mostly resembles a Meerkat
Old hunter sounds like a loveable goof and I like it.
it was the same one who voiced ripto from the old one
@@CharmeIeon What you mean
@@kjcenteno5734 couldn't you tell? they are so good at changing their voices you couldn't tell
@@CharmeIeon Nope you got me on that one. Now I know and knowing is half the battle.

About the fact that Hunter in the original game didn't even try to chase Ripto for the power crystal: yes, I prefer the original version of that cutscene for the "Well, I tried" joke.
But this does not make Reignited Hunter a worse character than he used to be, by any means
In my opinion, it fits with how timid he's usually portrayed as being around Ripto -- which, if I had to guess why he is this way, it's because it was in part because of his stupidity that brought Ripto to Avalar to begin with.
I always saw Hunter as a friendly rival, especially when he challenges you to all those mini games. I understand where your coming from, but I prefer my cheetah cheeky.
For me I just miss the sardonic tone in his voice and inflections.
While I don't dislike the new Hunter; he's lost that quirkiness which makes him a much blander character in many respects.
He still has it, it's just not as obvious as before
@MelancholyJoker19 Are you kidding? His goofball tendency is so pronounced it overrides his original warmth and amicable charm!
Hunter's new demeanor makes it harder to see why Bianca fell for him, as a matter of fact.
That's not the only problem caused by Hunter's loss of charisma. Not only would the original Hunter have won over intended protogees, he also would have been very reassuring to a bewildered young kid who has to navigate in an utterly unfamiliar universe! His newer incarnation, meanwhile, is so manic that his antics would scare the intended recipient of his mentorship.
@@daniellevinson6975 In fairness they made Bianca a whole lot dorkier as well, so that likely helps. To a nerdy minion whose failing to be evil, a fellow nerd with a harmless personality is likely a breath of relief. :P
I do miss the slickness of both characters in the original versions though. I think his design also better reflected that, as basic as it was. The buffer look and big cat grin. I look at Hero's Tail Hunter and feel that was what you get if you puncuate the other side of him, even in design and voice. He's slick cat all over.
I like reignited hunter, he kinda makes me think of that one friend you have that won't take sass and doesn't mind some friendly competition after getting to know you. In the beginning it was probably some pettiness but after awhile he figured being petty won't help either of them. Kinda like that one coworker you tolerate at a job but get sad to see them go... If that makes sense
I like reignited Hunter they brought more character out then this weird Stoner character at least now he annoys you to littler standards
I agree with all these points. Especially on the bow and arrow, since he uses it as a main weapon in hero tail.
Maybe do Gulp and Crush next?
Not sure how I'm supposed to analyze them. They're the same. They fulfill their purpose as bosses and not much else.
@@MiharuTheFox They do have a kinda unique personality, which is described in the game's manual and kinda shown in the game.
Crush as a low IQ creature who just loves smashing with his club, and Gulp as someone who just loves eating anything, including bombs and Ripto's scepter.
Yeah but... they're the same in Reignited. See, these particular analyses are really more about comparisons between OG and remake than anything else. If there's no comparison to make, there's no basis for a video.
I really miss old hunter. Its like old hunter was your goofy uncle whereas new hunter is your athletic older cousin. I was really comforted by hunters voice as a kid and its even more devestating to me that they didnt have Greg Berger re voice hunter the way they did for Ripto :-(
Hunter in Reignited is like some generic cereal brand mascot trying to peddle his radical, sugary Hunter-O's. That's what happens when you make characters more "likable" instead of more dynamic. Gregg Berger brought Hunter to life with his iconic, slow pronunciation of dialogue. I liked how he was my ally but with some underlying jealousy fueling a friendly competition between him and Spyro. It was relatable. At the time, Hunter's character was subversive to the 90's 'Poochie-esque' "cool" sidekick. Reignited completely stumbles with striking that charming balance.
I personally think they've got Hunter spot on. The voice actor is perfect for the role in my opinion. Loved Hunter in the original series, love him even more now. You perfectly described his voice in Reignited, exactly what I was thinking. Once again, a great video 👍
I'm surprised that in the new version, it's Robbie Daymond. Y'know, the person who voiced Sway-Sway (the taller, skinnier duck/frog whatchamacallit) from Breadwinners. Though I don't like that show, I think Daymond has talent, and I am glad he got to show it here. I guess it kinda makes up for him being in a bad show like Breadwinners. (Plus it would explain why Hunter sounds so different here.)
@@artbytesia He's also Akechi in P5, and Prompto in Final Fantasy XV
Hunter in the original looks like a rejected muppet. I hate to say that but I feel that it's true. I'm not gonna reject other peoples opinions on him but, that's just how I feel. Seeing him in Reignited is actually quite refreshing. He seems more of a likeable and cool dude. Reminds me of one of those stoner surfer guys. ^^
Well I saw he looked like a Meerkat
I love both Versions of Hunter... Hunter being my favourite Male spyro character(since i was a kid to now).. when i first played reignited..i was a little harsh on his new voice because i had hoped for the one i grew up with.. i would much prefer his old voice but i've come to accept and love this new hunter. his goofball personality reminds me of a certain friend i have
The original Hunter had this bizarre aloofness to his character, both in his voice and animations. I absolutely loved it. For me the main problem with Reignited Hunter is that he’s a lot less unique now. Old Hunter was kind of a weirdo, constantly looking like something was distracting half of his mind. New Hunter is just a skater dude.
But couldn't that be said about most things in Reignited? It's less unique in general because it's a recreation.
Miharu The Fox I don’t think so actually. The Spyro 1 dragons are great examples of characters being made more unique by the remake.
@@dhi1145 But those are specific examples. I'm saying as a trilogy overall, even though I think Spyro 1 Reignited is the definitive version of that game.
The old hunter looks more like a meerkat lol
Well I disagree but to each their own I guess. Something about Greg Burger's portrayal as Hunter just felt like it added to the identity to the original trilogy, like he'd add enough to a game to make it feel memorable. Even in Enter The Dragonfly (yes I'll be complimenting that mess!) as well as A Hero's Tail he had enough from the original trilogy to be distinguishable to ... well Hunter! Whilst I don't think he's bad as a character in Reignited, he honestly just sort of feels like every hipster character I've seen in other games which is kind of sad since I don't really think of this version of Hunter when I think of Spyro.
Well of course. When I think of Hunter, I'm going to always think of the original first. But that's what I grew up with, so it's hard to replace something like that because of nostalgia.
@@MiharuTheFox Yeah I mean it could mostly be because of that but I think it's also a small issue of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Like besides being polygonal, I didn't think there was anything MAJORLY wrong with Hunter in the original trilogy that they had to change. Like I said, it's nothing too big to complain about and we're all entitled to an opinion.
His design is 10/10 imo
Hunter ius helping Ripto, you cant convince me otherwise.
He ALWAYS throws the orbs in the boss fight to HIM, not ME!
But yeah, his reignited trilogy design is much better, his mouth scared me as a kiddo in the original.
Original Hunter always sounded high af, especially during the speedway minigames in Year Of The Dragon
Hunters better in the original hands down no competition
Yeah I agree
Both are equally good
@@MelancholyJoker19 yeah ture but I just like his voice in the original one
@neo You said it! The original Hunter was like some playful camp counselor a disoriented 9-year-old boy could bond with over the summer. His new incarnation would just make kids scared from watching his antics!
@AlexNOSAM Is that... Is that sarcasm? I don't see how a character being expressive is bad or obnoxious.
Haha YES! I COMPLETELY agree on this one. Old Hunter was honestly a little TOO condescending. The new one is just way more endearing to me.
With the voices, I think it comes down to this: Old Hunter is Jason Griffith Sonic, and Reignited Hunter is Ryan Drummond Sonic.
Idk, Reignited Hunter feels more like Roger Craig Smith Sonic to me.
i'll take reignited hunter any day unlike that thing with his mouth reaching his ears
Lol
Honestly, Spyro 3 was, in my opinion, the only good performance Gregg Berger did with Hunter. In 2, he was very rough around the edges in his voice and his line delivery came off as strained and unnatural, much like Milton James as Moneybags. So I'm grateful Robbie Daymond fixed that in the Reignited trilogy. Still, I can't decide which version I prefer. He's definitely much prettier to look at than in the 90s (lol) but I've always had a fondness for his more relaxed way of being comic relief in the original, though the more zanier antics in the Reignited trilogy is still very much enjoyable. He's nowadays been called a furry version of Shaggy from Scooby Doo which kinda makes sense given the cowardly nature of his character and implications that he's a stoner. lol Great video Erin! I love these discussions from you!
Glad to have helped put this together! :) I like both versions of Hunter pretty equally; the original for his goofiness and iconic voice, and Reignited's for his heightened personality and snappier, more fluid animations.
3:34 of course he felt like a buddy, he's a Gryffindor!
Yes, somebody else says it! XD
@@MiharuTheFox 😁 *Sirius Black raising glass gif* it was my first thought when i played the game
Fun fact cheetahs in real life are very submissive and would rather run away than fight...
Edit second fun fact a baby rabbit (since I figured I should add a fact relevant to Bianca) is also called a kitten
I wouldn’t say submissive, but timid. Yes, they’ll run, unless they’re cornered. Hunter not wanting to do dangerous things until it matters is on par with them.
I sort of think the issue is that since they have better animation, they could do more with hunter as a character.
They did imo
Awesome Video Miharu! :)
Yo! I didn't really like Hunter in the remaster but couldn't really tell why, and everyone around me just hated him but didn't give me any more specific details about it
Your video gives justice to this character and helped see through and understand things better. I like both now, thanks for that!
I'm glad! Thanks for watching!
He felt like a unique character in the original. How he is now just seems like that generic skater named Josh. It's not a bad character, it's just not what Hunter was. His design is fine, I just think I goes in the wrong direction a little too much. Maybe not wrong direction, but not the one he had. I really feel they could have had a very *similar* silhouette to the original. His face design is just totally different.
I like the original MUCH better. The thing with hunter is that he's a loveable goofball, and a coward with a big heart, I still don't get how anyone could have hated hunter back when they first played the game. By making him more athletic they took away the cowardice of his character which makes the cutscene where he's trying to get the gem back make no sense if hunter is so athletic, then why didn't he try to get the gem back, so they could have the " hey... give that back... well I tried!" Joke but it doesn't make sense anymore with the way that line is delivered now hunter seems more lazy than a coward, plus the whole being athletic thing NEVER comes up later in the game other than the skate park minigames. I mostly hate reignited hunter because the completely watered down his character, which they seemed to have done with most of the characters in the game.
I don't understand what's making him seem like less of a loveable goof. I still got that vibe from him.
And how did making him athletic take away anything? Also, it didn't come out of nowhere. Even in the original, he apparently had running shoes. Why would he need those if he's a cheetah? Track, archery, skateboarding, all sports. He's even the course champion of Ocean Speedway. It wasn't an unnecessary addition, it was an amplification.
@@MiharuTheFox it feels mostly unnecessary to me because they really made him more of an athletic stereotype rather than an athletic person. I felt like the fact that they mentioned running shoes was more them playing off the fact that hunter is a cheetah rather than that he was athletic.
@@Trecherousbeast That's what I like though. That they did something with it instead of just being like "haha running shoes 'cuz cheetah". They expanded upon it, and I appreciate that.
The changes they made to the scene where Hunter tells Ripto to "Give it back" grated on me something fierce in the Reignited, and is a prime example of Toys For Bob completely misunderstanding the humour of the original. The whole point of the scene was that the best he could come up with was to tell him to give it back, instead of physically trying to stop him. It's nowhere near as funny if he's actually trying like he does in Reignited, so instead we have an altered scene that removes the quality of the original and adds nothing of lasting value in its place.
That's not the only example though. Take the "You gotta believe!" line that clearly homaged Parappa, with the delivery being completely off and now losing both the intention and the context of the original for that line to land.
And of course, we have the outro to Breeze Harbour, where the joke was that the land-lubbers were pointing at each other for who should be shot by the cannon next, the whole "not me, get him instead" situation. So the cannon goes back and forth, until two land-lubbers agree to point at the one on the far right, who desperately points at them before being blasted away. It's a classic gag you'd see in a Looney Toons skit, and nothing like that is present in the Reignited version of that scene.
Again, why bother changing something if you're not going to improve on it? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. They might be minor changes in the grand scheme of things, but they're far from my only problem with Reignited, and if I can say this much about the trimmed-out humour.. well.
I still think the joke comes across. Just instead of doing absolutely nothing, he makes little effort when we know he's capable of more. He's still being lazy, just in a different way.
I mean, I like both Hunters, but I definitely prefer the original. I just like the dumb, I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing kind of character, and the voice perfectly matched that. The Reignited Hunter is more of a radical cool dude type, and while I don't mind that, I just think its not like the original character.
What I also don't understand is why TFB got Hunter's original voice actor into Reignited but didn't have him voice Hunter. Like, what???
His voice wouldn't fit the new design of the character.
Hey I like both too :D
P.S.
5:50 - I'd suggest giving an analysis on the extra playable characters in Spyro 3. They've all obviously improved in controls (especially Agent 9), but I'd like to know your take on their characters in Reignited.
I did one on Sheila, but she was the only one that I feel actually changed at all, only because her design was so drastically different. The others remained pretty much the same in terms of design and personality, so there isn't much to say about them.
@@MiharuTheFox oh yeah, almost forgot about that. I did comment my thought on them in that video.
Another suggestion that just crossed my mind is Handel and Greta. They may be just side characters, but they're pretty unique compared to most of the other side characters. (there was a serious issue with Handel on the original Spyro 3 that I'm so glad that TfB fixed in Reignited)
I love the original Hunter, but I like the direction this one went. I actually liked the concept of Hunter not really liking Spyro at first. It was interesting and enjoyable, especially how he reacted to Spyro's sass.
To be honest "generic" is a pretty good descriptor for the vast majority of the voices in the remake.
And I actually liked the way Hunter seemed to be talking down to you in the originals; he came off as an incompetent jerk with a heart of gold, and I really like that.
Still, that's just my opinion, and yours is equally valid.
Definitely!! Toned up more and I looove him for it!
hunter was my favourite in A heroes tale when I played it as a kid. and in reignited I love him even more, the surfer dude dialog stuff is a huge vibe I get from him. I love him more if that was possible. I want a heroes tail to be reignited so we can play as him in glorious HD his new VA is way better
He looks a lot like Hero's Tail Hunter but with a different head
In the originals, he was more of a nice, gentle teacher or mentor, in the remake he’s more of a cool friend.
as long as he is still naked and still the lovable idiot, the changes are great, the bow and arrows added communicates he actually is a Hunter when he is offscreen and not just some random cheata.
Well I like this version of Hunter. Many one too. So you're not alone in this :)
Yeah, this Hunter fits more as his portray of comic relief/friendly character. Even his quotes in many parts of the game are really good with him.
While in the original he sounded more like a scary pussycat all the time, here he is like the cool but fool buddy who tries to be useful.
So, this Hunter is great.
Great analysis Miharu! Accurate and amazing as always! 💜✨
They made Hunter SO much cooler in the reignited trilogy. I went from dreading seeing him in the original trilogy to loving seeing him around
Old Hunter: Derpy, cowardly, silly boi
New Hunter: Awkward surfer boi DUUUUUUUUUUDE.
I'm pretty okay with the change. Took a while to get used to his design, but it's fine. I don't know, the only thing I didn't like was the shape of his head. Idk why it doesn't sit with me correctly. Maybe it's because I had a neutral view throughout the series, old and new. He looks like an actual adult anthro character. I like that he looks more active now to kinda hint on the kind of character he becomes in the later games. Personality wise, I also think he's fine. I think I huffed in a chuckling way or something when I saw some of his goofy moments. I'm not one to like the stereotypical surfer dude voice, but it didn't sound too overdone, unlike a certain otter from Hero's Tail.
And I think I would choose the awkward skater dude over the dopey stoner voiced boi in most days. He doesn't sound like he's slow talking to a child.
I thought it was too dudebro for me. BUT OMG I KNOW WHAT OTTER YOURE TALKING ABOUT, I FORGOT ABOUT THAT GUY, IT WAS DRIVING ME NUTS AAAAAH
hEY, YOU NAILED ALL OF THE TARGET
Hunter's new personality in Reignited reminds me so much of Branch from the Trolls movies. Imagine Hunter being voiced by Justin instead of Robbie...
2-24-75,ha ha that’s my birthday-Hunter,1999
One thing that I miss actually a lot is Blink the mole and I hope if they make anew spyro game that they reinvent him
heh my friend Lukethefox likes to refer to Hunter's voice in the original Spyro 2 as "A bad John Wayne impersonation." I also really like his refined design in the Reignited Trilogy, and the animation really gives him a lot more personality. Especially that face that he makes when Spyro's talking back to him in the intro to Spyro 2. I was fine with Hunter back in the original but looking back at it now, the model hasn't aged well. I mean, that mouth, it makes him look like a frikkin Muppet. At least now he looks more like a Cheetah and the little detail of keeping that bow and quiver on him was also nice. And he has a more consistent sounding voice which was great! Rather odd how he had a deep and low voice in the original Spyro 2 and then sounding higher in the original Spyro 3.
I liked how his wide mouth was in one of his concept art pieces. Either way I like him much less in general in voice acting appearance and personality :/
I think people make more exception for Hunter voice wise because, well, they freaking had Gregg Berger there to reprise Ripto anyway.
1:46 - Come to think of it, he does kinda sound like Sonic in Sonic Forces (another low rated game that I actually like). Especially when thinking of that game's theme-song, "Fist Bump", which is btw one of my favorite songs ever.
@@peterkaboomitrain242 excuse me?
That's the thing about technology we use nowadays. If we had it back in the 90's, these characters would be pretty similar (or even the same) as they are now, and no one would complain.
I love hunter.
His new model looks great but his old iconic voice is still great and while his new voice is not bad i miss his old voice.
The fact that he actually looks like a cheetah now is why I prefer his Reignited design.
Great video!
“hEy, yOu nAiLeD aLl oF tHe TaRgeTs!”
yeah I think Hunter was always SUPPOSED to be like this, but they didnt do it right originally, so they fixed the new one, they gave him a new better voice actor he can actually voice act, they gave him way better animations, imo he felt like he was always SUPPOSED to be spyros buddy/rival, but he just came off as an obstructing yet charming obstacle in the game, but in the new one, they've changed him to perfectly nail the true intent and vibe he was supposed to be, this feels like a patch/fix and upgrade
00:29-00:39: The Chimp in Super Mario Galaxy 2, for one.
Thank you for making this video. I'm always defending the new change Hunter has made in the reignite trilogy. The funny thing is that I love both versions of them. Hunter in Reignite trilogy is like your best friend that's always in competition with you. Old Hunter is like a Goofy uncle that talks like you're a child that's willing to give you a treat if you help him out on chores. I think kids who didn't grew up with the original trilogy would like hunter as much.
Hunter is now lowkey bae.
Whaaaat? It’s sacrilegious to consider Reignited Hunter to be your favorite?? That’s unfortunate because I really like him too! Both his voice and design.
I'll have to re-evaluate your opinions when i buy the game... (waiting for pc release, if not switch)
You described the old hunters voice perfectly, a stoner xD
i loved his look when i first saw it 5 out of 5
The *second* I heard how the "new" Hunter speaks - I realized that the "old" one is better. Not because of nostalgia, though.
The old one talked slowly, and emphasized on the key words. He wasn't like your hip skater/surfer buddy - he was acting like your ... dad. The one who wants to make you, y'know ... learn. No wonder he was the "tutorial" character.
The "old" Hunter wanted to pass the knowledge of doing things to you in a way even a youngest child would understand, and the "new" one delivers the "Here are the instructions. You got them? Yes? No? Well, no matter, I'm in a hurry, you'll be fine." vibe, imho.
And the looks of the "new" Hunter reminds me of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer. Sure, he received the improved looks (with the help of DX11), but lost his goofy uniqueness, becoming an explicitly mediocre cartoon cheetah.
You already discussed how *the way* dialog lines were spoken affected the gameplay experience, in your Bianca and Elora vids - it's the same with Hunter. When I first heard *how* he explained the gliding mechanics in Spyro 2 (sadly, started from the second Spyro game), and I thought to myself "I *will* master gliding! I must!". And how intriguing Hunter sounded when he said about seeing "something shining over there" (end part of a gliding tutorial in Spyro 3), and the acting perfection within the "It's a cat thing." line (when Hunter explains how to swim underwater in Spyro 3). All of that was "converted" into "average" voice lines you hear in the mediocre Saturday cartoon series on your local cable TV...
I feel the same way about it
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
I agree with you though
Actually, that was probably what they were going for. I felt most of the original trilogy fans played the games a kids. When I first got the game, I was still trying to learn how to read, so I think the slow way of speaking helped younger player (such as myself at the time) a lot with gameplay instructions.
I know this is very likely the nostalgia goggles talking but old Hunter being a sarcastic coward was a lot more fun to me as a kid like just yelling at Ripto to give it back because he’s too much of a coward to actually try and take him on always cracks me up. New Hunter feels very… Saturday morning cartoon character if you get me, it feels like this one wouldn’t wait around watching Avalar get ruined without stepping in whereas I see the old one absolutely waiting for someone else to do most of the heavy lifting because there’s no chance HE can take on Crush, Gulp and Ripto.
I do appreciate that the reignited gave him his bow and arrows though, no matter how rarely they were used
I love him better in the re make
So much personality and I’m a huge fan of him holding his bow love that little extra touch
I actually love Hunter in the reignited trilogy as well.
I love that they got rid of his bad case of Muppet-Mouth
Ok, so I KNEW I remembered another version of Hunter... and just replayed he game he was in - Hero's Tail. For that game, he dropped the slow-talking dummy persona, but still kept the "I'm awesome, I got this" attitude. imo, best characterization of Hunter.
I prefer design upgrades rather than design replacements, but his design is still good. The "tearstripes" are a little distracting in still images, but can look fine in animation.
I knew I wasn’t alone! I love Hunter in reignited. His cool surfer dude voice and attitude grew on me.
I completely agree with you about Hunter! In the original he came across quite condescending whereas his Reignited one breathed new life into the character. Sure he's not the brightest but that's part of his charm. In the original he came across as a patronizing jerk but Reignited makes him the loveable dork he was always meant to be.
Hunter's character model is definitely loads better compared to the original too. Although the graphics have something to do with that anyway.
nice job on the video, and I have to agree
There is something about the design that I love about both of them, the original hunter was like a Winnie the Pooh character, while reignited is like Madagascar or Zootopia (but without the clothes and all that) and one is either more laid back or more goofier than the other, so I'm just hooked on both.
I'm glad reignited had more character though, although I'm not really good at analyzing things so I enjoy both regardless lol
Hunter is my favorite character in the Spyro franchise, and dude, the reignited version is by far my favorite. Also, great video buddy!
What if the Pufferfish from crash bandicoot got him? What then?
2:39 i never seen hunter so pissed before 😂
I think the orrigional portrays his weeknesses more (i.e. being dumb, cowerdly and jellous), while reignighted portrays his strengths more. (i.e. being athletic, acrobatic, and a good sport.)
...
Remeber, Hunter was abit of a celebrity in Avalar's Speedways, before Spyro came allong and beet Hunter's records.
The only thing about reignited is that they added the floss dance to the skeleton dance.
I never really understood why Hunter wants Spyro to complete minigames to give him the required collectibles. What?
Either way I kind of like Reignited Hunter better than the original. Voice included, but I'm wondering how well his original voice would've been in Reignited. Either way, his new oice fits him well.
"An idiot, sure, but a buddy nonetheless."
xD Well summed.
Well he’s not a complete idiot. He does invent all those gadgets. Kind of like Jimmy Neutron but with a much smaller head. Only Hunter doesn’t come off as a genius in a sense. Jimmy DEFINITELY does. Hunter is smart but he’s just too laid back and humble to show off his brain. He’d rather compete with you in a who can collect the most crystal popcorn. Jimmy wouldn’t stand a chance
And then theres the hunter with the New Beginning series who is dark, mysterious, and just awsome
Old hunter looked more like a clam than a cheetah tbh
Hunters original design was passed down to season of ice season of flam enter the dragonfly
A hero's tail Spyro orange and shadow legacy
Hunters design in Dawn of the dragon... there was probably alot of mixed feelings about that since the Spyro fanbase became sort of divided
Late to the party but I prefer the Reignited Hunter as well!
Aside from his new design, which I love - I just like how he feels more like a buddy to me rather than just some awkward cheetah that sometimes shows up throughout the journey. And I actually like that he is a comic relief character that also shows more seriousness in his dialouge; I think he was absolutely improved
I was one of the people who didn't like the change but hearing an opinion on the other side has made me more open to it
"He annoyed me greatly, way more so than moneybags"
Girl. We are on two different wavelengths.
That's okay, I prefer having a different opinion.
I love his redo design and animation wise. My only down with new hunter is his VA wasn't very dynamic between scenes (kinda used the same approach on every line unlike the original putting him in different attitude, example being the original achemist mission). But same can kinda be said about the direction of the voices in reignited in general I suppose.
This is coming from someone who never played the original as a kid, but I like new Hunter a lot more. Just acts a lot more like I would expect a character based on a cheetah to act. He looks 100x times better, and I think the voice acting is an improvement
Hunter new version is quite cool and he looks more fun than before i think his new voice is an improvement when compared to to his original voice.
Hunter in the original trilogy doesn't look like a cheetah he mostly resembles a Meerkat but in the Reignited trilogy he resembles more of an actual cheetah🐆
In classic Spyro, I looked at Hunter and his mouth is too long to talk. In Reignited, I looked at him and he's just perfect without the long mouth.
New Hunter's voice is technically of higher quality, but Old Hunter's voice was so bad it was good. The same goes for their personalities and even their designs.
They've very different, but I like both of them about the same.
From burger head to french fry fingers. What is it with the makers try making look like he's made out of mcDonalds?
