Had my ‘16 challenger SXT for about a year now. Looking to start working on it soon but have no experience with cars. Thank you for an easy going simple walkthrough.
I know I'm a late poster in this video is a year old, but if anybody comes across this video when you're installing this cold air intake, if you look at your headlight there is a little cup that you can pop out to let air into the headlight and it'll have more airflow in your engine bay that way
Oh my God. I installed mine months ago and just realized I used that rubber bushing the wrong way this hole time, like you did initially. I thought it was suppose to just be a bumper and just rest against the sheet metal. LOL, will fix today. I always thought that it was kind of a cheesy way to do things.
i just bought my charger gt 2021 and i was trying to figure out how to install a new intake that i got and there is not any videos that explain how to do it but thanks to you i have an idea now 🙏
Am interested in having something polished/shiny in the engine bay but - wow - your point about metal and air intake - I hadn't even thought of that. Watching...
Remember to do maintenance on open air filters like K&N. Especially since they have a open structure. So special oil for filters and clean them on interval base.
Looking back almost a year, what would you recommend for a 2022 Dodge Charger GT (V6) owner when it comes to a cold-air intake? Tell me more and thanks again for this great video!
nice vid, I did the same thing to mine, but I left the engine cover off and is seems to have a little more snap with the cover off because the intake is cooler..
When you connected your pvc hose to the intake by the throttle body, did you use a rubber shrink tube to close the seal? If not what exactly did you use?
Had issues with that last bolt that came attached to a bracket. The screw wouldn’t screw despite me using the flat washer and the waved washer as the video indicated
I had to cut that line (prior to the white locking mechanism) then slipped and clamped a hose running from it to the 90 degree elbow at the other end of the intake tube bottom. I had no other way of making that connection and it worked fine.
I've got a question for ya tiki71 I have a 2022 charger sxt 3.6L with the same set up how exactly did you hook up the vent hose since it had that white looking plastic piece on the crankcase hose?
@@shainamathey9391 Was I talking about the white connector on the left side of the factory intake tube? If so I think I just pressed 2 sides with my fingers and pulled it apart. There is a black plastic adapter in your K&N kit that will go onto the long tube they give you and the other end pops in to replace half of the white piece you disconnected. There is a left over adapter in the kit that is for some other model Dodge. If you have any questions I will try to help. For me the toughest thing was getting the O2 (I think) sensor screwed into the K&N tube, at least for the aluminium tube it was a PITA.
@borri68 Thank you! I have a feeling the piece is just being stubborn. I'm actually trying to install a different brand, but fighting the same issue of the crankcase hose swapping sides. The kit I have supplies a hose and says to disconnect the old one from the back by the firewall and route it to the driver's side like the 2019 and older models. I'm not sure how badly I want to try that. (AFE CAI for a 2020 Challenger GT AWD.)
2 questions and it might be dumb my challenger gt is 2022 would it still work and also for that extra piping you had is that a need cause i dont have any extra
I got rid of the line that Mishimoto supplied and used the red lines from the parts store. One goes to the crankcase and the other is routed to the intake.
Do you notice any power gains? Is it getting enough air in that little cubbyhole? Maybe it would work better if took out some of the excess plastic so a little more air makes it through the grill in to the engine bay 🤔, just a thought.
@@YNW_Quaz what i meant was did you use separate valve connector to plug both pvc hose and the yellow plastic opening or did you just connect the pvc hose into the yellow opening? I was kinda confused on how he connect the pvc hose into the yellow plastic part near the throttle body.
I don’t know the exact numbers but I’ve consistently heard somewhere between high single and low double digits gains for both so proooobably between 8-12?

Interesting, i live in oregon so i need as much protection as possible from the rain however.
@@aaronstechtips front is fine, it should come with a cover for the top vent though
Thanks so much! Me and my pops just finished installing it on my challenger literally seconds ago thanks to your vid. You are the master good sir!
Just wanted to thank you for this video helped me out extremely I thought I was going to pull my hair out trying to install this filter😅

When I did mine I did exactly what the chick in the American Muscle video did. She should be fired ha!
Subscribed! I put in the MOPAR CAI and ran into the issue with the switching of the PVC hose to the passenger side. You saved the day!!! Thanks!
Glad it helped.
Great video very informative, just installed mines sounds and feels amazing💯💪🏾😤

About to install cold air intake on my charger, wish me luck! I have the tools but almost thinking of paying a mechanic 100 to install it.
Great video. Been very helpful

How do I disconnect the crankcase vent hose? I've been told many different ways to do it, but I don't want to risk doing it wrong at breaking it.
Thank you!!!
Thank you
Nice video, have you noticed improved hp and fuel economy after installing this and how has it been after 6 months?
It's been good. If she drives conservatively on the highway, we're seeing mid 30mpgs.
Any insight on something like this Vs. one of the sealed cold air intakes? Really appreciated your video and am eager to view more! Thanks!
When you connected your pvc hose to the intake by the throttle body, did you use a rubber shrink tube to close the seal? If not what exactly did you use?
I just slid the hose over the K & n connection. It's a good tight fit.

Where is the direction of the air intake sensor when installing the Antique Sport?
Excellent video, but could you please explain what you use to connect the hose? I have the same car and I am going to install the modification
The kit comes with a replacement plastic piece which fits into the tube and the crank case.
is that stock exhaust are is it aftermarket...if so what is the set up that you did really liking that sound
Thank you. It cost me less than $200. Rear resonator delete: ua-cam.com/video/MkqEnJnKCD4/v-deo.html

I had to cut that line (prior to the white locking mechanism) then slipped and clamped a hose running from it to the 90 degree elbow at the other end of the intake tube bottom. I had no other way of making that connection and it worked fine.
Could you please help me how you reroute crankcase vents hole from the front to the
Hole.under the air intake.
Can i see a picture on how did you install the crankcase Vent Hose (By the throttle body) through the CAI ? Pls.
ses pour cela qui faut du tape thermique or pour garder froid meme sur le plastique utilise
I have a 2021 GT as well, the Amazon link says it does not fit, this just the website being weird?
It's the model I used.

your power died at just the wrong spot. how do you unclip that hose connector? i have a 2023 and need to use the included long hose

My challenger doesn't have the crankcase ventilation hose??
What did you do to the make up hose. Did you plug it in confused on that
Can I have the info in the throttle body?
What did you connect that line to that wouldn’t reach anywhere !!?

Where are u ordering ur throttle body from
I have a 2020 charger gt with 2 super 10 will the cold air intake make it sound better
Yes.

Yeah I took out the fake light and installed a round grille and did get a bit of gain and good sound from the CAI.
Can you explain how to connect to breather hose
Did you find out
How did you get the breathing tube to the other side for the intake ?
I talked about that here: ua-cam.com/video/f0Hubc7haBs/v-deo.html
Did you keep the yellow part on and just taped the extra tube to it ?

Plastic holdes heat more
Put a piece of metal and plastic out in the sun. Put your hand on them and you tell me which holds more heat.
All you need is a RIPP supercharger to take your v6 to the max.
Cool, that’s like $6,000. 🤡
Why chase hp on a 6 cylinder save up for a real engine
It's the wife's car. V6 is a playground for doing mods. Not much that really needs to be done to an SRT Scat Pack and such.
Let people like what they want to like.
Better mpg
my 1.5 hr daily commute is why i pick the sxt over the RT. i average 28. mpg. not gonna get that with an RT.
