- The plaintiff says he unknowingly rented an illegal apartment from the scamming defendant, and she evicted him onto the street and treated him like a criminal. He’s suing for damages. The defendant says she rented the apartment to a woman, but instead the male plaintiff showed up and never left, claiming to be a tenant of hers but never was. She says she even had to call the police to get him to leave. The defendant claims the plaintiff has no lease with her, and therefore she does not owe him any money.

This man came to court more than prepared. He had receipts, videos, photos. He knew what care she drove. He had text messages and her bank account information. He even knew her real estate broker. Still after all of that she dares claims not knowing him or at the very least, meeting him. Unbelievable. I'm surprised she didn't counter-sue him for "stalking" or harassing her.

That means either they are working as a team to deceive prospective tenants & the city to avoid fees, liability through insurance by falsifying legal documents to cover up or dispose of their paper trail. She has to be lying or working with a third party in order to avoid future legal problems &/or tax fraud. I was a property manager for many years & I cannot see how this is even possible unless you have someone assisting you & tying up loose ends on the other side. Or maybe I am wrong, but she denied everything down to never even seeing the guy before lol. She knows her mug is on TV, She's gonna deny his existence altogether.

The thing is, this woman thought because he was homeless & was in a desperate situation, she could lie & take advantage of him. Not only did he prove he wasn't a push over, he was intelligent & documented everything, he took her to court & had her profiled on television. He not only won his case, he has no doubt saved so many people from losing money to this thief & hopefully she pays legally as well. Should be a life lesson, never think you can take advantage of someone who is hitting a rough patch.

I really liked the plaintiff. He came prepared, had evidence, and openenly admitted when he made a mistake (like suing for the extra months rent). He is a real man.

Receipts. Always. Even my kids save their little ice cream receipts just from seeing mom model the behavior. I have had large companies, like ATT/Spectrum, tell me that I never returned equipment and send my account to collections. I produced a receipt from 7 years earlier, showing that I returned the equipment, and canceled the collections hold immediately. They weren’t prepared for my receipts.

Yep, that’s the way to do it. Comcast did the same thing to me even after personally sending a tech out to collect the equipment. I still had the carbon copy of the equipment receipt from years prior. Removed it from my credit report. These companies will try it
