I never followed the instructor driver's mantra of a number of car lengths to give to the vehicle in front. All I do through experience is to gauge whether I can brake in time in reaction to a sudden de-acceleration of the vehicle ahead and give the appropriate distance to it when following behind. In 45 years of driving, I've avoided joining a chain collision appropriately 10 times.
For CNY sake la they all drive like this. U must understand,They want meet their ancestors. U can't control them. How many times U advice also no point. Still same every year.
Many Drivers Still Refuses to Drive Defensively. Besides Not Tailgating, Always Drive in a Way You Can Brake in Time at Your Speed and Stop in Time, Also When You Slow Down or Stop, Ensure the Vehicle Behind Can Stop in Time and Not Kiss Your Butt. Most Importantly, On Your Hazard Lights When You Expect To Execute Heavy and Fast Brake to Warn Vehicle Behind.
I'm always amazed at camcars that can stay quiet & doesn't make any response to what they witnessed. If I'm the camcar, there'll be "lively & very colourful" scene by scene commentary 😅. Hopefully everyone involved in this chain are well and not injured. Though to many, it is bad omen opening the new year this way, but may all drivers involved have this unpleasant situations turn into good for them.
Staged accident or deliberately create accident on CNY? I observed the 1st car, a white Mazda; in front of this car no obstructions, no jam. Why this white Mazda suddenly slam brake on 1st lane? Very suspicious indeed.

The Term Road Hogging is Very Subjective. Many Tailgaters Always Feels the Car in Front Road Hog. If Your Front Vehicle Drives at 70km / h as Many Cars In Front Slow Down due to Slow Traffic, Do You Still Feels that The Car in Front is Road Hogging and Should Give Way to You?
When Traffic Condition is Heavy, Front Vehicle Cannot Drive Near Speed Limit. Do You Still Consider This Car Driving Slowly and Should Give Way to You by Changing Lane?
Bunches of old people bringing out their car for yearly practice. Not even that fast. All those sophisticated electronics cant save you from incompetency.
Sad thing is that most of the time the culprit got away without a scratch.
