Since moving up north, and finally getting a kayak, jerk bait fishing has jumped right up to my favorite technique. Frog fishing the skankiest mats will always be my deepest love, but that jerk bait bite is pretty damn fun.

I was watching a guy from west virginia making worms, creature and swim baits and he really had some cool looking baits,its a interesting process,he even did some wonder bread style swim baits that really looked good, the bass might think so too or maybe not but it would be fun to try out

Yeah I have seen bass just hit my jerkbait with a closed mouth on the back so many times through the water, it just makes me mad haha. Good tips, ill try this.

i use paint markers on my hardbaits. red like you there, sometines chartreuse or black for accents.
