The pancake is a good video lens. I use it more on the SL2. I have used the Viltrox EF-EFS to EF-M mount adapter to the M6II. It can't be used on a Viltrox ef to ef-m speedbooster. I have a speedbooster that I put with my Tamron 24-70. It shoots like a 17mm f/2.
Personally, I find it a bit wide for videography ( it makes me look even uglier than I am in real life), but I love tihs lens for photography; it takes great photos. For me, 35mm wins it for videography on a crop-sensor damera.
I use this lens on my 90D (a camera that has the reputation of "punishing" cheap lenses due to its high- resolution sensor), and it just seems to produce really pleasing images. For me, considering the purchase price of the lens, it's a no-brainer. Buy it!: it will bring pleasure to your life.
Will the Canon EF-S 24mm f2.8 STM fit onto a full Frame body like the 5D? I know it's designed for APS-C bodies, but I've read competing views as to whether it will actually fit onto a full frame body, albeit with some vignetting.
I’m unsure off hand, If the 5D accepts EF-S lenses than yes, but I think Canon Full Frame DSLR’s only accept EF ( full frame canon lenses have the Red Dot on the lens and EF-S have a white square ) so you’d need to look at the lens mounting ring on the camera body for those indicators
My copy gives very sharp and nice focused image quality but the bokeh is really crap -- not at all what you're showing. Do you think it's my copy? The sample shots of mine I'm talking about were shot at f/3.5 ... surely I don't have to have the aperture wide open to get something nice? f/3.5 isn't exactly tight.
On a wider angle lens even though it’s a 38.5mm full frame equivalent at f/3.5 it won’t give you the same blur as opening it up to f/2.8 although most of my subjects were shot up close so if you are using this lens for let’s say mostly portrait work than even at f/2.8 it won’t have a lot of blown out bokeh

Definitely! I used the EF-S 24 as my main lens for a while when I had my SL3
