Every since I saw you on U-tube I have been praying for you Rich. You do remind me of my son...maybe that's why. But I have asked the Lord to shut doors and open the one door he has for you and I believe He has answered my prayer for you. Do know this 76 yr old great grandmother prays for you. I hope that is comforting to you.
I am an avid believer in the power of prayer. What do you think put this on your heart? It wasn’t you, your feelings? God works in mysterious ways and he works through us.
Rich, I must say that I’m not surprised at your move. As a pastor/teacher for well over 40 years I’ve learned to read folk pretty well, and I noticed a month or so ago that you had lost that fire. I wish you well in your new position and especially in your new life together with your bride.
Rule #1: Work at places that are close to home. -Your 1-2hr drive each way to work is waaay to much. = Save 2-4hrs driving each day = 2-4hrs extra with family every day. Getting good health insurance for smaller companies is difficult.
As long as you put Jesus 1st everything else will fall into place. May God bless you & your family. I just got my 2018 ford escape back after having the engine/black replaced all under warranty, thanks to you!
Rich, I started my career wrenching for Ford 32 years ago. I'm a Ford man (I only drive Fords) but 22 years ago I had to make a tough decision and leave them. Went to BMW and I've never regretted it. Best decision, career wise, I've ever made. God is good. God and family first.
Rich, have been following you for a longtime. You, and your lovely wife, feel like friends. Trust your judgement! You’re bright, bold, and a valued Patriot. Blessings to you and yours. Onward and upwards.
Rich, every once in awhile we have to come to a crossroad where we need to make a decision and regardless of what decision we make, it's the RIGHT one for that moment. You do you, bud and I wish you the utmost success and happiness in this new endeavour.
My buddy had a used car business. He sold high milage auction vehicles. His customer base was all low income folks. They beat him up on the price of the car, then they beat him up on post sales repairs. Did it for many years and barely made a living. You have to think about you. Best of luck on your new journey.
Love you dude , just hope that you would follow in Ray's footsteps and open your own shop someday , no need for anything big or fancy , just something where the work you do is truly benefiting you and only you . Good luck on your new adventure !
I couldn’t agree more. I believe that’s in the not too distant future. Depending on what happens come November of course and that goes for all of us legal citizens.
I found this channel about two months ago, my father and I started a business 12 years ago the first 5 years was awful, my father and I didn’t eat, he used up all his credit so his employees would be paid, while we suffered. There were a lot of sleepless nights worrying, but we believed in my father, and we turned it around. I believe in you, you seem like an honest guy. Good luck to your family and yourself!
I'm very happy for you my brother. I wish you the very best in your new job. I wish you the very best in your new life as a married man and father. You now have so many subscribers that there's no way you can possibly remember all of us early in your UA-cam channel subscribers. You might remember me possibly may remember me , due to my hundreds of super chat contributions to you and your growing channel when you worked at Dundee Ford , long before your knee injury. I'm body man Bob from Northern Virginia, my lovely wife of 45 years bought land and had a beautiful home built here in Alabama. We are both retired and grand parents. I'm a Senior Master automotive collision tech with 47 years in the business. My best advice for you my friend is put as much money into your 401K or I R A as you can , I did what I'm advising you to do , time flies so fast . My wife and I are living a wonderful retirement life now and I want the same for you and your wife . Do not think Social Security will be there when you and your wife retire. A young friend is a certified Volvo mechanic. I met him a few years ago when he was 24, working for a classic Volvo shop in Portland. He has encyclopedic Volvo knowledge, high work ethic & integrity. He was getting paid crap ($15-20/hr) by the shop owner, if he got paid at all. Long story short, he's now running his own shop now & charging $100/hr. Just heard you say VW. I used to be a VW fan & have had VW & Audi, but my current S4 has to have the engine pulled to change the timing belt. WT Heck? I've switched to old Volvos now. Specialize & you will do well. Consider working on your own or starting your own shop.
Happy Independence Day Rich, and all the other service members of this channel! Let’s all be safe and fun! God bless the USA and God bless the Patriots!!
I've mentioned this before but it's worth writing again. Cheap and or poor customers are bad for business. Good luck in your new venture. It was obvious it wasn't going to work out there.
Yep. I try explaining that to a friend with a glass business. He undercuts on pricing and get that clientele. They abuse him, his time and his wallet. He just won't listen to me though. These people that buy beyond their means are SOL with repairs because a lot of shops won't touch them.
@@THEjasonTDI I'm an automotive locksmith. Our starting price on a mobile lost key is $250. Most blade keys with transponders are $250. Most push to start fobs are $350. We use mostly OEM fobs. We had a lot of bad experience with cheap aftermarket keys and fobs. We provide a warranty also. We are still cheaper than the dealer plus we come out to our customers. They don't need the car towed either. I look at it this way. I don't have competition. Guys who buy cheap fobs and charge $100 aren't my competition. Those customers can't get these guys to return when the fob stops working. They also are customers I don't want. They don't appreciate quality work, just price. Those guys never last either. If you want to be able to do this right you have to have an account with NASTF. Most of these Chuck in a truck guys won't pay the fees so they can't do all the cars. They also buy the cheapest programmers which do not have as much coverage as the more expensive ones. Customers get who they are willing to pay for and I am perfectly fine with that. We run 80 to 150 calls per week. I turn down jobs where right away they start to argue with me about price. I know they aren't someone I want to work for. If I didn't have the business I might have to change my attitude and kiss a little ass but fortunately I can pick and choose who to work for.
I'm on year 30 now as an Automotive Technician , A few Indys, a Franchise and 4 brands of Dealers in 3 states. Mercedes, Chrysler, VW and Infiniti/Nissan. My Young self 30 years ago went after Mercedes for the Money. I found the young idea to be wise beyond my years. I'm back at a Benz Dealer and will have 20 years with that brand in 2 years. What has kept me in the Dealers is the Benifits. 401, Health Insurance, Vacation ETC, The thing that made me go back to benz is the Money. Benz Dealer tend to be less stingy with the techs I always assumed this but experienced this first hand with every other brand I had worked for. Dealers are sometimes hard to wrap your head around. They can be a good long term place to work. These days the dealerships are having a harder and harder time finding techs and I see them taking better care of us. Used cars is a Nice Gig. Less Stress than the main line. EIther Way, consider the benifits, build up that 401K and Pay off that house.
Ain’t that the truth, “they drive vehicles they can’t afford”! Then they can’t afford to do maintenance on them. Best of luck! Remember family will be with you long after the job is done. Blessings to you and your family.

Best wishes on your new move. I retired early and went to work for myself 4 years ago. Swallowing the insurance bill every month has been a little tough but I don’t believe I could go back to corporate life. Having a family and kids is the best gift I’ve received in life and they do need to be #1. Look forward to seeing the channel with your new position.
I'm very happy for you Rich! Wish you all the best in your new position. Very glad to hear they are okay with your Video Work as I really enjoy the shop work you cover on your channel. Hopefully the new location is not in Chicago. I do Field Service work covering the northern Illinois area, and my day is much better when I am not going into Chicago. Good Luck - I'm sure you will make it happen!
I could tell that the grass wasn't all that green at Brighton. I think you'll do great in your new position. Wishing you and your family a Happy and Safe 4th of July!

Family first! I went through a lot to make sure my kids got the best available. To do that I went through several crap jobs sometimes working for (as I later found out) unethical people. I could only take so much. Finally landed a position that checked all the necessary boxes and stayed until I retired. Some mighty tough choices along the way but it all worked out. Sometimes you have to take what some may consider a step back in order to move forward. Only you know what is best for you and your family and that’s what counts.
❤ It takes a true man to learn and grow. You’ve put in a lot of hard work to get where you are. Your not ( jumping into anything ) your doing what any smart person would do. Your growing and adapting. Much love and respect. Your in my prayers. With all that being sad go out there and crush your new opportunity! 😁
As always, I'm wishing you the best luck, Sir. As we're in military said... "gotta adjust fire " you also did the right thing that you didn't burn the old bridge. I'm supper supportive, because I've been in that situation. Be bless 🙌
Follow your heart & you'll never be wrong....March forward into endeavors. Volkswagen is a brand with a lot of footprint in this country dating back to the 70's oil -fuel crisis days with the V.w. Bug, Rabbits & Gulfs were everywhere for years in the 1980's then the refresh into the 2000's millennial era was lucrative because Jetta's sild like hotcakes. My brother even has a 2016 vw Jetta so hopefully the transition into new surroundings treats you well and steady.
Honestly Rich, it’s nice to have a week day off. Get all your dentist doctor stuff etc. done and you don’t have to miss hours at work. Good luck with your new endeavour
U faught ya a$$ off to get where you are!,from a broken home as a kid to fighting for ovlur country you bust as$ working up the ranks in dealership life... people like you is mentorship that this country needs true honest and raw to the point!

Congratulations Rich. I know you put your heart and soul into Brighton. But you do have to do what's best for you and the family. Just not enough money coming in to grow the business

You deserve the best for you and your family. The VW dealer is lucky to have you.
Good for you m8! Sometimes we gamble on a venture and it doesn't work out, starting fresh and clean is a good start! Cheers.

Congrats on your new job! Hope it goes well! I own 2 VW’s.
CONGRATS brother! Good for you man seriously.
Rich, that's great news!! Hope it all works out to your satisfaction.
Sometimes you have to take what some may consider a step back in order to move forward. Only you know what is best for you and your family and that’s what counts.
Excited for you, Glad to see you moved on and prays for bigger and better for you and for the family

I appreciate that
Have a great Independence Day Rich, wishing you the best🎉
As always, I'm wishing you the best luck, Sir. As we're in military said... "gotta adjust fire " you also did the right thing that you didn't burn the old bridge. I'm supper supportive, because I've been in that situation. Be bless 🙌
Congrats with your new change! 🎉
