I got chills when you said it felt like there was a veil of protection around the structures with the people and animals inside. Thank God ❤ sending prayers and positive vibes. Once the worst is over, I would love to see a video from you about all the things you would've done to prepare better for a natural disaster.
Please do not apologize. Praying for everyone. Anyone that says we should have been prepared just does not understand that no one knew it would be this catastrophic. I live about an hour from Asheville and it is devastating to witness what has happened. Keep making and posting content. We will keep watching.

I LOVE seeing The American Flag still waving. Reminds of The Star Spangled Banner “that our flag was STILL THERE” Praying this horrible storm will help remind us we’re Americans. Praying it will help Unite us as a country, state, city, family, neighbors, friends. It’s so great to see neighbors helping neighbors. Strangers helping strangers. My heart aches at the devastation so many have suffered and are continuing to suffer from. Pray for one another and for our country as a whole. 🙏

Many years ago my husband and I lived in Houston Texas and the big hurricane hit Houston. We were without power gas propane anything for three solid weeks. We learned even in the big cities when disaster hits you cannot rely on anything but yourself. You Will survive this and you will learn from this and you'll become a better stronger family after this. Remember not everybody was so lucky. We are very blessed to live in the United States, with people who help one another and that's how we survived in a disaster our neighborhood came together and neighbor helped neighbor with everything. And when the power comes back on it'll be a blessing and people will go back to their normal lives but you will never forget.
my heart goes out to you. After the major flood in Nashville 10 or so years ago we completely changed our household emergency plans. You'll all be in our prayers. I look forward to hearing how your future emergency planning changes as it can make all of us better prepared.

Angie I am grateful all of you are safe. When you spoke of a future video there are a few things I would like to add. I'm 75yrs, my two children are 30 and 90 minutes away and all of us live in No Calif. A few years ago, a very heavy snowfall hit us which left me on my own for a week and my daughter 16 days (son is in Tahoe so he only worried about me). I had bought three satellite phones, so we all communicated immediately which "I'm okay" is all we needed. The three are about $2500. a year but I can't afford Starlink. My children made sure my generator was a "push start" and my gas cans were 2 & 1/2 gallons, rather than 5, so I could lift them on my own which was a heaven sent. They had previously pulled my frig out to bring the cord from behind because I cannot move it. Lastly, I have a chargeable light with 2 detachable lights I recharge when the generator is on during the day. These things made riding it out manageable for a senior and hope it helps you with ideas.

A great prepping item for those with wells Is a manual pump for the well. If it is a deep, well, like ours, you have to also attain enough pvc to reach the water level.

Please never apologize for the need to work to support family with sharing your content. I am here for you always, no one would have believed the size of the storm and yes we have warning here in Florida BUT the storms change directions all the time so in your area and the path of storm. It was because of the flooding, mudslides and all the homes that are built on the side of mountains. I have family that live in North Carolina and live up in the mountains in Silva NC, the only road to get down was washed out by the flooding. Praying 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

We went through one of the largest fires in our state recorded. My best friend was awaken at 2 am by a sheriff he grabbed her physically shoved her in his truck because the fire was engulfing her home. That was the most horrific emergency we have been through. So i understand the craziness you are going through. I am so sorry

We are in Anderson! We lost power for a couple days but I can't imagine how we would have had to manage if it lasted longer than that. It was a wakeup call for how we are not prepared. Praying for you and yours!

I’m so happy y’all are safe, that’s the biggest blessing. If yall need ANYTHING, this community is always willing to help so PLEASE don’t hesitate to ask for help! I live in south east Texas and have learned the hard way the last 27 years that hurricanes can be VERY unpredictable. Everything I’m seeing after this hurricane breaks my heart and I wish I could do more. We love you and will support you and your family however we can!!❤❤
Hurricanes don’t hit here every year but I still do the prep just in case. If I could recommend anything for future reference it would be:
-A generator (one big enough to run fridges, freezers, maybe a window unit for one room for every one to sleep in, sewer system & well. We trade off breakers for when we need the water and lights etc)
-bottled water, I get gallon jugs too
-fill tubs with water before losing power to use to flush toilets. Use buckets.
- canned food, snacks like granola bars, chips, etc. keeps kiddos out of the fridge.
-I got a four pack of small battery powered lanterns on Amazon that have come in handy every time we lose power.
-batteries, candles, baby wipes.
-lots of backup gas cans for that generator
-animals food
If anyone wants to add to it, feel free!! This is just stuff I stay stocked on especially before hurricane season.
Yes, and even when you prep, how good is your prep when your whole house gets washed away?

@@yaimavolI would rather prepare and be ready than not prepare and have to deal with the consequences. Preparing simply lightens the load.
I am in SWVA, and im still processing this past week. Our neighborbood had dozens and dozens of trees uprooted, as you said. I know one family lost their home.😢 Our power got restored Tuesday night but so many are still without. My moms hometown of Damascus flooded, and it's just so devastating. I can relate to so much of this. The devastation of all of our communities is hard to grasp. One thing I've learned is that our communities have banded together and we can depend on each other.

Here in Florida we are prepared for hurricanes every year from June to December however, it is still devastating I live 15 miles from the Atlantic Ocean I feel your pain Please never apologize for the need to work to support family with sharing your content. I am here for you always. PS get battery operated fans that will help. My friend on the west coast of Florida the flooding damaged his entire home, everything had to be trashed. But they are alive and will be able to rebuild.

I’m a new subscriber from CA and I’m praying your power comes on sooner than expected. My prayers go out to all people impacted by this hurricane. I, too, have wonderful memories of Blowing Rock and Asheville and grateful we were there in 2018. I have relatives in NC so it’s my 2nd home. They are in Cary and didn’t get too many downed branches this time.

Wow! It’s when we realize how comfortable are our lives in normal situations.
My postman was on vacation in Florida last week, Tallahassee I think, and he told me that he was waiting for the hurricane to arrive and at the last minute it took a completely different direction, so they didn’t have much damages. They were lucky, and obviously you were less lucky.
I wish you the best, it can only improve from now on, but it must be very complicated, I’m sorry to hear all this.
And you still find the way to help other people and little puppies, wow! I am amazed by your generosity.
