It is not a very difficult job. If you are doing this on a lift expect 2.5 hours or so. On jacks on the ground will make it quite a bit more difficult, so probably around 3.5 hours. As long as you follow the instructions, there will be no guesswork involved, and no specialty tools are needed.
If it you don't like the sound of the downpipe alone, consider also adding a catback exhaust. The factory catback is what it limiting the nice growl these engines can make on the B9 chassis. :)

That is the worst sounding exhaust I have ever heard. This video has put me off from doing the conversion on my B9. It sounds like a sick kitten.

You'll need a tune, CEL will be present. Revo Stage 2 software or an O2 spacer will fix it.
