    I bought one of these back in 2005. Looked exactly like yours. I found the keys too springy and light, so I went and bought a box of 1/4" nuts and some plastercine and stuck the steel nuts under the keys. There's a bit of a cavity there where they overhang at the ends. Worked great. Fully weighted synth action keys.

    Using mine in Live, everything works in Windows 10, drivers get sorted automatically. Playing the free (only for a while) Synth 25 from native instruments. Only problem is lower G not working, not really a big deal. Sometimes music limitations can help, less is more...

    • @cipstechitips1574
      @cipstechitips1574  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Goldenultra! It is good to hear you are using and enjoying your MIDI. That low-G problem is a bit of a puzzle. How low is that low-G. MIDI's can play more than 88 notes, maybe 127 notes, cheers.

    • @goldenultra
      @goldenultra 3 роки тому +2

      @@cipstechitips1574 The low G is the lowest G, so not really a problem. I did open it up but I couldn't find anything wrong. I also bought the M-Audio Axiom 25 USB MIDI Controller. Which I found too complex, after touch is too complex. Also the USB port was not connecting, I did try soldering it and I got power to work, but Windows said there was a malfunction with the USB. Though it says it is semi weighted when u open the Axiom you realise the keys are not weighted, they simply use springs under the keys. I just found it over complex and binned the Axiom yesterday, I prefer something that works and is simple. With lower keys bass it is much more difficult to know the difference in tone, so it is not a big deal. Obviously if the middle G did not work then it would be a problem.

      In Ableton Live I click on the "MIDI" button in the upper right corner of the screen. This changes the colors of everything on the screen. For my piano instrument controls on the screen, I click on "Volume" then move the Modulation wheel. Then click on "MIDI" again to exit. If you do this correctly, anytime you roll the modulation wheel the volume will change. Give that a go, cheers.

      Greeting Paluto! From page 15 of the manual: reset All Controllers
      If one or more of the loaded sound patches doesn’t sound as expected, then it may mean that a MIDI CC has applied an undesired effect or other type of sound modulation to that voice. If you are unsure which MIDI controller to adjust to eliminate the effect, you can send a “Reset All Controllers” MIDI message to set all controller values to their defaults. To send a Reset All Controllers
      message:
      1. Press the Edit Mode button.
      2. Press the black key above C3 (C# 3), representing “RESET ALL CONTROLLERS.”
      3. Edit mode will exit, and all controller values will be reset to their default values.

      I had a similar connect problem with two MIDI's both M-Audio. I cannot tell what to do, but I can tell what I found. Inside the USB socket there are small metal tabs on each side. These got bent and stop making electrical ground contact. I was able to bend the tabs to restore tight contact, but I later replaced the sockets. You may need to have a tech examine the USB socket. This may not be your exact problem. Cheers.

      Greetings Chumimot! There are some standalone devices that you can connect to, but generally most people connect their MIDI Controllers to a laptop or PC/Mac. The MIDI controller is more like a computer keyboard that a musical instrument. A MIDI controller makes sounds through a Digital Audio Workstation app running on a computer, cheers.

    • @cipstechitips1574
      @cipstechitips1574  3 роки тому

      This may not be your problem but it was mine. It was a poor fitting USB connector and socket. When it made a good connection: no message, bad connection=message. Something like 'The last USB device connected failed or malfunctioned.'
      If I connected the USB cable slowly, where LEDs came on, everything was good. If I pushed the connector all the way=error message. Try that.
