    i am thankful to you for your wise illustration. But my problem is still making me mad. please suggest how to enable midi input & how to enable midi output. I am using reaper & enabled the Nektar impact lx min i2 in my reaper.Reaper recognises the control unit. PLEASE HELP or suggest to me the reference of other videos where this problem has been highlighted.

    • @EV_Music

      If you have enabled the midi output and input the way I do in the video and reaper says it's enabled there then it should work. So the problem might be the plugin that you're using. So the problem might be how the plugin you're trying to use is set up. So you might want to search for a video on how the settings in the plugin you want to use works. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully you will find a solution to your problem soon.

    This was incredibly helpful for me to get my new gear setup. I switched from a Scarlett 2i2 to a Tascam 16x08 and I have the problem of output audio being program-specific- so if I'm in Reaper, I can hear audio from Reaper, but not the browser. If I disarm recording and switch to the browser, I can hear the browser audio, but not Reaper. Any suggestions? I'm on Windows 10, but have so far only found solutions for Win7. I think it has something to do with ASIO drivers in Reaper, but no other drivers seem to work at all.

      Hey, glad you found the video useful. And your problem sounds really annoying, have you tried looking at the settings in the tascam driver program? The thing they refer to as settings panel here: tascam.com/us/product/us-16x08/top
      Maybe there's some settings there that might help 😊

      @@EV_Music Thank you! No luck, but after some more research there may be an issue with Tascam's drivers and AMD processors. I think I can live with it, or get a different interface.

      Hey, are you using reaper? This will have to be done in the DAW and or the plugin in itself. I have never really thought to do this myself but I can see the reason why one might want to do it. I will try to figure out how to do this and I will leave a comment here. 👍

      If you don't use reaper that's fine. This should help you anyway since everything works similarily in DAW's for the most part. So check this video: ua-cam.com/video/eoxpCJZuaqk/v-deo.html

      Hey man! Someone else had this problem as well, and I do too now. You can clearly see that it's working in the video. But it doesn't seem to work anymore. I don't know why. It should work when you enable both instances of the keystation in the midi device list and then assign action to those buttons, I might look into it during christmas. You could go to the reaper forums though, there's probably someone with a lot more knowledge than me there that can help.

      @@EV_Music no no, noone knows)) I solved myself - you should enable second port, as you said, then press advanced + daw + enter (octave change lights become green), it sends midi notes on arrow keys. If press adv+daw+enter (octave lights become red), it sends transport control messages play/stop/rec, and arrow keys scrolls track. If I hadnt see your video, I'd think it's not working at all 💁‍♂️

    do i need a software to produce sound or can i just play without a software

    • @EV_Music
      @EV_Music  Рік тому +1

      You need a DAW (Digital audio workstation, in the video I use Reaper). Reaper is basicly Free. It has trial version that works forever, after 30 days you only get a 5 second. But a license is just 60 USD and support a great product.
      Then you would need something like this software wich is free to actually produce sound: ua-cam.com/video/EjFi4KURJLM/v-deo.html
      If you have any further question feel free to ask :)
      And if you do decide to get a MIDI keyboard, then don' hesitate to contact me if you have problems setting that or the software up.
      Peace!

    when i press insert visual instrument it only shows 3 options how do i fix that

    • @EV_Music
      @EV_Music  Рік тому

      That's because virtual instruments are plugins that you have to get separately. So you have to download or buy them, I made a video on free plugins that I like: ua-cam.com/video/cBQGpORkVeI/v-deo.html
      I highly recommend the Spitfire Audio LABS library it's crazy that they make that stuff for free.
      Now installing plugins might be slightly confusing if you haven't done it before, but there are probably tons of guides on how to do it here on youtube.
      Now this will save you some trouble down the road: I highly recommend that you create a plugin folder on an external drive, you can call it "Reaper Plugins". And in that folder I would create two folders called "64" and "32" and when installing plugins you put the 64-bit version into the 64 folder and 32-bit versions into the 32 folder. (The difference between 64-bit and 32-bit plugins you can google if you want to, I usually just use the 64-bit versions.)
      The "Reaper Plugins" folder then have the two folders inside it called "64" and "32". Now you have to add the "Reaper Plugins" folder-path into reaper.
      Go to "Preferences" and find "VST" almost at the bottom in the left panel. Then on the top right you will see "Edit path list" click that and "Add path" then locate the "Reaper Plugins" folder and add it.
      Now you just put the plugins you get into that folder and you can scan for them and find them in Reaper.
      Setting up something like the Spitfire Audio LABS plugin/sampler is a little trickier than some VSTs/Plugins though, It comes with a desktop app that lets you install instruments quite easily, but It will ask you where to install libraries. So I would make a folder on the same external drive as the "reaper plugins" folder and call it something like "Plugin libraries". And with plugins like Audio Spitfires LABS or anything that asks you to install libraries or sample libraries you would put them into that folder. The plugin itself will go into the plugin folder called "Reaper Plugins" and the libraries will go into the "Reaper Libraries" folder.
      The reasoning for putting it onto a external drive is so that when you have to format your computer or you get a new computer, you can just unplug the external drive and have all your plugins organized and safe. You won't have to deal with downloading them and finding them online to install them and set it up again. Just plug in the drive and add the folder-path. If you don't have a external drive I would set it up the same way just on a local drive, but getting an external drive could save you some time in the future.
      I hope this made sense 😅If not then don't hesitate to ask, I'll gladly try to clarify and help 👍

      @@pradipgetkar9742 Hey! The process should be the same as in this video. Just plug it in and you will most likely have to enable it in some way. You can search here on youtube for "How to enable midi keyboard in cubase" and theres probably a video on how to do it.
      And you need virtual instruments installed into cubase to get sounds and instruments. Try searching for "How to install virtual instruments in cubase" if you're unsure of how to do this.

      Are you using the same keyboard as me in the video? If not you might need to download drivers for your keyboard.
      If you're using the same keyboard as me it should be plug and play, so it might be your cable that doesn't work the way it should.
      And if you're trying to connect it to another DAW than reaper, then I would suggest that you download Reaper and see if you get it working there. Then you would know that there are some settings or something that you're doing wrong in the other DAW.
      Hope that helps.

    • @EV_Music
      @EV_Music  10 місяців тому

      In theory it should. I have seen people use USB converters to do so, not with this exact model though. But I have seen people do it with midi keyboards from the same brand. So this keyboard uses USB-B to A. So you would need a Female USB-A to USB-C so that you could connect it to your tablet. I don't have such a converter lying around though, so I can't test it for you.
