I'm often asked how to do a really great day look by ladies in their 50's, 60's and older. The main questions are usually how to make skin look even and fresh without emphasising lines and how to get eye definition without a harsh end result. Here I demonstrate techinques on 64 year old Yvonne to help achieve a modern, defined and natural look. So whether you are in this category or you'd like to help your mother (It is Mothers day in the UK next week!) or Grandmother do her make-up, hope you find it helpful X

I only feature products I like, or want to try. The products I use in these videos are either purchased by me or sent to me by make-up companies to use in my professional capacity as a make-up artist for fashion and celebrity photo shoots, red carpet etc. I am also sent products by many of the top magazines to judge for awards.

I don’t know how I’ve managed to miss this for 9 years. I’ve been looking for mature skin makeup done on someone without Botox, fillers, plastics etc. because I can’t afford those treatments, and every single tutorial for mature skin is on a woman that is very obviously botoxed, filled, and lifted and looks many years younger than me, and I’m younger than most of them. I almost started my own channel just for everyday folks because I’ve never had any cosmetic treatments. Thank you for this, it would be lovely to see an updated tutorial for 40+ women with no cosmetic treatments with drugstore/cheaper priced products. As much as I love Bobbi Brown, I can’t afford to keep it on hand all the time. Thanks again!
This is the first makeup tutorial I have ever seen that is for older women, not teen girls. It's great to watch and good to see people promoting beauty regardless of age. It's important with these tutorials, that we not only show these techniques, but to show that it is the same regardless of age. You don't have to be young, youthful, wrinkle-free - to enjoy makeup!
Beckieeee :D
BECKIE!!!!!
Me too!! ♥️♥️♥️
Your model is a timeless beauty.
I was thinking the same thing. Radiant
I am 60 this year and have not applied make up for years. I will try this myself thanks
So nice to see a mature model who really is mature, so often they are about 45! This is far more convincing for those of us over 50. Thanks a lot for the tips.
+Nanny Oggins Totally agree with you hear, most models are about 45 or even younger, like the adds for ageing skin, they use models in their 30s how unrealistic is that.
+Susan Ripley I know its nuts isnt it. I never buy those products as i have no confidence they would have any effect on me. For much of my life I have used a thin film of glycerine applied to wet skin, left to dry and then a few dabs of olive oil to dry areas. it has left my skin in pretty good nick.
+Nanny Oggins glycerine & olive oil, ill try anything. To wouldnt trust these products shown on 30 year olds, if they think that age you need it then I must be past it at 64 lol though I'm very privileged t
o look young for my age. Just wish I could find a cleanser that didn't sting my skin afterwards, any suggestions
The very fact that this video has over a million views SCREAMS that we ladies over sixty are beautiful! We need more videos for maturing "hippies!" Thank you!!!
I'm 21 and I'm already feeling the pressure to use anti ageing creams and whatnot and this made me feel so much better. This woman is so beautiful! ❤️
Shes beautiful with or without the makeup. I love seeing people age naturally without plastic surgery or fillers. Looks a thousand times better, looks human!
When she smiles her entire face lights up. She looks amazing.
My mom is 75. She lives with me. I can't wait to try this look with her.
YES when I have an interview or audition I still do my version using all the tips from Lisa my application technique is never quite as great as Lisa but I always feel good about myself . Thank you Lisa for all the inspiration.
You're gorgeous. I love "embrace the lines!" Very refreshing!
the key is:
moisturize skin
light foundation
neutral eyeshadow
natural eyebrows (don't do too much)
don't contouring
light blush
soft lipstick
thank you :)
Yes, less is more as you age
im 24 and i have no idea why i'm watching this, haha, other than that it's something you hardly ever see and was really fascinating! what a beautiful woman, and what a great make up look
You can still apply these techniques to your own face, even if you’re younger. I bet a subtle look like this one looks great on anyone.
That womans face has so much beauty and character!
An actual mature women without all the airbrushing and other editing. She's naturally beautiful, lines and all. I don't expect to look that fabulous, but I can try!
Wow, finally, a woman that actually does have mature skin. Very nice tutorial.
Is it just me or is this woman strikingly beautiful? It is amazing what this sweet color palette did to youthen and brighten her entire face. I wish I could have a makeover done-----I am 60 and can never seem to get it right.....beautiful
Not just you Valinda: she is stunning. The make up adds to her natural beauty. Definitely an inspiration to us 'seasoned' chicks :)
She IS really beautiful! From head to... upper torso, haha!
She IS striking - I thought the same thing.

I'm with you Valinda . . . I'm in my 60th year and never wore much makeup but now find if I don't I look washed out and frumpy. This tutorial is fabulous for a makeup newbie. I would love to have my makeup done by Lisa!
She is beautiful! And she is a pro in the makeup chair, she's definitely done this before, she must have been one glamorous woman!
What a stunning woman! Best tutorial for aging skin is ever watched.
I'd like to know how the model has the neck of a 40 year old
She must keep her weight slim, that helps a lot.
Wow this model is absolutely stunning! I can only hope I age as well as her. So gorgeous. I will be using these tips on my mom for my wedding in a few weeks, thank you!
She is one of the loveliest looking older women I've ever seen, with and without makeup. I bet she was an absolute knock out back in her younger days. Great job! :))
Her hair and eyes are so beautiful, and frankly Lisa works magic on anyone she gets her hands on. I love how sweet she is to this model, and how she doesn't try to overhaul and change and hide the woman's natural face- she just enhances and polishes her natural beauty which is very much still there.
she is beautiful ! I imagine her walking down the street and heads are turning x)
so classy and elegant ) whenevr I see a mature woman who enjoy being themselves and celebrating their ageless beauty, it's amazing )
most women doesnt realize it,and kept on focusing to looking young.... under my opinion, i think a happy woman who aged well and gracefully, is very lovely and attractive even on her 60s 70s 80s 90s :)
Lisa makes a celebrity out of any face she works with! And they're all naturally beautiful too :) never overdone, gracefully pretty
This lady in her prime must of been a natural beauty! Because as an elder lady she's gorgeous x
i feel like shes in her prime now haha!
She is stunning, her eyes are glowing, she must have been a beauty queen :)
she looks absolutly stunning,wow!
great video - I'm only 32 but it's refreshing to see older ladies having their make up done - so fed up of 20 something oerfects doing tutorials! :P
Agree with you. Some times i watch tutorial s from what u think are grow woman until they say i use this when i was in high school two years ago. Thats when i loose it lol..
I know its an old video, but this just melts my heart. She's just beautiful. Doing this for the older folk is so awesome, it's so important to give back and just to treat them now and again. Love this x
I love this tutorial, it's realistic! I recently saw one where the presenter, who was mature, a retired model, basically said no foundation, no eye shadow, no liner, no eyebrows, and keep your lips the same color as your gums - ummmm no way!!! I also agree - your model is absolutely beautiful, and she has perfect lips!! Thanks for sharing - I am looking for that eyebrow pen as we speak.
Mary G Sorry Mary G, but I think you are being nasty - everybody ages unless they die young, and some people wrinkle a lot more than others, if you can't look past that then I feel very sorry for you, after all "beauty is only skin deep"
That’s what I thought too, this lady has really beautiful lips..
Perfect lips makes the face look balanced
The model looks lovely! You showed honesty that we don't see too often...the use of a variety of makeup -not just one brand. Now if we could get a good line of makeup for skin over 60. Everything is made for the young. It gets tiring to constantly see wrinkle products on television and magazines that are advertised on young women. Makes no sense. There are beautiful older women who would be much better at demonstrating product results on actual wrinkles. But then, the manufacturers would actually have to prove what their ads all claim.
Lisa is so tactful. She chooses her words carefully, very professional!
The makeup Lisa did was absolutely brilliant. She easily looks 20 years younger and her whole face lights up when she smiles 😊 Stunning!
She's very fortunate that her neck is in such good shape
+Bruceann Yellowega I was thinking the same thing - her neck and shoulders look very good.
her neck and shoulders look amazing
Yes, my neck started ageing first, before my face. I think that weight fluctuations has contributed to that.
you can tell this elderly woman was a stunner in her earlier year, i mean she still is:)
I agree this woman is very striking. For some reason, the wrinkles on her face ADD to her beauty. I don't understand that. They're not character adding but pretty. Perhaps that's just me.....?
I like that term 'Signs of Wisdom' ! Oh I know it always looks so sad when women do that with make-up and clothes. Things of that sort. I love my white hair and laugh lines. I earned them.
Lydia Burns This is why I love Lisa Eldridge so much: She finds the beauty within and brings it onto the skin so naturally.
Lydia Burns Yes. I agree. She isn't a victim of her wrinkles. They are a part of her but she is comfortable in her skin so she glows.
I hope I age as beautifully as she did. She's absolutely stunning
She looks gorgeous!
I love how Lisa uses the bare minimum to just even out and add a few hints of color and shade. I'm getting a bit fed up with all the cakey mask builders on youtube. (to each their own) Lisa is a TRUE artist. Skin is beautiful. Just even it out, liven it up and let it show. This lady is the living example. Not a microgram too much on her. I don't think older people look 'worse' at all.
The only thing that makes people look bad is tons of product and clownface covering, especially with tons of shimmer and glimmery highlights and jetpaint strength lipsticks in bold colors. Not to mention extreme face lifts. Not too flattering. I personally have never seen a person with little to no make-up whom i found ugly or unattractive. Don't we all look at people and immediately find their most attractive features and focus on that, or am i the only one here? There is so much unneeded confidence struggle out there. That makes me sad. Mostly caused by people who always feel the only perfection out there is someone who knows how to skilfully HIDE! EVERYTHING!
Lisa, you are incredible.
she's so beautiful, especially when she smiles :) and the makeup looks so good. and those cheekbones tho ❤❤❤
What a beautiful woman. These are my ageing goals!
I am 70 but this gives me hope
She looks so young, fresh and natural, very healthy and lovely!
Yvonne is beautiful before the makeover and stunning after. Love her smile.
This is my all-time favorite Lisa Eldridge video and I keep coming back to it even though I'm not even in my mid-thirties yet! It's clear by the end of the video that Yvonne is a timeless beauty, but I think what I love more than even the fantastic tutorial itself is the glow on Yvonne's face at the end... not from the excellent makeup, but from the pure joy of remembering what it's like to be beautiful. There is so much hope in her smiling eyes, and happiness in the realization that her youth is not lost... just hidden until it can be brought to mind again. Love love love this look.
This lady is beautiful with or without makeup!
Yvonne looks like a magnificent Queen! She proves that natural beauty is ageless.
She's so gorgeous
This is beautiful makeup for anyone of any age, she looks so fresh and awake and Dewey by the end. I’ve watched this video so many times because it is so inspiring, I work on many mature clients and this is the type of makeup I always strive for, the kind that enhances and gives that fresh healthy look. More than any other makeup Artist your work inspires me the most Lisa! You’re just a makeup master!
The model has the most beautiful eyes!!
Oh, and your model, Yvonne, is a knockout.
I'm doing this make up on my grandma to her 50 years wedding anniversary. Thanks for this x
What a pleasure to see a genuinely mature model used in a tutorial - and what a beautiful lady. I also like the fact that Lisa has used mainly high street, affordable products rather than high end.
Your model is beautiful and her make-up is stunning. She doesn't look like the make up is wearing her. Gorgeous.
I will remember this "just embrace your lines!" spoken so wonderfully and perfectly from a beautiful lady!!!!!
This is my favorite look for mature ladies! All the other videos I have watched use mature models who have colored hair, so they can wear warmer colors. I have let my hair go grey, like your stunning model, and you use colors that take that into account. You even mention that the cool colors go well with her grey hair and that some other colors might look very orange with the grey hair. So I really appreciate that! I feel like this is a gorgeous look for "real" women and I can't wait to try on these colors. Thank you so much.
shuga mccain
This is the best make-up application I've EVER seen on a mature face! And what a great attitude she has! She's truly beautiful, inside and out...great job!
One of the best I've ever seen. She looks glow-y and fresh rather than intensely made-up. Thank you!
I'm chiming in with the other comments about "Yvonne." I wonder if she is a professional model. She is so relaxed in front of the camera. All together, a very helpful video for a woman like me who hasn't really kept up with makeup techniques since she was in her 40s, 20+ years ago.
Yvonne looks so confident and has such a radiant smile! You did a wonderful job, Lisa Eldridge, at emphasizing her natural beauty. :)
Lisa, you are just beautiful and I love your makeup tips! I always enjoy your videos xoxo Anne
Everything you do is pure magic, you and your approach towards makeup are part of the reason why I'm considering attending a makeup course, just to give a solid structure to my passion. I get the chance to apply makeup on other people a lot at work and I realize I enjoy it more and more every day. I don't see myself becoming a proper makeup artist but I just want to feel even more confident and you're the person I look up to. For the same reason I was considering a Mature makeup course but then I thought "I'm just going to watch Lisa's videos and I'll know everything that I need". You are my source of knowledge :)
there's something tender in this video, it's moving: loving it! Thanks !
She's so pretty, I want to look as good as she is when I get older. :)
This lady is so beautiful with and without make up.
Lisa Elridge is the best makeup artist on youtube. She is realistic and pragmatic about what looks good on certain skin tones and ages.
She's just gorgeous!
Your model is beautiful . . . I'm 59 years old and never wore much make up but finding now I look washed out if I don't. I love what you did here, she looks bright and energized ~ stunning!
I use foundation powder over the liquid mostly for SPF factor. Should I eliminate powder all together in my makeup?
Thanks so much for featuring make up tips for mature women.
WHAT?? 59¿ You look 40 I can't
Amazing! I love how transforming this was yet still simple and quick! 13 min for a full face? Thats awesome!
Absolutely stunning!! and I love the final words 'Embrace your lines' which is so refreshing to hear.
Truly, a beautiful woman...! She is lovely. And what a positive, refreshing outlook regarding the aging process... Thank you both for this video!. xoxo :)
This woman is TOO BEAUTIFUL! You can see in her face the young girl she was and the beautiful woman she still is (Sorry for the english i'm italian)
So as you mature go softer on the colors, keeping it natural looking. I love it !! Both make-up artist and model are beautiful.
I’ve watched this video several times over and I can’t believe how beautiful Yvonne is! You can tell that her beauty radiates from the inside out and she clearly embraces who she is with grace and true joy! I’ve watched so many ladies on you tube , but this lady is definitely the most lovely and natural beauties I’ve seen. Even the lines and wrinkles on her face suit her… just something radiant about her! We should look up to someone as humble and genuine as Yvonne, instead of worrying about every wrinkle and lines we have on our face. Clearly she’s one happy soul! Thank you Lisa for having her on your channel and inspiring us all♥️
she looked so pretty! :) im doing my grandmothers makeup for christmas and i am really nervous because i only do my own and all of my girlfriends and they obviously got the same kind of skin as me , but this helped alot! Thank you lisa!
she looks so powerful and amazing with and without make up!
Best aging makeup i have seen
It's such an elegant look! Even though it's eight years on, the basic ideas still hold true. It's so good have these wonderful tips!
The model has Garbo like features, very attractive and likely drop dead gorgeous in her youth. I love the methods the artist prescribes to - very natural strokes in highlighting and color control minimizing all while playing up on her natural features to do the rest. Lovely ! I've subscribed : )
When I turn 70 + I want to look as gorgeous as her
Your mum, is beautiful inside and out. positive attitude radiates from her. cheers to her! 😊
This is my favorite mature makeup tutorial. The finished look is fresh and natural with her features defined but not overly made up. Such a beautiful look!
Lisa, I've watched this video A few times, and today I wanted to watch it again just to learn some tips for more mature skin. I am currently working at the Chanel counter at a retail store, and a lot of our clients have that type of skin. I cannot say how much this video helped me! When she came to me to do her make up I remembered all of the tips that you've given in this video and apply them. and she absolutely loved it! She looked gorgeous! So, thank you south for teaching me today!
I wish Hollywood would take note of this. They won't allow lead actresses to show their real, aging faces. They undergo botox, facelifts, lip and cheek implants etc but always look waxy, frozen and unappealing to me. Men are suffering from a form of agalmatophilia when they fantasise over those weirdly deformed faces. Grow old gracefully, ladies, there is nothing wrong with an aging face ... real faces are wonderful. This lady looks lovely.
You did a lovely job. She's a beautiful lady. Her neck looks so youthful !!
I've been looking for this beautiful face for a while You made my day happy
It is true that you are older than me, but your face has a lot of warmth
It’s so good to get tips like these. I’ve been applying the same makeup as I did in my 20s. Now in my late 40s and it just doesn’t work to assume you still have the same face!
I’m so much more geared towards freshening up my looks rather than going for dramatic looks. Thank you, this is great.
I hope to age as beautifully as she has done she is so beautiful.
Her face just radiates vitality, grace and elegance. I can only hope to look as beautiful when I reach this age!
She's absolutely stunning both before and after. The make up enhanced her beauty perfectly, nothing was overdone.
This is a lot like the day time casual look I'm going for these days. I'm 61, have enjoyed every makeup look over the years, from punk to grunge to bourgie office job look, but now I'm happy to look fresh and healthy. Thanks SO much for the truly helpful tutorial. I've been loving and using makeup for over 40 years, but I'm always up for seeing new-to-me techniques, new products and better skincare routines.
I liked this before I even watched it. Then, I loved it! ;)Bravo for this video. Women of this age have the money to spend on beauty and fashion - I so wish companies would start using them in their marketing more often. Yvonne is beautiful and the makeup only enhances her natural beauty - perfect.
She's gorgeous.
Thank you for sharing such an inspiring tutorial! Deeply encouraged and inspired. Yes, Yvonne is radiant and head turning beautiful! Thank you for showing us how to work with beauty inside out to age with joy and confidence! I'm a Mom at 48 and heading towards 50 with new ideas!
Absolutely STUNNING! And it reminded me of how much I love Bobbi Brown's EXTRA Tinted Moisturizing Balm!
Woah! Gorgeous woman with a million dollar smile. Really got me looking forward to the future as opposed to being afraid of wrinkling.
she is so beautiful
and the best makeup is her smile :)
I love this video! You gave me a lot of great ideas about how I can do my mom's makeup. The look you did for Y'vonne was perfect and natural and beautiful.
This is beautiful! Embrace your lines! Yes! We earned them.
