    One of my favorite things about Lisa is that she is so kind. She appreciates every person's unique beauty. And she likes to interact with the models in her videos, they aren't just dummies to slap makeup on. Always a pleasure to watch!

    Dalia is GORGEOUS! She has better skin than women I know in their 20s & 30s. I just entered the age-30 range and as I myself grow up more I appreciate watching "mature" women apply makeup. I love watching my late-50s mother put on makeup on her face. You really see makeup at work whereas UA-camrs in their teens and twenties putting on makeup is like watching them put on a mask. Lisa thank you for this video and you had a great model today who kept her eyes ahead at the camera, smiled, acknowledged you and being just so darn beautiful!

    Do audio books pls. It would really help people suffering from insomnia and/or depression. It helps me quite a bit. Your voice is so soothing. Calms me down every time. You and Michelle Phan speaking in a video together would be the most calming/relaxing thing ever.

      Have you ever heard of or watched an asmr video on UA-cam - it sounds like they would help you sleep! Search for Maria's channel "gentlewhispering" or Emma's "whispersred"... Hope they help you like they did for me! :)

      +Karishma Singh A while ago, I had a lot of trouble sleeping. Life happens, things get bad, and sometimes just surviving is a daily accomplishment. I found loads of downloadable music on Amazon that is really quite cheap. I never spent more than $.99 on any selection, and most were over an hour long. Rain, thunder storms, running water, soft music, nature sounds, all different kinds of options. I downloaded hours of stuff, then tried different ones to see which helped most. You can listen to a short piece of the music you're considering before you purchase, then download it (do you have an MP3 player?) But also look here on UA-cam. There's tons of stuff downloaded on here you can listen to for free. For me, I found anything with birds chirping was absolutely a bad choice because I associate it with morning and time to get up, while something called "deep energy" and the like were the best. A bit of lavender essential oil on a rag near your face is always helpful as it is a calming scent. Also, see Lisa's facial massage video. Doing that right before bed will also relax and sooth you amazingly. Good luck.

      +Karishma Singh totally agree - I used to watch/listen Lisa' tutorials in my bed every evening :) Of course only those I had seen before so I was able not to pay attention to what Lisa was saying :) It helped me to chill and fall asleep quickly.

    I can not thank you enough for this. I have been asked to do not only a bridal makeup but also the makeup for her mother - she is in her 70s and rarely wears makeup as she is legally blind and unable to really see to apply it. I was looking online for a polished but natural look and this is PERFECT. Lisa, you are always my go to MUA. Thank you from Woodinville, WA, USA. XO

    Lisa, I have gleaned so much from you over the years and just adore your work. I was wondering if you could do flattering makeup on an overweight model. I know a lot of bigger gals like to contour their faces, or use all sorts of tricks to hide away the chub, but I'd love to see your more gentle, natural approach to such a face. Thanks so much. Lots of love!

    Absolutely stunning! And so easy to do. That shade of lipcolor is so gorgeous on her. I now wonder why other make-up artists advise mature women not to wear bright lipsticks, claiming that it's aging. This look contradicts what they say. I personally look dead in light and pale or natural colors.

    Great video and lovely model! I'm curious if you think "mature" women can get away with the bold black eyeliner at all. I'm over 40 and can't seem to use a graphic liner without it looking way too harsh. A flick and cat eye effect also seems hard to achieve without it looking severe. Would love to hear more of your ideas on this subject. Thanks, Lisa!

    • @LisaEldridge
      @LisaEldridge  9 років тому +59

      +Holly Erickson smudging and softening the liner with a brush a then a little powder shadow works wonders for taking the harshness away X

    • @vga1738
      @vga1738 9 років тому +6

      I don't know much on this subject, other than that black eyeliner (especially liquid) looks far too harsh on my complexion. Winged liner done softly with a black, grey or dark brown pencil works great instead, and Lisa did a video on this. Tightlining works amazingly well on all eye shapes and ages too I think.

    She's just gorgeous, before and after. I absolutely LOVE that you do tutorials on more mature women as well. I don't think anybody else on YT does it. Models are mostly about 20 years old with perfect skin and no hooded lids. Now I am around that age so for me it doesn't matter, but it helps my mum a lot. I follow a lot of makeup artist, but any time you have a video I make it a point to watch your videos. You technic of applying makeup has made improved my application of makeup. Your so informative and I love all the models you work with. You are truly a teacher and mentor that I will continue to watch as aspire to be, so thank you very much. With that said, this video was wonderful because my mother is constantly asking me about makeup tips for her and sometimes I'm not sure what to say nor did I even think that makeup could be used to give such a flawless look on mature skin, because it so different from younger skin. So I'm looking forward to sharing what I have learned with my mother! 💛

    What a nice subtle makeup. Nothing here screams heavy foundation or contouring or thick eye shadows. Just a hint, enough to enhance the beauty of Dalia. Well done Lisa!

    Brilliant. Impressive bone structure indeed. And such a wonderful sense of humor. And even more helpful was the fact that she has the same eyelids as mine. Thank you for sharing.

    she has beautiful eyes, could not stop looking at them and you made them appear even more beautiful! Also, Lisa I really love watching your hands using brushes. Your strokes are so delicate, yet there is a definite impact in the end! Youre my favorite!

    What a beautiful look on this gorgeous woman! I'm struggling with the idea that "less is more" as I get older. Thank you for showcasing us older gals once in a while!

    Thank you Lisa!! I cannot express how happy I was to see a new video from you. I have been watching your Lancôme tutorials while waiting for you to upload on your channel. I just cannot seem to find an other makeup tutorials that I can actually enjoy because of the pounds of makeup slathered all over the face in just about every "tutorial" on youtube. I would love to request a tutorial on Parisian look. Again thank you Lisa for the upload PLEASE do not stay away too long before your next video.

    I love that you broke down a lot of the "rules" other people have created for mature people, like no shimmer, no bright colors, no pinky blush, etc. :D She looks so fantastic! And it's always so adorable when you do makeup on someone who don't usually wear it.

    The sign of a true artist is knowing when to stop, which is beautifully exemplified in this makeup look, the tawny contouring especially. Dahlia is delightful and wise. No one did tell us about hooded eyes or greying brows, and it’s hardly addressed in YT beauty videos, so thanks for this.

    Lisa you have saved me through my teen years with your tutorials. I feel so lucky to have found your channel! I was wondering if you could possibly do an Eva Green tutorial? You look so much like her and she's one of my favorite actors and she always looks so elegant.

    Wow she looks beautiful, but still looks like herself. That's what I love about Lisa and her artistry. She never changes people's faces and just enhances their beauty. That's the makeup I strive for

    She might think it's just a compliment but the truth is she has beautiful skin. As soon as I saw her it was the first thing I thought. Then I saw those gorgeous cheekbones. And Lisa is an angel. She is so soft spoken, hands and to the touch. I don't know how to express the feeling of this beautiful video but I just love it!

    Beautiful! I like it that you dont stick to things like no shimmer or bright colors for for more mature ladies. Why should we skip all the funny things when we get older? Dahlia looks stunning with this bright lip!

    Great video. What a difference on the model's eyes after you applied the eyeliner first and then the powder. The model looks like she has thick eyelashes, but the outcome is still fresh and not overdone. I learned a few tricks after watching this video. Thanks, Lisa!

    Really fresh and beautiful makeup. If you have well defined eyes, long and thick eyelashes, everything is easier and you don't need too much makeup around your eyes.
