In Jay's book "No Angel" he admitted that outside of the murder of the women the crimes being committed by the Angels were mostly small time and petty. Frankly, the government wasted money on "Black Biscuit". The HA also dispute that Jay was made a full patch member informally. Sonny Barger angrily denied that claim by Dobbins in an interview. I believe only the chapter has to vote you in. It doesn't make sense for every Angel throughout the world to vote for a member since the vast majority would not know him like the local chapter.

This guy got so caught up in it that he actually wanted his patch. Just like Joe pistone - Donnie Brasco...wanted to be made. They literally forgot they were the good guys is how much they got caught up in their character's trying to bring the bad guys down. Unbelievable. So we almost had a FBI - made guy, and a ATF - Full patched biker.

Comes with a hell of a lot of risks and forfeitures, though. Most criminals don't end up w/ the lives of Michael and Larry Lawton, most spend their days in jail being served food that isn't up to the quality standards for police K-9s, and constantly watching their back. But for those that were able to crawl out of that and make a living informing others about the realities of that world/life (nobody with a brain trusts the media/government to tell the truth about any of that, anymore) ... good on them. They did well for themselves.
