- Bryce from Diamondback put together an amazing day for Seth and me in Washington. He let us ride the brand new Mission Pro and shuttled us around to some great trails and even a new trail that isn't quite open yet. This trip is gonna be fun!

I really like the way that one day I'm watching it from Seth's perspective, and then yours. Simple, yet effective concept.
Nice!
I have so much respect for people who know their limits and have no problem with taking a safer route or even just walking the bike around.
I love the fact that you are having a "mental battle" there - I'm the same, and it's great that you are not scared to admit it 👍👍👍😀😀😀
You can't pretend to be someone you aren't when you do 3 videos a week on UA-cam.
BKXC yeah and in my case I can't afford to hurt myself as a musician and music teacher...I need my limbs to work 😂😂
I was there first time today and i feel you man, those trails can be intimidating. Great video as always..!
Keepin' in real w the mental battles early on. I love the fact that you don't edit that stuff out. Great riding. Great vid. Thanks!!!
We all go through it, I'm not going to pretend I don't!
pretty cool to see you stay positive and have fun despite the mental battles! No doubt you will soon be sending it too!
Gonna try my best! I think this channel is all about the journey. If I ever become a great jumper or build a great business or just flame out people can always look back at the old videos and see how it all went down, day by day.
At around the 4 minute mark with those gap jumps you definitely had the speed. You should do a weekend of Seth teaching you jumps haha. Another awesome video mate.
Thanks Rik!
Rik Allen nah, need Phil teaching both of them. He is a DH racer after all.
True, i think Seth is very good at realistic sized jumps is all haha.
That trail they rode was Gravy Train, it's built to be an intro to gap jumps before you tackle some of the bigger stuff in the park. It's almost impossible to ride that trail and be going slow enough to case those jumps, it truly is just mental. I've seen BKXC roll through some rock gardens I'm scared of so I know he's got it in him!
PNW is the best mountain bike place I have ever ridden, I was there last year and totally forgot SoCal. Fresh dirt and the trees they are huge! It's like riding in the forest
Pretty damn amazing!!
Ryan Docena it is riding in the forest 🌳
I like how your videos are raw and uncut ish but comparing to seths I love these a little more because it's the ups and the downs in video making make it funny with the uncut unfiltered reactions to things
Thanks man! Definitely a different style and I'm glad you like it!
Love the humility and cautiousness, you need to live to record another day!
Haha, that's always the plan!
some of the crazy stuff i see you ride you could def do more of those jumps than you think!
Maybe!
Oh very true. Dude, you did Aliso & Wood Canyon trails. You go this!
I laughed so hard when he said " see how this red rocket rides ".
I have that mental battle all the time. Some days are better than others.
Always for me!
HAHAHAHAHA "nope" at 4:05. Lol sick video though as always Brian
Thanks dude
Awesome, some really great trails. That girl can sure ride, too cool.
She was a beast!
America is so beautiful 😃👍
It is! Where are you from man?
Those trails look amazing
Oh...
breathless.
Man epic.
That dog was so amazing !
Hahah yep, the ultimate trail hound!
it was great running into you in whistler lift chair. thanks for the sticker!
That was super cool, Martin!
Wow, those were some sweet bikes & trails.
Big time!
Man! thanks for showing such an amazing location!
My pleasure dude!
7:43 that dog got the same boost on four as we do on the bike!
Haha yep!
at 4:04, thats usually me... saying "NOPE, not today" ahahahah
Hahahaha
Once again you know your limits, mental one this time, respect! 👍
LOVE THIS TRAILS!!!!
😁👍
There's no doubt 1000's of mtb riders out there , pros ,downhill etc etc bla blah blah but , they don't have the ability to make us watch their videos , so keep it going Bri awesome man 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🌲
Thanks Paul, that actually means a lot to me!
BKXC right on brother👍🏽🌲 , We also have gas stations here in the UK that have no self service like you guys in Oregon 😂😂😂 dumbass rules man haha!!
BKXC you had those doubles, you just got to be more confident in your riding bro. You're an excellent rider
Thanks Luke, it'll come!
I'm kind of new for the sport but I can say you are changing your riding style, I don't think there is nothing to do with mental toughness, it's just a complete different style of riding. I've seen your climbs and you are smooth, you just don't like to freaking fly through the air.. same here. I might be wrong great video
Haha thanks man
Going to duthie Hill this summer ! So excited!
Sweet!
Sick trail man!...Great job B!
Thanks bud!!
When its 36° and raining, it's nice not having to get out the car to pump gas.
Sweet trails man! Love it...
Thanks Will!
ive never heard seth swear uncensored and that filled a hole in my life i didnt know i had
Dude you hucked some of those jumps!!!
I hit one or two!
I lived in Portland for 8 years and when I go back to visit I still forget to let the gas pumper do my job... haha every time.
Hahaha, so funny
so cool u finally came to duthie hill :)
It was cool!!
Super Rad!! So how did the DB compare to the SC? That was some rad looking stuff at Duthie and riding that new trail had to be super fun, Congrats on a sure to be great road trip!! Live-Life-Loud my friend!!!
Diamondback is heavier but still felt pretty good!
solid video! I wish we had that dirt here in Utah!
It's a special kind of dirt!
I really cannot stand gap jumps, but once you do one it's a good feeling after you clear it
No doubt!
Hi, guys!
Yours Redemption 17 are awesome! And you both are awesome too! I’m riding with
my dad too - ua-cam.com/video/ZH71Ny5-VK8/v-deo.html
. Not so hard and fast as you of course, but I’m only 11 and I’m a girl. We’re
riding in forest near our house, in Moscow, Russia. There is no such good
trail, hills and mountains. And my bike has only 50mm travel. But in the
future, when i become an adult, I’ll come to US, and we’ll ride
together. I hope so! See you on the trail! Live free. Ride hard. Get stoked.
Very cool!! It's good to have a goal to work towards.
Trails looked awesome I'm also curious how you liked the mission pro compared to your Bronson. I have the raleigh kodiak 2 and love it for now as an entry level full suspension
Diamondback was heavy but still plenty of fun!
Hey Brian, have you considered coming back out to our neck of the woods? I'd love to see how you've progressed since your first attempts at Duthie.
congrats bro, I'm your 70k Subscriber i´ve been watching your videos for a while
Thanks for hopping on, Arnaldo!
I've done that same drive Sacramento to a little south of Seattle and it was a long drive and the Oregon gas laws confused the hell out of me 😂
Hahaha, the only reason I knew about those laws was my friend doing the drive years back and him having a story about the attendant saying "Now now now, you know you're not supposed to do that."
Wow.... very cool ride! I'm having to get out before 630am in SoCal so I don't catch on fire before the ride is over, and you looked like you needed a pullover!
Beat the heat!!
its always in my head too with these jumps and gaps... i simply have to commit to the jumps but man im just too scared... there are so many people who are worse riders than me but they just have to balls to commit xD
I live right next to duthie ride there every day
Awesome!
BKXC you think your ever coming back it would be awesome to meet and ride with u maybe
Do you have to worry about riding alone while you're there? Like bears or cougars.
\\windchime // in montane?
I also do but prefer driving to tokul or 27. Duthie just gets boring and is to crowded.
so to cool to see a newly made track. Can also see the endless man hours it takes. great work!!!!
Serious man hours!!
I want to see you hit some doubles next time man!
Some day
I'm sensing some hostility towards gas stations
Hahaha, gotta have a BK supercut of me losing my mind at gas stations!
Great trails
Brian did you ever get to ride Galbraith Mountain in Bellingham and if so was there any video of it on either your page or Seth's?
following girls again, that's awesome!
😁👍
This’s amazing. U guys remind me my childhood in Africa.. I was the only person who has bicycle in the village and I ride everyday and of course I used to make money by renting for 5, 10, 20 minutes. I will defiantly buy mountain bike and ride in the mountains. What’s the good season to ride bike other than summer?
Wow, amazing. Any time it's not raining and the trails are not muddy is a good season to ride!
where should u get a good bike
Cillian Drinan Pinkbike
Great video! It's interesting to see your perspective compared to seths!
Glad you dug it Eli!
wow Brian you are definitely living the dream! I love watching your videos as I start my weekly grind. I hear so much good stuff about the Pacific Northwest dirt, I have to take a few days off one of these days and do a road trip up there.
DO IT! Lots of great stuff up here, we only scratched the surface
awesome trails.
kinda different built of Atlanta trails
Pretty dang cool stuff!
THIS IS WHAT I LOVE TO DO L.L.T.M.L 8-10-83
How do you go to Tokul and not ride Flowtron 3000?
How could you go to Washington and not do a Bigfoot sighting?? Ya had the camera and everything!!
They're stealthy!
Bummer I missed you guys...Small Fryes is 2 blocks from my house. Let me know next time your in the area and I'll get you all up into some back country trails. Have fun in Whistler.
Nice!
Is the dog tired after a long distance
Where was that section starting at 5:30 - was that Exit 27 raging river Seattle? Looks awesome!!
Anthony Hargreaves that looks like Tokul to me based on the building looking thing at the parking lot and the side been feature on the fire road
Ya that’s tokul. At 6:47 they get back on the fire road. Which is like a 20-30 mile long rail trail.
I wish you guys would have announced you were coming to the PNW. Would have loved to meet-up and rode with you.
nice trails! how did you like the diamond back?
Thanks! Diamondback was heavy but still plenty of fun!
BKXC it sounded like it too. Gut great riding and good crew, you guys have awesome fitness to back up again and again.
dude honest as soon as you you send ur first double you will be hyped for the rest
Some day!
sorry I don't beat people up about the bikes they ride..just my thought ..I'm not a big fan of DB bikes ..since u can but them at Dicks sporting ..Brian work on them gaps...would love a chance to ride with u 3 ...bkxc...set ..Alex ...come to Pittsburgh pa
I like that you can say the more complicated city name but can't say the trail name. A lot of people can't say the tribal city names if they aren't from this area. Respect! I need to drive north and hit these trails finally. I hear nothing but great hings! Come hit North Slope in Olympia, WA.
Gravy train is the perfect trail to learn how to jump because the jumps start out small and get bigger as you go down the trail. Its where i learned how to jump. If you are wanting to learn, gravy train is a relatively safe way to do it.
It really is an awesome progression!
Nice of Dimondback to let you try there best and latest. Your jump skills are improving as well. Man I want to go ride the Pacific Northwest so bad lol maybe one day soon. Lily the trail dog sure did keep up.
Definitely a cool place to ride!!
He Brian - Do you shoot in wide mode on the GoPro? Another great vid!
Great job! Thanks.
What kind of camera did you used?
And how are you mounting your camera?
I have a fose far 2015 rare and I can't find anything online about it anyone know how much it would sell for?
It's so comforting to know that even a BEAST on the bike like yourself is still battling with jumps. Makes us mere mortals feel a little better about our inefficiencies. Ride on!
I'm just another chucklefuck out there struggling!
At some point that happened to any of us or it will happen. The mental limits, if you have everything you need (the "tools" and the skills) you just have to believe that you can do it. Overcome the fear of failure. It is better to fail trying it than to leave without having tried it and then to think if you could or could not do it. Just try it while life gives you the opportunity because the next day you do not know if you will have that opportunity again. the life is today!
Definitely a great way to put it! I just don't want to break my collarbone!
I know how you feel about doubles bud! I've done way bigger tables but doubles are something else. great video man! What did the dimondback feel like compared to the Santa Cruz?
Thanks! Felt heavy, but not bad at all.
my dad once crashed on the trail at duthie with all the gaps
Glad you guys aren’t cussing as much in your current videos as you used to in your past videos...so unprofessional
I think these videos would be much better if there were more angles although it would take way more editing.
Which line at Duthie is the one after Gravy Train in this vid? The one where the red bike guy was coming in short?
It’s interesting to see Goose Chase at Tokul before it was logged. So beautiful.
YOU GOTTA CRAL BEFOR YOU WALK YOU GOTTA KNOW YOUR HORSE
You're channel is sick man. I'd love to come over to America one day and shred some of these trails!!
Where were you riding after Duthie?
Never mind, figured it out. Holy crap you’re a beast doing all 3 of these in a single day! Though you didn’t do the full climb up Raging River so that helps 👍
you know how to get rid of arm pump? And Jordan rides the smallest of bikes for how big he is
oh my fuck that looks so great
It's pretty dang good!
So I just wanted to thank you, dude. I had my first genuine trail experience today. Rode a rocky ass trail on a 1993 Diamondback Sorrento and shed blood within maybe 100 feet. Lol. Got my ass handed to me and went OTB in rather dramatic fashion, but learned that my helmet is reliable! It was so cool, though. I just found this trail about 30 minutes from my house using MTB project and found what I thought was the right place to park, but I was the only one there. As I was putting on my shoes, a guy drove up with a MTB in the back of his truck. I went over and asked him if I was in the right place and he confirmed that I was and invited me to tag along. He was totally patient and encouraging and after the ride we exchanged information and found out we live only a couple miles from each other. After explaining what newbie I was (which was already obvious from my "riding"), he led me back to his place and gave me an old full-suspension GT Marathon frame and some 29" wheels! It needs some work, to be sure, but I think a few hundred dollars may land me with a perfectly functional bike. So, I made my first MTB buddy AND got a free bike, more-or-less! Gnarly! And your channel is absolutely what got me into this whole thing, so thanks again! Ima' sling you some fiscal support eventually, as well.
Wow, that's such an awesome experience after a rough start!!
Brian..Dont feel bad about not gaping..I jump like a wet sack of potatoes and i would go around them too..lol..YOU have the skills 100% though..Just lacking the guts to try..:) you'll be casing soon..ha...have a great time dude!!!
Hahaha gotta get me a potato sack to practice!
I still haven’t found a push-it-up spot at Duthie. Congrats? I guess?
It is inspiring to hear when someone you admire has similar issues with certain types of riding. I, too, am not comfortable with jumps. I've only been XC MTBing for about a year, and haven't had an opportunity to practice jumps too much. Just something about the idea of not having any control in the air that I can't get over.
Thanks Brian, we've all got our weaknesses!
I dream of riding dirt and terrain like that!! Soooo jealous
Seriously amazing dirt!
Drive from southern Cali to Roseburg Oregon, Takes me about 13hours.. ahhh haha every one from Cali Hates to have their Gas Pumped for them! at times me too! some Guys are on it but most take there sweet ass Time!! lol
Haha
Hey Brian, another great video as always. Right around 2:10 you said something to the effect of "too early for me, gotta get my legs...." in the video and it brought up an interesting question - How do you warm up/prep before a ride? Do you stretch? I am finding myself to be taking a little while for the legs to loosen up and wondering if you do anything in particular to combat that exactly as I assume that's what you meant by your comment. Anyhow, cheers!
I don't warm up or stretch or do any of that, but this was 3 minutes into a ride on a bike I've never ridden. No way I'm doing some crazy skinnies in that situation!
What hub?
Gotta love the Pacific Northwest! I never got the opportunity to bike up there when I lived in Vancouver back in 2005, but I do miss all the scenery and the lifestyle it offers. Thanks for another amazing video Brian.
Glad you enjoy them David!
Seth should bunny hop off of the jump in order to make the gap or go faster
Okay, hopefully I am not the only weirdo thinking of.....Man can you describe the smells of some of these trails? I can only imagine how nice downed/cut trees smell compared to other trails you have ridden. I'm so used to the nothing smell of mostly dry desert here in So Cal.
I try my best to describe the smell when it really jumps out at me. Lots of fresh cut wood on that last one!
I've been dealing with mental battles for a while specially when you get hurt trying. It takes a while to reset and try jumps again. Nice video. Duthie Hill is super fun.
Definitely a battle!!
