I've heard this comment a couple times now so before the next person asks. The original lyrics go as such: "Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid" The parody lyrics, to fit the rhythm and the rhyme scheme, go as such: "And doncha know I'm still standing - got aggro on all of it I'm on top of my rotation , popping all my damage mit"
popping all my damage *mit* .. mit is a german word translated in english meaning "additional" or "with" nice song i sing it next time i hit the karaoke stage and YES i was tanking many years as Rogue MT in RIFT
To all you lovely people who are rewatching this parody, sharing this parody, or just now finding it, thank you for all your kindness and comments. Yall make me wanna dive back into parodies.
Ngl, I was massively into WoW parodies back in the old Vanilla days and this randomly popped up in my playlist the other week, I think because I looked up Cranius out of nostalgia lol. Always happy for it to keep coming back on though lol.
@@gairkarohncatarn4527 proudest moment of my resto shaman career was using my ankh to toss ONE LAST HEAL on our hunter who proceeded to single handedly finish the boss. I remember the decision I felt to consciously decide to ankh and let myself die even if it meant suicide in exchange for giving the hunter an extra five seconds to bring us home.
Firelands 10 hc as a dk tank, the big lava-rock boss. I just recognized there is no heal coming, so I popped all cds, I even ate the ghoul used everything, boss dies. I look around, everybody is dead. XD
To all you tanks, dps and healers... The trinity classes... Help!! I agro'd a bunch of mobs and elites!!! Good God! They are everywhere!!! -- Sincerely the Rogue... Who forgot to turn invisible!
I love tanking moments like this. Where everything has gone to crap, it looks like a wipe, but as a tank everything is firing, and you get that moment where you say. "You know what? NO. I'm NOT wiping this." And you end up either finally getting ground down after a long battle of attrition, forcing the boss to have to rage to finally kill you, or actually beating the thing to death through pure stubbornness. No matter how it plays out, you FEEL like a badass.
That's the best thing about being a tank... The sheer bloody stubbornness of going "I will NOT die here". Kinda like real life. Though my favorites were times when I was druid healing in a dungeon if the tank goes down and I say... "I got this" and start power shifting to heal and tank the rest of the fight.
It happened once for me when I was still a Tank Warrior in WOD. I was in a group to clear Throne of Thunder and in the 4th Boss Tortus everyone around me ended up dying, so to help them I let myself be killed twice, but in the 3rd time that it happened i said: "You know what? F**k it! I'm going to kill it myself." In the end the Boss has gone into rage but I killed it before it killed me. (and of course almost everyone left because they didn't want to wait to see me kill the boss) I'll forever remember this moment. The BEST moment that I had as a Tank. (the second best one was when I, as a tank, was above the top 10 dps in the raid and even was healing myself more than one of the healers. I had so much fun as a Tank before Legion and I don't know if I'll have it again in BfA.)
Happened in a 5 man back in WotLK. The entire party except me died, and I used my Paladin spells to act as my own healer. Could've avoided a wipe had I not wasted my Lay On Hands beforehand.
One of my favorite moments like this was in Karazhan. We were fighting Prince Malchezaar and our Warrior tank got DC'ed. He had enough agro built that he never lost control, even with him not there. We just kept healing and his toon kept tanking. He got back right before the boss died
I have a similar story, as a tank. We had run Kara multiple times and every damn thing had dropped for people except Prot Warrior stuff. I was able to tank most of it in my blue and purple pre-raid mix but Malchezaar was my wall. Finally after like 4 weeks of wiping on this, I had my rotation so tight and the phases so choreographed, that despite multiple near wipes it was whittled down to me, a Paladin healer and our top Rogue dps and I was yelling into vent "Not this time Mel, you ain't gettin me this time you SOB!!". even had a couple dead people in chat going "get him Turk!". We finally got him and it felt like a weight was off my shoulders. That was probably my 2nd finest hour in 14 years of doing this lol.
@@tomc5136 I know: Late to the party - still, want to contribute a story as well, also from Karazhan (TBC) - we were fighting Nightbane...everybody was dropping like flies, our final healer gave me (note: I played as a mage at that time) all his healing and I lifed long enough to remove the last 20K HP from him...damn that was tense, all cooldowns active and well, the healer and I were the last two standing!
You've got to be REALLY good at your job if you can keep doing even when you're not even there. I bet he was kicking himself for "not being there" when he was needed.
And you are appreciated for it. I usually play games solo so I create self sustaining characters, a Jack of all trades master of none. A dedicated tank, in my opinion is as important if not more so than a dedicated healer.
I sent this to my dad when I asked him if he's ever beat a raid boss at 1%. He told me about the time back in classic when he tanked ZG when it was a raid and there was three people left alive. He said AND I QUOTE. "I nearly jumped out of my chair". I'm now his dung healer. He has one pulling style and he taught me guardian druid. I love him sm Edit: I'm a raid healer now, CN heroic 8/10 with a 211 hpriest! Edit part 2: Rogue/Priest main Hpriest is 229, Outlaw rogue 235
its insane that your dad and me played vanilla... and there are kids like you today playing with your dad. Or people that were not even born during ZG era that play wow today
Pretty sure a lot of raiding tanks have 1% last man standing moments. This song reminds me of all my moments like that, but especially at our first Deathwing kill. When my offtank died and people started dropping, he called a wipe and I absolutely yelled "Not while I'm still standing!"
@@Ceece20 Mine was as a rogue on Blood Queen back during ICC. She enraged at 1% and I just so happened to have cloak of shadows active at the time so I lived through the enrage aoe with like 20 hp left xD. Popped evasion, dodged 3 hits and ended up killing her with one last envenom right as she stomped me through the floor. My cheeks were clenched tighter than the heart of a dying star during it, and those 3 hits I dodged felt like an eternity, but it was such a good feeling afterwards xD
Fuckin nice, as a Holy Priest me and the number 1 Tank had too many momemts like that, just me, my best buddy and a dead Raid party with the boss inches from death.
Yep. I've had a few that were like that. Usualy an AOE enrage mechanic set those off. Dont think I had any where I got the last blow with the whole raid dead (happens in 5mans all the time) but several times where it was just me and a rogue or iceblocking mage and they were able to blast off the last bit of HP before my mit CDs ran out. Also many many times where I was OT and the MT went squish and I held out doing my duty and holding the boss till the bitter end. Loved my feral druid back during BC. mechanics wouldn't let me MT a few bosses but my panic buttons bounced me up to something like 95% dodge and the physical damage reduction cap for 10s or so. Nothing better than blowing an AOE taunt smacking the boss and calling out "Burn hard, you got 10s" as a dozen adds and the boss fail to kill you in the last few percent.
There is nothing more satisfying for any tank mains than to stand your ground against a boss against all odds and prevail! To my fellow Prot Pally mains, as well as any badass tanks, I salute you!
I started tanking because my guilds main tank quit the game, I play Brewmaster and I like to play this song during our heroic progression runs on Raszageth. Makes me feel like an absolute chad when the 2nd Tank dies on the final phase and I have to solo mitigate thunderous blast, Thanks for making this song. Keeps me on the top of my game.
As a fellow brewmaster, welcome to the pure ecstasy that is saying "fuck this, I am the main character in this shit show, and this is my time to shine"
As a tank main for two expacs I finally got my own moment like this in NyaLotha vs Vexiona. Everyone was dead at she was at 1%. I popped everything my fortifying brew and killed her with dots as I kited her. My guild cheered me on and it was a great and beautiful moment for me.
1% boss with only that one tank left, my best memories as a tank. You feel like a hero in an epic odissey with all your guildmates counting on you while the absolute suspens on the vocal keeps you focused for you to display the full extent of your might.
I was in an Abberus PUG. We were on the Zaqali. The tank said "im gonna zerg it, guys" and refused to listen to reason, or split the groups. I was an ELEMENTAL SHAMAN. I popped my earth elemental and the healers pumped everything they had into it. I saved the pull. We actually killed him. It was insane. I felt so cool. The tank got mad :(
Glorious moments. Ulduar 25 man, XT hard mode. Going strong, group still mostly alive. Suddenly, a minor healing mistake - other tank goes down, I have to defend the raid on my own. I get one hit from the boss after another, healers having trouble healing against it, all my tanking CDs spent at some point and the boss got like 1-2%. I know with certainty that if I die now, the boss is gonna turn around immediately and demolish the rest of the raid. Just as XT powers up one of his big attacks (i can't, for the life of me, remember what it was, been too long), I decide "You know what, if I get hit by that it's over, here's the gamble", pop my engineering rocket boots and go sideways. The raid lead is already panicked because he thought I dropped, but the healers are on the top of their game, I lead XT around for a few precious moment, long enough to be topped up and survive another few hits, and then the "little" shit goes *down*. It felt glorious. EDIT: Prot Pala back in the day, btw :D
You've done it. It's not the hardest fight for tanks, but i think majority of pple who never tanked current top content will never grasp what king of feelng it is. Glancing blows hit you for like 60% of your HP easily. So when you get to that
Honestly, this is one of the best descriptions of tanking I've heard. It calls to mind the times that my raid group has had the off-tank or "not even an off-tank but someone who knows the fight and can fulfill the role for 30 seconds" step up and do what needs to be done to win. I love this.
As a protection paladin, I live for these moments. When the adds are freaking EVERYWHERE, killing all my mates, and I grab them all AND the enraged boss who is inches from death and I start popping CDs and stubbornly stand my ground.
As a Blood DK tank in BFA, I can tell you how op we are even 5 xpacks later. There is a boss in Eternal Palace that kicks our butts because it's just not meant for dk tanks. Both me and my off tank were blood DK and yeah it kinda killed us lol. We had to have a warrior come off off tank.
I know this is about MMO’s, but as a Dungeon Master I think this also applies to my parties tank xD and the “healer dies” applies to like every other fight lol
I used to be a druid tank for the first few sessions of a campaign I'm playing in. Everyone I told about it have the same 'what?!' reaction lol. Thankfully i don't have to tank anymore, we are lvl 6, monsters are getting scary now, 2 of our party members died/retired and were replaced by a Warforged barbarian & a half orc fighter. I can just summon animals and feel from a far, it's much safer.
Human fighter with a great sword 13 dex and 13 int is the best tank. Get your full plate on, get your combat expertise and never die again. Not to mention power attack, wep spec and cleave by level 3, great cleave AT level 4. Plus mobility, spring attack, sometimes combat reflexes (low dex makes it less useful) I've been the "last man standing" a few times, Making full round attacks at level 6 with Great cleave is outstanding, nothing can withstand you. 3.5 btw
You know, when tanking and all is going to shit, you make a kind of last stand and then you somehow pull through. Those pure moments time slows down and you focus and your soul is dedicated to not dying and protecting the team. Those moments we appear as giant calm shields, but as all good tanks know, we aren’t calm... We hit the oh shit button.
I tanked for 9 years as Drevan and Grokkus, Thanks to all the guildies who allowed our rendition of the song's events to take place. Special thanks for making the song. I havent smiled and reminisced so much in quite awhile, thank you.
This is officially my tanking song. Whenever I'm in a tough situation in a raid/dungeon, I actually start humming this and it's pulled me through some tough fights xD
On more than one occasion, even if in just dungeons, I've carried a boss fight when the other players had died -- on my prot paladin. You learn a lot from 15+ years of playing a protection paladin, their kit, rotations and the limits that can be pushed.
I wish i learned of this sooner. I would have listened to it on the days I was tanking. Reminds me of the time I was on my DK tank and had to duo heroic Guldan, when it was still new, with my druid tank buddy cause everyone else forgot to absorb souls. Slowest 4% of my life, but we got it and the best part was it was the first down of heroic Guldan my guild did. Would have played this in the background but instead we listened to the original uncut version of Goku charging up scream as we slowly took him down.
Never played WOW, but I did have a moment like this in Sea Of Thieves. Me and my crewmate were doing the second part in A Pirates Life Tall Tale, we have just found all the books on the second part and were going to face the boss till my friend had to do something. While when he got back I was waiting at the area where you face The Siren Queen and got the ok to continue, but we didn't realize the Siren Queen locks you inside the arena so it was just me against her. My friend got worried cause he knew I wasn't the best at combat so he suggested we start over and I replied with: "No way! I am not getting all those books again." So anyway, I started tanking and did it completely solo while my friend cheered me on. I even did it with just my Cutlass and took her head on and beat the level for my crew. I know this isn't World Of Warcraft related but I thought I'd share it -From fellow Tanker
Posted this onto my guild discord after our Avatar kill... a lot of us got fucked by tornadoes (it was heroic) and the last people standing were one pally who died a second later, our both of our tanks. Boss was like 2% when the pally died, so we were all flipping the fuck out and yelling at where the tornadoes were n everything. 1%. We're all panicking. We *REALLY* want to finally kill that fuck. 0.3... the bear wavers. Many of us are reaching for our bleach. 0.2. Both are still up. 0.1. We are all screaming internally. And... He dies. It was soooo close too... they got him on the last piece of platform, just as he was about to cast his platform breaker. The discord goes wild! It's chaos, we're all screaming and hopping around like mad children. In game, of course. We happily tea bag Avatars giant head together and /spit on the corpse after we've done. After a few swings at KJ, we finally end the raid on quite the good note.
Reminds me of the time when i still played Neverwinter and had one of the top ranking Guardian Figters (tank class). There was a new expansion out with a new dungeon and boss. After a couple of wipes, we got him down to around 10 % when my party got wiped by the bosses AOEs (we didnt know how to avoid them well yet). But i wasnt ready to give up just yet as it was already late and we didnt want to make another try. Now with my tanksetup my dps way abysally low. I somehow manged to switch my skills over to a more aggessive setting midfight, without getting eaten by the AOEs and over the next 15 or so minutes i took the bastard down to the sound of cheering guildies. One of my greatest gamer moments 🙂
This illustrates this kind of moment perfectly. And since people are sharing tank stories well. I was on Shekezeer when she was the current raid boss, My whole raid was dead and she was at 5%. I managed to down her with my pandaren Brewmaster. I also ranked 6 in overall DPS. Brewmasters were practically invincible back then.
I sent this to my guild leader, who is also the main tank...He was taking me through an LFR once to help me gear up, just last week, we where on Maiden in ToS and everyone died but him. He stood there, 1v1ing the LFR Maiden for over five minutes before the group got fed up and kicked him. xD
had the same thing where on my shaman healing myself, the paladin tank and 2 dps lived through the first set of orbs and the 4 of us did the rest of the fight while literally everyone else in the raid wouldn't stop bitching in chat to wipe it... (to many responses from the 4 of us along the lines of "why so you can all die again?")
Amy Fox, back in cata I soloed the last few hundred K hp on Lord Ryolith heroic 10 man, I almost started to bitching about that I do not getting any heal when I saw that everybody else was dead :D Blood DK FTW!!!!
I was JUST listening to the original while tanking in FFXIV and thinking how perfect it was. Then GF brought this up and I figured... of course. There could not NOT have been a parody like this. Thanks for this, it's great!
as a tank main, this feels amazing to hear. to remember all those times when the off tank messes up and you tank everything alone for the longest time. aaah good times of adrenaline! (Creds to healers for keeping us others alive ;) even though stacks rise higher by the minute~)
Call-out to our main tank, Farva, back in 2009 who managed to solo finish off Arthas for our first Lich King kill. I was the last healer left alive and in my dying second threw him one last Earth Shield. He was the last man standing and killed Arthas with only a few hundred health left on himself. Best moment.
My still standing moment was actually when I finally got geared enough to run heroic dungeons on my Vengeance Demon Hunter, and we ran Shrine of the Storm. It was against Lord Stormsong and aside from my holy pally boyfriend and our havoc demon hunter friend, we had two newbies who had never understood the mechanics. So after a couple bouts of mindcontrol/wipes, I explained that they needed to avoid the orbs. Still, I was left standing, facing Lord Stormsong down, kiting the dozen orbs chasing me, and just barely killed him before he could get one last void bolt on me. Needless to say, we did carry the newbies through the last boss as we kept getting separated by walls.
We should also remember that this song is awesome for a lot of games beyond WoW. I often think of this song whenever I play a tank role in the Pathfinder (D&D for those who don't play it) Truly a great song, thanks Letomi and thanks to all who take on the duties of tanking! :)
Reminds me of my tanking days in ESO had this complicated build where I was better against a boss with a lot of adds this was due to another of aoe lifestealing abilities.
This song makes me think of a time in molten core back in vanilla when i used to be a off tank warrior. I didn't raid that much but i knew my class inside out. We where on Ragnaros at about 20% and the main tank died so i had to tank him, the main tank (who is also the guild leader and raid leader) yelled for a whipe since most healers where dead as well. but i told him that i've got it and we we'll get the first kill of ragnaros in the guild that day. Most dps was also already dead so i think there was about 2 groups total alive and we killed him. I remember feeling my chest afterwards and i could feel my heart beat hard in my chest and the rest of the raid group was cheering and laughing. Best moment in raiding for me.
Every expansion I say to myself "you have to play something else so that the game is fun again" and then after a few weeks I don't like my choice anymore... Then I hear this song, think about the great time I had with my bear and bang... Druid tank again xD
I found this about 2 years ago and every time I come back and listen to this it give me chills. I can relate to this so well and it is just a good song over all! AMAZING JOB! I love it!
So just came back to tanking after a long hiatus. Brushing up on stuff before Dragonflight and this popped up on my recommended! Awesome job and absolutely love it!
I don't know You, but You've just made me cry. I'm moved. This song is so true! I haven't cried so honestly since I saw LoL Braum's parody song Stand Behind Me. Thank You! 🐻
I was expecting it to be parodied with the lyrics "I'm Still Tanking" but a good cover. I like it. Nice to see your still putting out cool parodies. I know you have transitioned into a lot of streaming recently.
I love tanking and games that make roles a legit part of it. Tanking is it's own artform, trying to focus on your rotation while your head is on a swivel seeing what stupid shit your DPS are up to, pulling groups they shouldn't, etc, and trying to pick up their extra crap while staying in range of your beloved healer!
Speaking as a Paladin in FFXIV: There are few things more epic feeling than dropping the boss after the healers and dps have died because, thanks to Clemency and Requiescat, _Paladin Does Not Die._
Just had a moment like this on Gunbreaker in Drowned City. Healer died on final boss, then the two DPS. Boss had 48% HP remaining. Through defensives, and the Brutal Shell proc in rotation, I whittled the boss down from 48% to nothing by myself. Dodging mechanics left and right, surviving at points by the skin of my teeth. My group were all FC mates, in voice with me, and all I kept hearing but couldn't even respond to since I was completely in the zone was "Holy crap he's actually going to do it." I felt like such an epic BA after that boss died. The three of them were screaming cheers at me.
@@x570Belmont First boss in Amaurot, the healer and summoner both got flattened by the first building collapse. It was me and the black mage. Entirely due to Clemency and defensive cooldowns, we brought the boss down from ~85% to 0 while the two who got splattered released and watched from outside the arena. Few things make you feel _that_ awesome in this game.
Ah...I remember moments like this..... Tanking as a blood DK in my old days. LK 25H [Raid] God dammit guys! We're gonna wipe this and call it a night...We're not going to... [Blood DK] YOU KNOW WHAT!? SCREW THAT! I'M GOING TO KEEP GOING! *Tanks the LK from 20%-10%* [Raid GRP] OH MY GOD!? GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! [Blood DK sweating with adrenaline] AHHHHHHHH! *Arthas uses Fury of Frostmourne* [Everyone] OH MY GOD-- *Blood DK uses Ice bound fortitude+Anti-Magic Shell, SURVIVING fury of frostmourne, arthas then continues to talk while the DK beats the shit out of him* [Everyone] WHHHAAAAATTTT! [Blood dk] I AM YOUR GOD!
I'm wondering why it took me nearly 4 years before i came across this song. Aswell as the "Hold Out For a Healer" by Kruithne. 2 Perfect songs for me, who has mained Tank since the early days.
This just feels badass. Even though I’m not a tank, my character on ascension is essentially this song. “Oh I’m outnumbered? Good, my aoe and retaliate can work properly”
Had a similar moment this week. DPS screwed up and tank lost aggro and the boss cleaved the entire raid. No. One. Died. Me and the other healers were playing out of our minds and saved the entire raid from dying. Raid chat: "Huh that was weird, no one died" Raid chat: "yeah, we should have wiped there". Raid chat: "odd we didn't die". Raid chat' "wtf how did no one die?" HEALER CHAT: "It's been an honor healing with you all".
Thank you. For reminding me why I am still on this Earth as a Prot. Warrior. People depend on me. If I "hurt" myself IRL, I will let them down. People that love and respect me. People that depend on me. I tank in my guild's dungeons. I can't afford to let them down! P.S. no, I'm not okay. But tyvm for asking!
@SilverLetomi - So good to see you still singing your songs and still jamming out. So awesome! I miss seeing them and now im streaming tons and hope all is well for you :)
I play ESO, not WoW - but as a tank, I can totally relate. Thanks for the song - I will remember the next time we do vAS HM and the boss is at 1% ..... :-)
My immortal Juggernaut on swtor had a 1% two weeks ago. So I was in a random group flashpoint, only we end fighting a boss with fire death zones. The two dps drop and the healer stood in fire for way too long. I’ll admit while aggro game isn’t the best, at least they can’t blame me for death by fire zone of death. Anyways I go full on aggressive and pop every buff and debuff I have. For 10 seconds the boss who is at 5% is equal to me, making the fight 50/50. Without hesitation I spam slam over and over until he drops. I win with only a quarter of my health left. In that moment while I Rez my fallen teammates, I couldn’t help but feel immortal.
i really love your voice, and love the parodys, iam main tank dk, and, i allways go alone bosses in the aearly expansion, just before the nerf of bosses and the dps go insane with gear
Inspiring! Reminds me of CoH Mothership Raid, when they laughed at my Brute, but she was the last one standing! I held out while everyone respawned. Best day evar!!
It was rather wonderful bumping into this, making me tear up a little out of sheer nostalgia from my tanking days when I still played seriously... Numerous occasions that I can recall where I as a prot Pally or blood DK just went for a full beast mode of focus and calls and pulled my raid through a challenging fight. Knowing I could face-tank the boss for several seconds when popping my rotation and CD's at just the right times, giving my healers some breathing room and getting some vital rezzes up with the Druids.
this, this was AHH-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i havent been played a true MMO in a long time but i know this struggle so well. well done on the song.
A buddy of mine was a WoW healer main for many years, and his greatest friends were all the top-tier tanks on his guild, lol. I imagine he would appreciate this song.
This is the kind of quality content UA-cam was created to host. As a tank main and a fan of a well-crafted tank class, I enjoyed this parody so much. Takes me back to my days as a SWTOR player. My favorite class to play tank with was Sith Juggernaut, nothing beats feeling like a god of war hacking and SMASHING your way through the battlefield. I swear I used my pimp-slap backhand attack more than my Force Push, so satisfying to hear bones crunch when you backhand your opponent across the face. XD Also the smashing, Smash was an awesome attack. You leaped straight up in the air and crashed down, creating a small earthquake and knocking everyone in 10 meters off balance, plus you looked like a total badass doing it. And that's just the offensive skills. Having trouble with the bosses burst damage? Pop "Invincible" and watch your health bar lose only 1 or 2% over 12 seconds where anyone else would lose 40% in that time. Pop a Blade Guard on top of that and your health bar won't budge. Healer getting assaulted by mobs? "Intervention" will take care of that, putting you right beside them with an awesome leap animation and dropping their threat to near zero. Literally at 1% health with the healer busy? No problem! Pop "Endure" and get an extra 20% health for 25 seconds, combine with "Invincible" and unless that boss has an instant-kill you're golden. Ahh the memories...Thank you for the nostalgia trip.
Thank you for the heart! A fellow player sent me the link and of course I saved it. Your voice is so beautiful. I will have to learn the words so I can sing this to my friend when she's still standing in the raid. I will probably be a ghostie cheering her on from the graveyard lol. Sorry Elton but this is the version that is stuck with me now. ;).
My favourite song is its original by Elton John, so when I saw there is a wow themed parody from it I couldnt believe it. Its amazing, as a main tank i so feel it. Great job :D
Way, WAAAY, back in the day, my guild's first take down of good ol' Ragnaros. Our tank was the last standing, Rag was less than 1% and we all thought it was a wipe, but two warlocks popped back up (self-soul stoned just before biting the dirt - I was one of them) and three shammies... and we got it. Burnt our instant casts (soulburn, frost shock, etc) but that win felt so damned good. Tank was happy when he got something good on the loot drop too (his dkp was in the dirt, but all the warriors there knew he earned it!)
I've heard this comment a couple times now so before the next person asks.
The original lyrics go as such:
"Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid"
The parody lyrics, to fit the rhythm and the rhyme scheme, go as such:
"And doncha know
I'm still standing - got aggro on all of it
I'm on top of my rotation
, popping all my damage mit"
Nah yours still better XD JK
I LOVE THIS SONG!! This so perfectly encapsulates what it feels like to play a Tank! :-D
Please make this buyable on amazon.com. Thank you.
popping all my damage *mit* .. mit is a german word translated in english meaning "additional" or "with" nice song i sing it next time i hit the karaoke stage and YES i was tanking many years as Rogue MT in RIFT
'Mit' is short for 'mitigation' and has nothing to do with any german words
To all you lovely people who are rewatching this parody, sharing this parody, or just now finding it, thank you for all your kindness and comments. Yall make me wanna dive back into parodies.
If you do we’d watch/listen to em.
Lol I have like 50 of your guy's parodies on a play list that runs on repeat while in gaming! I'm always listening!!!!
Oh yes, Please do!
Please!! I main a tank and I LOVE THIS! Solo'd the last boss in DOS M2 from like 50% to kill. This song was just going on and on in my head!

no healers left, 10% or so left, leader calls a wipe and you hear the quiet tank go "i got this". yes he did, yes he did
You aren't a true tank main until there's a wipe besides yourself and you finish the job.
Once saw a healer use his 8 seconds after death to finish a boss
Been there several times now - such a good feeling :-)

-- Sincerely the Rogue... Who forgot to turn invisible!
GRAKUSS LLane/ Arygos.
Healers... I Fkin' LOVE You!!!!
🏴💙🐧
I love tanking moments like this. Where everything has gone to crap, it looks like a wipe, but as a tank everything is firing, and you get that moment where you say. "You know what? NO. I'm NOT wiping this." And you end up either finally getting ground down after a long battle of attrition, forcing the boss to have to rage to finally kill you, or actually beating the thing to death through pure stubbornness.
No matter how it plays out, you FEEL like a badass.
Polenicus as a blood dk I know this all too well. Only 1 dps alive? Well that just means do-able. Just me? Well just sit there and twiddle thumbs.
Hell yea happens all the time with my DK lol. Everyone else wipes but I'm still standing, self-healing w/blood skills.
F**k it! I'm going to kill it myself."
In the end the Boss has gone into rage but I killed it before it killed me. (and of course almost everyone left because they didn't want to wait to see me kill the boss)
I'll forever remember this moment.
The roles reactions to a lost fight:
DD: *runs*
Heals: "I'm not dealing with this shit!"
Tank: "I DIDNT HEAR NO BELL!"
One of my favorite moments like this was in Karazhan. We were fighting Prince Malchezaar and our Warrior tank got DC'ed. He had enough agro built that he never lost control, even with him not there. We just kept healing and his toon kept tanking. He got back right before the boss died
That is FANTASTIC thank you for sharing!
Second finest? What was the finest then?
@@tomc5136 I know: Late to the party - still, want to contribute a story as well, also from Karazhan (TBC) - we were fighting Nightbane...everybody was dropping like flies, our final healer gave me (note: I played as a mage at that time) all his healing and I lifed long enough to remove the last 20K HP from him...damn that was tense, all cooldowns active and well, the healer and I were the last two standing!
You've got to be REALLY good at your job if you can keep doing even when you're not even there. I bet he was kicking himself for "not being there" when he was needed.
This entire song is the reason why I enjoy being a tank.
Same
And you are appreciated for it. I usually play games solo so I create self sustaining characters, a Jack of all trades master of none. A dedicated tank, in my opinion is as important if not more so than a dedicated healer.
As a healer I appreciate so much your job :)
As a healer. I am sooo sorry ^^"
I have it has hotkey when I go in raids just to use it when starts wiping. Just to give the last kick to keep fighting
Tanks: Please stand for our national anthem.
I love him sm
Edit: I'm a raid healer now, CN heroic 8/10 with a 211 hpriest!
Edit part 2: Rogue/Priest main Hpriest is 229, Outlaw rogue 235
that's wholesome i love it
its insane that your dad and me played vanilla... and there are kids like you today playing with your dad.
Crisalpha best moments of raiding are feeling like the Fight MVP 😊
I play a blood dk. My 1% moment came the day I got geared enough for the raid.
To my fellow Prot Pally mains, as well as any badass tanks, I salute you!
lol prot pally? ha i raise you my blood death knight
true that
/salute
Pulled off a 4% solo against Mythic Gul'dan as a Blood DK.
As a warrior I’ll raise a mug to my fellow warriors and all my tanking brothers and sisters of all classes.
Brewmaster 💪💪
Stopped playing retail in BfA but Brewmaster and Mistweaver were my main's speccs. Great times ❤
As a tank main for two expacs I finally got my own moment like this in NyaLotha vs Vexiona. Everyone was dead at she was at 1%. I popped everything my fortifying brew and killed her with dots as I kited her. My guild cheered me on and it was a great and beautiful moment for me.
Oh man, this is great. As a raid healer, I can't say how much I appreciate great tanks.
Feels nice to be appreciated ;)
Definitely
And as a tank, the feelings mutual for good healers.
always trust tmyour healer is gonna have your back, just make his work a bit more easy
Me and my tank homies are still listening to this in quarantine. GUARDIAN DRUID FOR LIFE
Guard druids for life. Bear is Beast.
My people
As a protection paladin, I live for these moments. When the adds are freaking EVERYWHERE, killing all my mates, and I grab them all AND the enraged boss who is inches from death and I start popping CDs and stubbornly stand my ground.
Raid Leader: We need some tanks, anyone know a tank or two?
Blood DK: Allow us to introduce ourselves
As a Blood DK tank in BFA, I can tell you how op we are even 5 xpacks later. There is a boss in Eternal Palace that kicks our butts because it's just not meant for dk tanks. Both me and my off tank were blood DK and yeah it kinda killed us lol. We had to have a warrior come off off tank.
I know this is about MMO’s, but as a Dungeon Master I think this also applies to my parties tank xD
and the “healer dies” applies to like every other fight lol
Plus mobility, spring attack, sometimes combat reflexes (low dex makes it less useful)
I've been the "last man standing" a few times, Making full round attacks at level 6 with Great cleave is outstanding, nothing can withstand you.
Everybody wiped out, but 1 guy still standing and fighting boss
Raid leader: Who is this guy?
Someone in party: Oj My God he is...
... *Blood DK*
I remmind the time in firelands when the tank ( dk blood ) kill a boss who gave a buff like 20 times, everybody wipes but the dk finnish the fight
I miss WOW...
unholy and went dps but still was a beast blood tank
Ah yes I main a blood dk in mythic raids and laugh at the thought of wiping at 1%
Oh my, you made my day, hahahahahhaha.
I once tanked chronomatic anomoly in the nighthold hc for the last 20% on my own:D As a blood dk ofc.
All Last Standing experiences are valid ❤️ Way to go!!
@@SilverLetomi Thanks
@@SilverLetomi And I just now remembered my Skyrim last stand which is a lot better and more awesome cause of how close it was
I just came across this. Well done and anyone who has done an MMORPG knows this feeling.
Flargy Flargle lol!!! Fuck those tornadoes.
As main tank, i love this song so much, reminds me of when my co-tank died on argus and tree died aswell and i had to stand 20stacks of the scythle.
I have never played WoW but due to a misspent youth and the Original and Advanced D&D ..... this is just too funny THUMBS UP .
He stood there, 1v1ing the LFR Maiden for over five minutes before the group got fed up and kicked him. xD
Amy Fox they kicked him for being better than them??? Rude but believable
right? how dare he know fight mechanics
had the same thing where on my shaman healing myself, the paladin tank and 2 dps lived through the first set of orbs and the 4 of us did the rest of the fight while literally everyone else in the raid wouldn't stop bitching in chat to wipe it... (to many responses from the 4 of us along the lines of "why so you can all die again?")
Thanks for the replies you guys, and wow Letomi noticed me! *fangirls* haha ^^
Amy Fox, back in cata I soloed the last few hundred K hp on Lord Ryolith heroic 10 man, I almost started to bitching about that I do not getting any heal when I saw that everybody else was dead :D
Blood DK FTW!!!!
OMG SilverLetomi that's great , hope your voice stays as good as now .
When you're a resto shaman, and popping the earth elemental saves your group from a wipe
Resto shaman was my very first character and YES ABSOLUTELY THE BEST FEELING IN GAME YOU CANNOT CHANGE MY MIND
Long lives the Rocky´s!
This is me playing a hexblade warlock college of swords multiclass.
Just taking hits self healing and standing our barb back up...
We should also remember that this song is awesome for a lot of games beyond WoW. I often think of this song whenever I play a tank role in the Pathfinder (D&D for those who don't play it) Truly a great song, thanks Letomi and thanks to all who take on the duties of tanking! :)
For Saberz and Clyde - my favorite tanks
if i didnt know any better, id say this song is about your heroic avatar kill
I mean, it's basically about most of our first kills XD
SilverLetomi keep up the great work!!! Sharing this cross the net!!
The original is one of my favorite songs of all time, for several personal reasons. This is a great parody, very well written.
Protection Paladin: i'll just bubble myself out .
Same. Same. That's what I do most of the time lmaooo
Every expansion I say to myself "you have to play something else so that the game is fun again" and then after a few weeks I don't like my choice anymore... Then I hear this song, think about the great time I had with my bear and bang... Druid tank again xD
Flawless parody this time @SilverLetomi :)
I found this about 2 years ago and every time I come back and listen to this it give me chills. I can relate to this so well and it is just a good song over all! AMAZING JOB! I love it!
This is always the best bit in tanking. When you're the only one still alive standing on the boss's corpse because you refused to wipe.
So just came back to tanking after a long hiatus. Brushing up on stuff before Dragonflight and this popped up on my recommended! Awesome job and absolutely love it!
Oh god, this song is gonna be stuck in my head when I raid now.
Wizzit1st I'm glad you like it! I'm really glad to be streaming honestly, it's helping me get back into music and get ideas. Its a great new cycle.
HAPPY 1 MILLION!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
love your voice, found this song a few days ago by accident. Keep up the great work!
My group were all FC mates, in voice with me, and all I kept hearing but couldn't even respond to since I was completely in the zone was "Holy crap he's actually going to do it."
I felt like such an epic BA after that boss died.
You have 10-15 songs that are just as good as this. So glad one hit a million views.
Ah...I remember moments like this..... Tanking as a blood DK in my old days.
LK 25H
[Raid] God dammit guys! We're gonna wipe this and call it a night...We're not going to...
[Blood DK] YOU KNOW WHAT!? SCREW THAT! I'M GOING TO KEEP GOING!
*Tanks the LK from 20%-10%*
[Raid GRP] OH MY GOD!? GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!
[Blood DK sweating with adrenaline] AHHHHHHHH!
*Arthas uses Fury of Frostmourne*
[Everyone] OH MY GOD--
*Blood DK uses Ice bound fortitude+Anti-Magic Shell, SURVIVING fury of frostmourne, arthas then continues to talk while the DK beats the shit out of him*
[Everyone] WHHHAAAAATTTT!
[Blood dk] I AM YOUR GOD!
LITERALLY XD
DK FTW
Blood DKs rock.
XDDD I really want to be part of such a good fight. these moments are unpayable.

WE WON THIS ONE!
This song is great! Your voice is amazing! Mom got me playing with her lately for mother daughter dates and I found your songs. We love them!
Good, my aoe and retaliate can work properly”
this would be awesome if had some ingame clips of a raid near wiped with tank still standing
Boy, i remember the good old days when i tanked 50 lvl cata raids on ret, because only the i could divine storm more than the idiots pulled
And then the Rogue post his dps in chat, and everyone will say that he is a god ignoring the 100k dmg absorbed by the tank and healed by the priest.
Had a similar moment this week.
DPS screwed up and tank lost aggro and the boss cleaved the entire raid.
No. One. Died.
Me and the other healers were playing out of our minds and saved the entire raid from dying.
Raid chat: "Huh that was weird, no one died"
Raid chat: "yeah, we should have wiped there".
Raid chat: "odd we didn't die".
Raid chat' "wtf how did no one die?"
HEALER CHAT: "It's been an honor healing with you all".
Awesome work Letomi! One of your best so far! :D
Dear god I can't get enough of these parodies. You guys are making me want to reactivate my account after 10 years.
Ahhh... The...the nostalgia. The energy. The beat. I love it.
@SilverLetomi - So good to see you still singing your songs and still jamming out. So awesome! I miss seeing them and now im streaming tons and hope all is well for you :)
This was great now you have to do one from healer perspective "you're still standin"
This is how it feels to be a Veng Dh. Always last standing
I relate to this at spiritual level with my Dh on mythic plus and the 8.3 raid
It was rather wonderful bumping into this, making me tear up a little out of sheer nostalgia from my tanking days when I still played seriously... Numerous occasions that I can recall where I as a prot Pally or blood DK just went for a full beast mode of focus and calls and pulled my raid through a challenging fight. Knowing I could face-tank the boss for several seconds when popping my rotation and CD's at just the right times, giving my healers some breathing room and getting some vital rezzes up with the Druids.
Extremely great cover of an already great song. *thumbs up*
this, this was AHH-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i havent been played a true MMO in a long time but i know this struggle so well. well done on the song.
Holy crap a song about how beast I am as a tank.
Same feeling bro
A buddy of mine was a WoW healer main for many years, and his greatest friends were all the top-tier tanks on his guild, lol.
I imagine he would appreciate this song.
the audio quality is really good
One of my all time FAVORITE moments as a tank (Paladin) Was when I soloed the last 10% Of Argus the unmaker on heroic.
Tanks of all games unite in saying we aren't lost when i'm still standing
So true - no matter what game: tanks will be tanks!
Everyone falling, droping about to fail the mission
Tank: *Flexes with pecks and troll grin*
Me: yeah you got it guys "fighting off screen"
Ahh the memories...Thank you for the nostalgia trip.
love this one Silver!
Thank you for the heart! A fellow player sent me the link and of course I saved it. Your voice is so beautiful. I will have to learn the words so I can sing this to my friend when she's still standing in the raid. I will probably be a ghostie cheering her on from the graveyard lol. Sorry Elton but this is the version that is stuck with me now. ;).
this song is going to make me tank again
also can someone PLEASE send this to the streamer Kaif
My favourite song is its original by Elton John, so when I saw there is a wow themed parody from it I couldnt believe it. Its amazing, as a main tank i so feel it. Great job :D
I love the "sloppy as fuck" comment at the end xD

Way, WAAAY, back in the day, my guild's first take down of good ol' Ragnaros. Our tank was the last standing, Rag was less than 1% and we all thought it was a wipe, but two warlocks popped back up (self-soul stoned just before biting the dirt - I was one of them) and three shammies... and we got it. Burnt our instant casts (soulburn, frost shock, etc) but that win felt so damned good. Tank was happy when he got something good on the loot drop too (his dkp was in the dirt, but all the warriors there knew he earned it!)
Reminds me of Heroic Deadmine, I was a hunter and the healer died so my pet had to tank because I could heal it.
