I let a dps die cause he kept pulling, heals stopped healing at the same time......God he was passed.....lolz...
Yep, and you learn not to do it that way. Let the tank do their job. It's not worth dying.

I was tanking with a friend one time. Same result: Hunter kept pulling with his pet and me and the Healer finally agreed to just let him die a couple of times. Needless to say, he got the idea :D

I feel the same way about being a Healer ... some ppl just run off, and then blame me for not running after them, gets me so angry ...
Or when they run ahead before you even are off the loading screen and yelling at you because they died and you were not in the dungeon yet.

There needs to be a way to make every DPS player in WoW watch this video. (I play DPS myself; but the number of times I've seen someone get impatient and pull without the tank is astounding. It never ends well.)
This song may've been made with WoW in mind, but, there's times when this... (dps pulling extra mobs to the tank 'cause they "not pulling fast enough") ...can happen in FFXIV as well...
Which's why I'm not really a fan of tanking (and, if the Adventurer in Need with the Duty Finder's of any indication, it looks like I'm not alone in this). >.>
@@amegenshiken You're not. I don't play FFXIV but I get completely what you're saying. I have tried tanking but impatient d*cks make it just totally unpleasant. I play DPS and I let the tank pull at their own pace. No need to be a d*ck.

I say the same, and I have said it in dungeons too. And the DPS has died a few times because of it too ^_^ They usually understand, or leave the group because "Tank is retarted" :P

Friendly dps here, I'm actually thankful for all the tanks I've had up until now. I as a dps know my place after the tank. So little me dosen't have the energy to pull all those extra mobs. But if the tank pulls them I'll happily kill them. Don't know how many times I've been saved by tanks bcs other stupid deeps don't listen.

This song perfectly displays my feelings about tanking, if somone pulls extra mobs, no second chances, you tank it with no heals and no help. end of story
Wuldraider I've pulled extra mobs before by accident (usually getting too close to something I didn't know would pull when trying to move around), but I never pulled on purpose
I would rather tank for them, you can find new friends
so a few more mobs are enough to scare you? personally i see it as a challenge to try extra hard.

To answer your dumb, brainless question: the tank is the leader and if you feel impatient and want to go faster then that's your problem, so leave the dungeon if you don't like the tank's pace. You pull an extra mob, you're tanking it.

Its kinda funny for me as heals and my tank partner, because we would actually love it when the group pulled extra because they'd freak out about us being in danger, then me and my partner would actually take things seriously and win anyway even when the whole room got pulled. That was in earlier dungeons so I don't know if it'd be the same at the end game dungeons and such, but it was fun back then.

Oh GOD!!! This fits me perfectly! My main is a prot warrior, so I tank dungeons and raids. How I hate when the DPs pull before I'm ready, especially when they turn around and blame me if we wipe.

I love this song, that's just my policy. I'll forgive them if it's an accident, but if they're intentionally pulling, I let them tank them. Because clearly they think they're capable of it.
LOL as a player who mains with a Blood DK (and has 3 tanks total), this song totally sings to me. Kills me how many dps players just have NO respect for tanks anymore, especially top level content like the current MoP heroics. I've had to make macros to spam into dungeon groups on load in to let em know, i will pull big and fast whenever possible, no need to run ahead!

Love IT. I have to admit as a Mage I have tanked some when the mobs slip away from the tank after heals. I fashion myself a rear guard and Heal's guard. I rather die than let the healer go down.

I leveled with my brother who tanked while I healed (even into dungeons and raids). This brings back so many memories of people just charging ahead without me or him ready. In some cases In most cases I wish he wasn't as nice as he is and just let them die...

Eh, I've threatened that from time to time, but my reflex when it actually happens is to roll my eyes and hit taunt. I just don't have it in me to let people go splat.
Thats specially true now with some new WOW Mythic + Affixes (necrotic specially), I need my cooldowns and sometimes I just need 3 seconds to wait for a patrol to move away and some people think they should just decide to pull.
To be fair I still miss the old The Burning Crusade carefull tanking (with markings and crowd control).

My main is a hunter and I had barrage for like 5 min-switched to glaive toss once I saw what barrage does.....pulling adds when you're not the tank is a sure fire way to get booted from a raid

I mean, ppl are here saying they're quoting this song when they say this. But let me be clear: From late Vanilla to WOTLK this was pretty much what 75% of all veteran tanks said, and the really tired ones even full on practiced it. Everyone was just so fkn tired of all the fools ignoring the rules and getting the party wiped every 10-30min. "If you pull it you tank it!" was a running slogan for years before this song came around.
I remember good old BC days... I would tank adds on my shadow priest during heroics. Every tank would freak out, but I'd be like "I got this man!" I was so awesome back then.

love this song and its so true i was slowly learning to tank while leveling and those people with looms rushing to level would always keep pulling mobs because they wanted it faster so i just sat there and let them die after several warnings i already gave lol so funny to see the rage

***** When someone is new to tanking they're gonna pull slower than those who are accostumated to it. It may be considered a poor tanking job by many, but a new tank doesn't know how many mobs he can pull without dying, but as long as they can hold aggro properly, they're good. You, too, Clatterbot, has once upon a time pulled like this. I know I have, and now I'm quite good.
Nonetheless, I'm still guilty of, when playing DPS/healer, pulling before the tank does, because I get bored.
but its not the dps job to pull thats the point and its why they are called out regardless of if they are bored as long as everyone gets through w/o dying then the tank is doing his job correctly, ive seen groups wipe due to a dps pulling more than the tank can handle as hes not fully geared/still learning to play the game it doesnt make him bad
When MoP came out from level 80-84 pandaria gear was available for each class and you could make a toon that was insanely OP I ran a Hunter that way and in one dungeon me and a warrior took out the mobs before the tank and healer could get into the fight my hunter was at 83% crit of course you ran the dungeons with xp off for the blues you needed and only turned xp on for pvp so much fun for a short time.

I learned this lesson back in vanilla and happily taught it to others when I tanked. I wouldn't taunt anything some idiot decided to pull without me. Later on, when Neural Silencers became an option, I started using those. A hunter got mad he couldn't misdirect threat to me. I told him if he spanked it, he tanked it.
It's why I generally will not tank for anyone except myself and trusted friends/guildmates I know won't pull that crap.
Ah yes the role of God us tanks play. Piss us off, you get agro dumped on you every pull and die when everyone else is untouched and watching you get karma... And kissing the floor lol. Amazingly done

Jerry Peet yes, for some reason hunters are the most ignorant of all dps. They pull when your not rdy, the don't know how to turn off growl. They are the biggest shit talkers and a bunch of other stuff. So yes, hunters MUST be determined to be assholes.

I'm a Marks/BM hunter and I totally agree with this song. If my wolf chases and pulls I should have to take care of it. Normally I have to go to my bear or croc to tank it be its just responsible to take the stuff you bring onto the group. I know most DPS I'd like it's not my job but the Tank knows what it can handle and they pull that
No...the should know what they can handle and has some CCs assigned to make it easier on hard pulls.
