I also really love the iniBuild A310 in MSFS, it is my favourite airliner at the moment. Thank you Microsoft and iniBuild for this wonderful gift!
I absolutely love this aircraft !! As it’s a little older it hasn’t got the instant throttle response as newer aircraft which also makes it a bit more interesting and keeps you on your toes when flying manually during landing really love it . Thanks for the honest review . 👨✈️✈️💪💯
As usual, another one of your Precious videos !! Thank you !
Thx a lot for this one, man! Really a fantastic plane with a promising future in MSFS.
Christmas really did come early with this one !! Lovely present from ms and ini . Thanks !!!!! ✅✅✅✈️😍
Fantastic and forensic review. Im glad i watched this👍🏻 Great work
Thanks so much Emmanuel for your hard work in doing this, and all your other, really helpful videos. It's a privelege for us to sit alongside a 737 Captain with your breadth of experience and professional knowledge that we, otherwise, simply wouldn't have the opportunity to do so. Your review of the A310 was fair and I agree that, for a free, included aircraft, the level of detail is phenomenal. I believe previous A310 pilots would concur with your conclusion about the inaccuracy of the autopilot too! Thanks again!
Apparently the inaccuracy of the autopilot... is accurate to the real aircraft autopilot XD
@@qenyaithandrill7848 we're talking about a '70s aircraft, accuracy isn't really a word that those old aircrafts like 🤣🤣🤣 but tbh i love it
Thank you so much for your kind words Scott! My pleasure.
What exactly is the problem with this McAero? Late 20s by the way.
@McAero08 I believe your comment is the only stupid thing here.
My understanding after talking to my best friend's father that was an A310 pilot in the French Air Force (air transport wing) is that the A310 Autopilot vnav is notoriously unreliable to the point where they almost never used it because it would tend to overshoot or undershoot all the time and do other weird things this and the autopilot in general is somewhat basic by modern standards, an example of this is the aircraft MUST be fully set for landing BEFORE turning on final for non precision approaches or the the aircraft will not follow the vertical profile this is apparently a written procedure by Airbus for the 310.
Also the glitches on the navigation display are also apparently accurate to the real thing all in all they described this aircraft as being "quirky" perhaps another ex or current 310 pilot can confirm this.
Same story for the 737-300, 400 ,500 that underwent some partial fmc upgrades in the very early 2000s. The VNAV estimation is usually off and LVL CHG is the preferred descent mode. -v/s 1000fpm is also commonly used for shallow descent if the altitude difference is not more than 2000feet.
Awesome aircraft. Of course they still have to improve a couple things such as the sounds and the performance, but overall it's great, specially considering the price. Nice review, as allways
yeah this beast is alot of fun. flies like a champ.
Thanks for this awesome review and the rnav app i mentioned some videos ago, you're the best
Thanks Eduardo. I actually tried to record a separate RMAV APP tutorial for you on the same attempt where I recorded the GA one, but three out of three attempts the plane failed to follow what it should have done. Then I got a little fed up 😅😂
@@A330Driver what a shame, this aircraft isn't really accurate overall, and apparently this is close to the real one... How was that certificated? 🤣🤣
But i'm sure sometimes it's just a bug and ini will ( hopefully ) fix it for us, virtual aircrafts aren't "perfect" as the real ones
nice review, btw if u find your checklist bugged it's moslty comming from the fact that you have the keyboard up in the TO perf calculator; just press the red enter on the TO calculator to get rid of the popup keyboard and checklist should be working again
I will point out there is a wiper animation, it just requires a higher rate of rainfall than you had experienced. Great video - always love tuning in!
Thanks, I wasn't aware indeed! Do you know if that's a default sim effect or if that's custom made in the A310?
@@A330Driver I don't think it's a new default behavior - although I admit I have only flown the 737 and the A310 since the update. I haven't seen anything else on the forums so I am comfortable assuming it's custom for the 310.
For me it's a payware level aircraft. I don't know how realistic he is but I can do butter landing every time with this plane, the feeling is really good on final phase.
It absolutely is! Only that Microsoft paid for it, not us.
Thanks for the great video! About the slow APU start-up, I thought that I heard that you need to shed the galley power before starting the APU, as there is only so much power available aboard, even with the GPU connected, and at 20:18 you connected the galley power.
Mmmm, will have to try that out, as even though I haven't timed it, the APU 'seems' to be available reasonably quickly when started after landing (galley power still on). 👍
@@jumpjet777 In the original scenario that Emmanuel described, he's sitting on the ground with only the GPU connected. After landing, you (hopefully still) have both engines running and are producing more power than the GPU, so the APU should start right up. As I said, this was something I thought I heard. I'll have to have a play with this later when I get home.
Interesting line of thought. It would seem unlikely to me that the 310 would not do that automatically, just like it would sound unlikely that the available power can actually influence the length of the startup, but then again... There are many things sounding unlikely on many aircraft.
In terms of failures there is a programm called randfailures fs and indibuilds said that the aircraft is at the same level of the xp11 version so the consequences should work.
During the walkaround, I noticed the text for the static ports appears to have a misspelling. It says "Do not plug or defrom holes". I suspect it's supposed to be "deform" rather than "defrom". I'll submit a bug this week (just heading back to work tomorrow from holiday break).
The level of details on this aircraft are outstanding. I've been loving flying it.
Good spot, be sure to post it in the inibuilds support as well!
I am havin a really great time with this plane on xbox rn. Runs smooth and finally getting a study lvl airplane on console is a great feat for flight simming.
On side note I have a general question for Anti-Ice. If the ECAM Memo "TAT in Icing range" pops up, does that mean I have to turn on the engine anti-ice and wing anti-ice? Because visually from outside there was no anti-ice and no big clouds as well. Thx for the help :)
From what I've learned from Emmanuel, engine anti ice on from 10' C TAT to -40' C SAT when flying through rain, clouds or fog. Wing ai only when ice accumulation becomes visible on the outside (wipers or that little pole sticking out in the middle o/t windscreen).
@@qatsi4897 Thx for the tip :)
The memo just tells you that the TAT is in the icing range, it does not say you have to use anti ice. Be sure to use the other criteria for anti ice as well when you see that memo.
I'm looking forward to flying this since I can't afford the PMDG 737's for MSFS right now, but I just find the FMC so confusing coming from Boeing ones. Are modern Airbus FMC's the same as this?
Modern Airbus FMCs are somewhat similar, they still follow similar logic. But at the same time more advanced in that they have a lot more features.
Until the fps issue is fixed I'm passing on it. I'd rather go fly the Fenix. Once it's fixed I'll be happy to fly it
hello Captain, thanks for another informative video, pls could you tell how i can get A310 manuals?
Hi, they're either hidden somewhere in your folder structure (don't recall where, sorry), or available on the inibuilds forums.
@@A330Driver - thanks captain, i have found the manuals - its inside the resource folder.
Thank you for a very nice review. One question though, when you use LVL change, will the plane still adhere to speed and altitude restrictions?
LVL CHG is like OPEN CL mode in newer Airbuses. It flies to the selected altitude at the MCU-selected speed. On the A310, if you push the SPD knob, you can select a PRE SET speed which the aircraft will switch to at the end of the LVL CHG climb/descent.
@@18vallancel Not too familiar with airbus, i only own the 736. I understand it flies to the selected altitude. But dif there are any restrictions,, like above or below altitudes will it adhere to those or blow straight through?
@@XCougar85X It will go straight through.
@@18vallancel Cheers
LVL CHG bypasses anything in the FMC, it simply uses the raw data coming to the AP. It'll pitch for speed, ignoring anything in the FMC.
Anyone got Simbrief working in the ACARS menu? After the update I still can't get it to import the flight plan?
Yes, it works fine here.
how do you walk around? drone cam??
Yep, drone cam.
is that a working weather radar ?
Yes. However, the weather data from MSFS is 2-dimensional, like a simple top-down view of the weather if you were to squash it onto a flat plane. That means that the tilt setting is completely useless. You will see thunderstorms straight ahead even if you are thousands of feet above with +5 degrees of tilt. That's why other devs have skipped the WX radar because its output is very unrealistic.
No. It is a 2D overlay, more like a rain "radar" from the app store on your phone than what exists in a real aircraft.
can you say it is a study level aircraft?
I don't like the term "study level", but it is very much that, what others say a study level plane would be.
Is there a way to remove the pilots from the VC? They block my view and look terrible
Love this aircraft but the fps is unplayable at the moment.
Did you try the beta update? It had vastly improved fps on my system.
@@A330Driver Interesting.. I'll check it out. Thanks! :)
Go home, autopilot. You’re drunk 😂
Not FSX lol...
Too bad the MSFS flight model is so terrible.
