Congratulations to Jeff. Man, I hated you, in the beginning, being an Earnhardt fan but you earned my respect with your talent, smarts, and professionalism. I will always believe you took a championship from my beloved and late driver but you won fair and square. NASCAR is better for you being a part of the sport. Thanks for all of your contributions and hours of entertainment.

That was beautiful. I was born in 1982 near Darlington Speedway and raised near Charlotte Speedway. I still remember, growing-up in the 90's, how Jeff was an outsider as the Californian good-looking kid who dared to compete with the Carolina legends who made the sport. It took a long time, but he earned respect. He earned it, not just because of the wins but because of the way he treated the sport with such pride and awe. He basically became an adopted Carolinian, and that is high praise.

Hard to believe this year we’re entering the fourth season since Jeff retired. I’ve been a life long fan of Jeff’s and it started in the 90s when I was a little kid and would watch the races with my father and I began picking Jeff to win because he was always winning and as a kid that’s what you do, you pick the driver who’s always in first and for me that was Jeff. From then on he’s been my all time favorite driver.
I miss the hell out of him and wish more than ever that he was still racing but he’s a father and that’s far more important. He probably could’ve kept going for several more years but to me it feels like he chose family and I could never fault him for that. I wish just once I could’ve seen him race in person. I went to my first NASCAR race in 2016 and unfortunately that was the first season we had without him after he retired.

Congratulations JEFF, you are the best. And thank you for all the fantastic memories. I was sad to see you retire, but happy to see you made it out alive and well. I spent many hours pacing the floor in the closing laps and talking to the tv like you could hear me. And it was all good. Again, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE FANTASTIC MEMORIES, and I still wear my favorite, Jeff Gordon hat.

I'm from Dublin IRELAND and I only started looking at NASCAR when Juan Pablo Montoya went there from F1 and I started to love it but about 2016 they stopped showing it on TV over here and I miss it I only get to see little bit's on UA-cam Day's later. Please bring it back to TV in IRELAND.

At the beginning of his career in NASCAR no one would have ever thought he would get the reception from the fans that he got toward the end of his career. I am glad he did because he seems to genuinely appreciate it.

What a career I'm so glad I chose him as my driver in 94 or 95ish when I was 2 or 3. Was fun to watch his whole career. Wish he would have got those 7 championships. He has 477 top 10 finishes which I think is 2nd only to the king himself Richard Petty. He has already been named the successor to Hendrick motorsports when Rick decides to step down so that really gives me something to look forward to in racing

Great speech. I never could claim to be a Jeff Gordon fan but I do have to say that he was truly a class act for the sport and I am glad to see the career that he had and still has in the sport.

Man! To think back, when we said "Who is this kid? He's too slick to be in NASCAR. Too clean cut to be in NASCAR." Then, "Who is this kid, he's running up there with Dale!?!?" Now, he has so many people's respect, and is truly, a Hall of Fame racer....

I actually grew up watching NASCAR when Jeff Gordon had the flames during 2006 or 2007. He did show plenty of competition for the fans and has achieved a lot in his racing career. That iconic 24 and his nice paint schemes show something special. He was the youngest driver to win a race in the 90s having to be the rainbow warrior back then. That clip that Jeff showed had me when he said he wanted to be up there with Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip. What a great success he has and hope even more greater things come in the future for him. #24EVER
