Chad and Jimmie are DAM lucky this genius left Jeff Gordon as they would have never run their string of championships if he stayed on the pit box of the 24

Chad was one of the rainbow warriors back in the day and Ray taught Chad everything he knew. That's why they were able to do as well as they did.

As a fan from Jersey who has experienced Wall Stadium this man is the best because for all the great things he accomplished in NASCAR in multiple ways he never forgot where he came from.

I have absolutely no doubt that if Ray Evernham and Jeff Gordon stayed together as long as Chad Knause and Jimmie Johnson that Jeff Gordon would be 2nd all time in wins and who knows how many more championships. Other than Petty and Inman the greatest driver crew chief combination in Nascar history.

I think about it daily. Ray wrote the book that Chad worked from, and Jeff will always be a 7 time champion to me. The pairing of Ray and Jeff will always go down as the greatest pairing of all time.

This man was the best. Ray and Jeff was hard to beat when Jeff didn't get spun out or hit the wall. Jeff was my driver. I was right there every Sunday and Saturday Night to watch the race this was back when racing was racing not like today when we have all the cars the same they all look the same they all fit the same bill. No off the show room floors no more when Ford made a 2 door out of a 4 door car you couldn't buy a 2 door Ford that was racing. That was the start of changing racing then they made the tracks all the same got out of the small tracks that was fun to race and to watch Bristol was one of those tracks now they have made it a flat track with 2 lines of cars going around the track can't bump and push anyone out of the way and you have no way to pass except in the pits and that's hard. So you stay out as long as you can but you can go down 2 laps going to the pits. So if you won at Bristol you did it the hard way. It took a lot to win to not wreak your car but even if you was all bent up you could still win the race there. You could have both front fenders off the car and still win. Not today. You cant. Any way if Ray and Jeff would of stayed together all these 23 years they could of had over 200 wins plus about 12 or more champion ships because they were so good together when they broke apart Jeff wasn't as good because he didn't have his buddy that knew what he wanted in the car. No body found that out about Jeff but Ray. I'm glad to see they have mended fences and still friends. I'm Glad Ray is happy but I know if Jeff would of picked Ray to stay his crew chief. Ray would of been their today and just maybe Jeff wouldn't have retired so soon too. We will never know but when you win 10 races in a year and not the champion ship something is wrong with this picture for sure. The rules on the points and the chase killed racing and nascar. Now they have no fans that is there like the old fans were . It no fun to watch the race and have a green white checkered flag at the end of every race no way to be racing for the win because you need at least 5 laps or even 10 to come up from say 12th place to win the race. Or have a yellow flag and end the race with slowly driving around till no laps are left. I've seen it where they had 25 laps to go and ran the cats around for 24 laps then went racing. That was so boring they ran out of gas some cars did that was up front they were down on the flat to get gas in the car. So with 1 lap to go the cars that could have won the race. Lost do to the yellow being so long for no reason at all. No we run these green white checked flags every race because it's so exciting to see who is going to wreak and come in last from 1st or 2 ND place cars are taken out. Real good racing nascar I'm glad u spend no money on you anymore you killed racing. With all your rules to be the same for each car so why even have the the big 3 in racing even why not just build all the cars the same to start with same paint even and put a number on them turn on the electic motors and the guide wires and run them around the track. Because that's what you have now. Chevy's don't look like a Chevy and Ford Toyota don't look like then either. It's not right you just as well get dumby drivers to drive in the races because. That's how the drivers are today. They can't get mad they can't hit nobody and can't bump nobody. Or push them out of the way. If they do you call them in fine them big bucks for what racing. Like fans want to see. I'm sad to see that you killed racing in 2002 and been killing it slowly ever since then. So now you can't even fill up the stand for the races you took seats out. To make it look like you have more fans at the races. You are treating you fans like dirt that we can't see what you are doing to racing. We are not stupid. I'm all for safety but you have taken it so far that you don't have racing. Yes the road race you had lots of tore up cars because drivers don't like road races the fans don't either. But now they do because they see the drivers wreaking that's what they go for is to see the wrecks but you took all that away. Even the bump and run is gone or getting close to the car not touch the car in front of you. I'm glad I had the years I had when racing was so much fun to watch the cars race. Now you have wuzzy drivers and wuzzy cars and that's for all your new wuzzy fans that won't be there for you 20 years from now if you last that long with your wuzzy rules of racing and with the wuzzy chase that you take wins and through them away in the last ten races or so so if a guy wins say 10 races he can't win the champion ship of the year that's wrong. And will always be wrong. You way now of scoring is so screwed up you miss our on a lot of fans coming to the races and watching on TV. Now you or networks has moved you off of natonal TV to a sports channel no one watched because they aren't going to pay 69.00 for 3 months to watch the races. So you lose more money and fans. So keep up your way of doing it like this and you will be clear off TV in a year or two. So then you can say how was that working for you. Not good. Now that you are off TV you have lot I bet 2 million fans since 2002 if not more. That's way your stands was full every week that is way you had to put more seat in every race track. Then in 2002 you changed it all the cars the rules the points and been going down every since. Now you are on a channel no one sees you no more. Way to go. Keep up the good work of running your selfs off TV all together. Then you can set and wonder why you went off and died with out fans you will die a slow painful death. If Dale Sr was here he'd tell you that this chase racing I'd nothing but a bunch of crap and the rule that go with it is crap too. But you have all wuzzy drivers and wuzzy cars. So go die your slow death. Because you lost all your loyal fans that you had back in the day. The 1950s till 2002 that's a lot of people nascar that was there every week. Now we stay home and don't even watch you on TV so you lose we win because it don't cost us a penny to stay home and not watch you on TV because I'm not paying for the channels that carry you now. So bye we won't worry about your death because you are already dead to us 2 million fans or more.
