Thanks Tim! I tied a few of these the other day and fished them yesterday. They couldn't resist it! Definitely will be a new go to during the season here in WNC
Hi Tim; Long time viewer and fan. That is a great pattern for caddis and simple to tie; I love the way the wings act as "pontoons" Would you tie these for most spent caddis ? What colors and sizes would you recommend for most other caddis during the course of the year?
Gee's I have to buy some more stuff, I think I got similar stuff for the wing. Some poly wing material I bought last month from Barry Beck. I am going to try that, I going fishing as soon as I do my Russian Language Lesson for the day.
As always, great tie with helpful tips. Is the Smoky-Winged Caddis also know as the American Grannom? I see this insect every year, mid to late April, hatching in large number on the Musky.
@@MrFunkyko those are some very good suggestions that I will definitely try. I also want to maybe make a foam one aswell because when I see bees land on water they don't sink right away.
@@JF-cl6cj good idea, I wonder if there’s a way to color the foam to make it striped? Marker probably won’t show up bright yellow on the black. Good luck with it though, tight lines!
bruh why tf would you go through all that trouble of tying off your own thread, creating so much unecessary bulk and so many unecessary turns of thread when you could just simply remove the dubbing from your thread lol

Excellent tutorial video. I will be adding this pattern to my collection. Thank you for the video.
This is the best tie yet and simple. Tied up a dozen last night. Thanks for sharing..
Can't wait to try it! Thank you TL!
A nice and straight-forward fly. Excellent presentation and always learn some good tips that I can use in my fly tying in general.
Very Nice 👍🏻 TIM ...... Your world mimics Our surroundings here in NW Michigan .......
Happy Spring 🌞 and Tightlines ⭐️🎣💫
Your casual dress pattern is great for the spinner imitation used as a dropper or swung
Oh I like this a lot!
If you like this pattern Tim you should definitely give mercers missing link a look if you haven't already!
Ooh that’ll work great by my house!!!

Can you show us how to Tie the Streaking Caddis? It's a popular pattern in Scandinavia.
Hi, looks good! Is that hook relatively long in the shank?
Hey Tim! Would you be able to tie a mosquito?

Hi George
This would make a killer spent BWO too...

Not the same as the grannom Joe. These are smaller like size 18 to 20. The grannom are a good bit larger and start to hatch a little later in April.
You should make a pattern for a bee or wasp. I have tried to make my own but I can't seem to figure it out.
What if you dubbed it like and ant and just alternated small dubbing noodles of black then yellow alternate body. Possibly a deer hair or Antron wing?

@@mikelombardo6786 very good idea, and then color it. Thanks mike!
Would Zlon work for the wing on these?
Yes, Zelon works very well.
@@tightlinevideo Thanks a bunch! Love your content.
Thanks for asking this, and for the reply... Looking forward to tying these but, EP fibres are hard to come-by here. I have Zelon on hand!
