Blades is a grinding game for PvP gamers. Most of us will just have a little time on there and move forward to the next game. I still play Blades, almost e one year. But not every day, or hardcore as many do.
Named my character for review stuff Thor-Axe as a one-off reference to the old Splinter Cell co-op theater bit on X-Play, and it just kinda stuck. That only makes sense for a male warrior-type character though, so I decided to start naming them "Norse mythological figure"-Axe.
Thank you for yor sacrifice. I remember crafting a fully upgraded set of silver armor and doing the abyss with that, since after repairs it was the only way to net gain gold. Utterly tedious...
It might've been depressing a few years ago. Need to just accept that anything Bethesda Game Studios has control over (Elder Scrolls & Fallout) died a long time ago and they've just been making its corpse dance ever since.
More like move back to Wasteland. Remember that Fallout 1 was originally supposed to be a sequel to Wasteland 1, but they didn't have the rights to the Wasteland IP at the time.
@@DWTerminator I know i know But W2 was kinda of a spiritual sucessor for fallout in the same way Fallout ended up being an spiritual sucessor to the original Wasteland Things like having the whole "perk system" kinda returning in a new fashion and how they designed their systems and mechanics on the basis of what fallout 2 did is a luxury for fallout fans Is like having atleast someone caring enough to give us a product that really deliver what we had long lost by Bethesda's incompetence
I hope Bethesda Game Studios will surprise us on their next entry of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. What I mean by this is: give us an interconnecting side quests for main storyline, have real character developments, an in-depth gameplay mechanics, add more weapons & customizations, an overhauled and expanded settlement system, a dynamic dialogue system, a better, more in-depth create your own character creation system beyond just "make face", "choose male or female pre-existing backstory playable character with no use in outside world" and "pick points on attributes" in the beginning of the game, and so, so much more than just pretty graphics, simplistic fps gameplay, forced storylines, and open-world map with nothing to do, but do boring radiant fetch quests over and over and over and over. I, we need them to go above and beyond the Call of Duty for their efforts to make a great, true Fallout and The Elder Scrolls game again instead of just giving us another mainstream mediocrity, mediocre pile of dog shit.
You have to remember that it has to run on the Switch in handheld mode, which is only a 720p screen resolution, and it's upscaled to 1080p when you dock it, so the texture files can't be as detailed as they would be if you were playing on a 4K screen. Most of us have phones with higher resolutions than the Switch is capable of. You would probably be better off playing the Android version using Bluestacks on a PC than the Switch version. A lot of people will be playing it on an unexpanded Switch, so the game can't take up space in the internal memory like a AAA title, which also limits the assets they can employ. It is boring after a while since there are only a few monster types and a small number of dungeons that are recycled over and over. Building your town up sounds nice until you realize the resource demands keep going up every time you improve something and eventually you will reach a point where doing quests doesn't bring in enough resources anymore and the urge to spend to keep progressing gets stronger and stronger. The early stages of the game are just a teaser to get you committed to the growth of your hero and your town before they hit you hard with the demand for money. It's basically a money trap.
Your point about "not as detailed as if you were playing at 4K" is fairly moot since my displays are 1080p anyway. My point is that the Switch is capable of much better visuals and far better performance than what we see in Blades, even including games like Skyrim. And "money trap" is really the best way to describe it. Blades is just awful.
I like the town restoration aspect. Wish it was more robust! Awful graphics? Why do these graphics not bother me at all. Kinda like them! I think this game is a skeleton of a “proof of concept”.
It's true, compared to the other games with the Elder Scrolls stamp, this is a pile of steamy stuff. But, why do I find myself sitting down to hate it and play for 5 mins but end up playing for an hour or two and not know where the time went? I don't like it, but I find myself coming back every couple of months for several hours. No idea why. But it happens. It's not a game you can sit and play all day, but for the odd 30 mins here and there, I guess it works for that.
Same here lol. I think (especially for me when this is the only access to anything elder scrolls I’ve ever had) it provides a bit of a window into the world that I hope to one day explore. Granted there isn’t much to the game itself but the graphics and presence of some actual storyline make it far superior to many mobile games.
@Datboi i feel like people expect it to be like skyrim, but in reality it’s far from it it’s not supposed to be a game where you get a ton of side quests to do and level up quickly and that’s why i hate when people complain about the wait times, they’re implemented so you can’t beat the game in 6 hours and never play it again
I know It is just my build is slow attack heavy weapon and im getting smack around by combo, maybe i should try like him stund with shield and do combo with one handed weapon
I'm surprised I could sit through this entire thing, but I did. I have to say this gave me an unintentional laugh once, but dear God, it seems this is basically on the level of Tiberium Twilight minus the always online DRM, but that's probably b/c it was made as a mobile game first.
I've played this game so i understand how you feel about it I only play it if I'm really bored but that rarely happens i find more enjoyment with the first 2 borderlands games.
Great video I've been thinking of playing but "it just works" and seems to still have bugs here and there either way going to try it today being an old Elder Scrolls fans don't know why I even waited this long, thank you! :)
Alright, can't wait for the Pathfinder: Kingmaker video. Hopefully that game turned out to be better than this (it's safe to assume that it was, I would imagine).
Combat's not really all that sound. It's playable, sure, but it's very inconsistent and clunky. As for the graphics, they took most of the graphics assets for this game from Skyrim, then reduced the texture resolution and poly counts by quite a bit.
Timers, a gameplay idea that really got downhill quickly. Makes sense in a realtime strategy game but outside that is both hideous and exploitative if paired with monetization. While i can skip the second case by not playing those games i fear for that "feature" getting insdie more and more other titles. For example in DA: Inquisition it just wastes the player's time, if i want to explore the "openworld" i do it when i want not because i need to wait for something to unlock, if i continue with the main quest i don't want to wait for a timer to unlock the next step, i've already completed doing missions or gathering resources so let's move on, right? "No, please wait few hours of RL". Not surprised seeing there are mods that remove that element on PC but with a server controlled game it's unlikely you can do that. In a way i started to respect more what they achieved with games on the PSP with mobile in mind: while splitting gameplay in short missions and various repetitive tasks resulted in being "dry" compared to games in other systems, it was made to respect the player playing on the move within a few minutes, choosing what to do and not instead of "engaging" him with tasks with little meaning. Sure, in various cases you had to repeat the same mission many times to collect stuff (ex. to create new gear in Monster Hunter) but it was still a better loop compared to boring you to pay to skip tasks with loot that isn't even interesting.
The long timers in a game like this are specifically designed to irritate the player into spending money to skip them. It's one of the more disgusting mobile game trends and we have to be very cautious not to let it infest PC/console games too. Handheld games before the rise of phone games really did respect the player's time quite a lot. If they didn't have short missions, they generally let you save anywhere you wanted and go right back to it later. PSP was particularly good at that, for sure.
"switch has much bigger storage than mobile devices" wait what?! Switch Lite have only 32gb of storage while the phones from the same price range have 256

Those 60 hours were spaced out over the better part of a year and mostly consisted of messing around with the game when I was waiting on things to finish rendering/uploading/etc. or playing it to keep myself occupied while I was taking a dump. As for fun? Not really.
@@DWTerminator I can definitely see that being the case but even I wouldn't waste my time to kill on that garbage. At least Skyrim has the open world and amazing score to make it halfway bearable
