Hi. So...I have MCTD w/APS. They don’t know which came first, but do know the APS is high platelets, not low. There is zero medical information about ‘treatments’ for my condition, and I had a major allergic reaction to hydroxychloroquine, because it’s sulfa based. Although classified as a type of Lupus, the treatment plan is different and well, should be in the same wheelhouse. Getting no advice from doctors, as this condition is deteriorating my body and muscles, I opted to take vitamin D, C, and Zinc daily. It’s helped me with the Covid thing, I’ve not had a cold or flu for the six years I’ve been taking the vitamin combination. I’ve obstained from getting the V. Because I have no idea how my body would reacted to it’s ingredients. I wish there was a treatment for me. The polymytosis causes me much pain. Vitamin D is not enough, sorry.
Or we untake the 'vacc's' over the last 40 yrs. You know, when liability was dropped for pharmaceutical companies. It corresponds exactly with a rise in autism, IBS, nervous issues... You want a control? Look at the Amish community, they aren't plagued by these things. They don't get vaccinated. And don't give me that 'Correlation is not causation' BS. That is a cowardly cop-out. Correlation tells us there is something going on...Science. Down with the Murderer ICU 'doctors' that let their coof patients die for money. Down with the Ignorant Empire.
we should do a study to check if vitamin D reduces cancer, in fact vitamin D is more present in the body in summer since the sun on the skin allows it to be synthesized. It is possible that the presence of a lot of vitamin D is a signal for the body that we are in summer, therefore that we are in abundance of fruits and vegetables, therefore of food, therefore that the body can afford to spend a little more energy for the immune system but also to fuel the DNA repair mechanisms that prevent cancer. That's why I think there's a chance that vitamin D lowers the rate of cancer.
After seeing my D and HDL are incredibly low and I still have a bit of psoriasis I'm going to take 20k IU and k2 with a omega 3 mega dose. 2000 IU in the test seems incredibly low. Taking 2k IU for some months now did eliminate a lot of my patches, though. I also lost 75 lbs, which I'm sure helped.
I took part in this study, later finding out I was in the group that had both Vitamin D and Omega-3 active. I was in my late 50's and early 60's during the study and in excellent health. I am still in excellent health at this time. I came across this video by accident and it's nice to see this analysis of the study.
@@SeriouslyWeirdDream I guessed that. I was born in 1969 with an IQ I can't mention without being 'shamed' by my normal 'peers'. I've been mocking people for over 50 years.🙄😏😁🤣
Are you serious did they expect people in their 50s and 60s to develop any autoimmune disease when 90% of cases happen between the age of 20 and 40 years old? I am also pretty sure the same results happen when following up on cancer rates. All this is saying is that vitamin D does straighten the immune system which in the first place proves that there are no autoimmune diseases but rather an immune system trying to fighr something it cant seem to overcome yet.
About two months ago I started to get a bunch of the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis and so I did a bunch of research and I was prompted to take 5000IUs of D3 and 2 Fish Oil pills and start a Ketogenic Diet. Within a week I was feeling much better and now weeks later I feel completely back to healthy
I suffered with pretty bad UC since 2007. Went on prednisone, Remicade, Humria... etc... for years, which only kind of controlled symptoms. I even took Vit D daily and my levels were on the lower end normal range. In 2019, my doc suggested we get my vit D levels up to upper normal range. So I started taking 20,000iu a day for a month, and shockingly, my UC went into remission.... completely. I was able to come off all other drugs for the UC. Now, in 2022, I'm still in remission, but I also need to continue taking 10,000iu a day. Any less and things start getting bad again. It's been a life-changer, and I'm so grateful for my doctor discovering this with me. Edit: March 2024 and still not had any hint of UC coming back. Still taking my 10,000iu a day. Again... I can't express how thankful I am every day I've not had to live with UC.
@@im_so_bored3896 Actually you shoudnt take more than 100'000 iu in a month, 10'000 daily is insane, and will most likely damage your kidneys overtime, which is worse than just having UC, you know, dialysis.
My period didn't stop for 2 months and my obgyn ran all these tests and couldn't tell what was wrong with me. But prescribed provera, which didn't stop the bleeding. I did a lot of research and I came across a sentence that mentioned low Vit D in women who had abnormal menstrual. So I took 10,000 ui/daily and in 4 days my period stopped!!
So glad you got help! I had insane bleeding and resultant anaemia for YEARS until menopause, with infertility and even job loss throughout...so now I'm post- menopausal and sadly childless...real life consequences of ignorance in the medical profession! 😭
I've got an autoimmune disease and a few years back I would suddenly pass out if I even slightly exerted myself physically. Found out I had severely low vitamin D levels, so low my liver had begun to become damaged. For those last few years I've been on vitamin D tablets and probiotics (kefir or any lactobacillus strains in pills). With my immune system I haven't been able to eat a lot of foods , even foods I used to be able to eat, I'd get chronically sick, chronic tonsilitis, I'd be fatigued and it was ruining my ability to do anything. After religious probiotics and vitamin D for about 3 years now I'm significantly better. I rarely get sick and if I do it's so minor it's not even worth taking time off work. I somehow haven't caught covid yet. I can eat things I never used to be able to without reactions, I'm not chronically fatigued, I haven't had a chronic bout of tonsilitis in those 3 years. My stomach lining and intestines were covered in ulcers which are now gone. I would say I'm close to being able to claim I'm completely recovered. I struggled with an invisible disease for over 10 years that was ruining my entire life and I didn't see it ever going away. I definitely feel vitamin D plays a huge role as well as lactobacillus in fixing our immune systems when something is wrong. The studies of lactobacillus and mental health and vitamin D are showing some promising and huge breakthroughs and my mental health and ability to deal with stress are vastly better than they've ever been and more robust. I urge anyone to give these a shot if you're having issues
@@georgesanderson918 when I started I was on an a really high dose for 3 months when my dr realised how severely low my levels were. Somewhere around 50,000 ui once a week from memory. Now I take about 5,000 with calcium (I randomly snapped finger from my low levels despite only being 30 at the time)
For me the jury is still out on Vitamin D and MS which I have. I started increasing Vitamin D in year 17 of MS and I didn't start meds until around year 14, but no one sees any issues when interacting with me.
For people who have been listening during these Covid-19 times your videos have taught us how important vitamin D supplementation is for that. This is such an added benefit as well. I hope this information gets widespread coverage. You’re doing a great service for us all. Thank you!
@Will R Thomson I’m with you man. My family calls me the vitamin D evangelist. So many lives have been lost to neglecting this one thing. I love the graffiti idea. Do you have a link to it?

Absolutely and all they do in Australia is ignore Aged Care Royal commission , neglect abuse. , substandard care ( My dad neglected ) imagine their levels but push the vaccination . How about education on Vit D , the light spectrum , and all that you can do to keep a healthy immune system , optimal function and I learned so much from this outstanding man during Melbourne long lockdowns . By the way . I was low in Vit D post trip to Hawaii and lots of sun ☀️ so already on 1000 units daily . @@joedoro9506 Not Click bait. Autoimmune diseases are not as common as cardiovascular diseases and therefore the absolute risk reduction is not going to be high like we are used to. NNT = 400 for 5 years. That's not that much when you consider that many many people take supplements. The bigger point that I am trying to make is that Rickets is not the only disease that you get from Vitamin D deficiency. We need to get outside more often and get into the light. Much benefit from this.

I've been taking 5k vit D3 (w/o soy) 6 days per week for ~5 yrs and have had zero colds or flu. I also take a plethora of other vits/minerals/herbs. Many hospital staff were genuinely surprised of my health (and zero prescriptions) as a 63 y/o while having hip surgery. We must be a very ill people was my thought with their reactions. It's sad. I learn from, share and enjoy these videos you produce. Most people would rather pop a pill than to be proactive with their health.
@@im_so_bored3896 3000 IU is safe. The upper limit in the EU is 4000 IU but that is set low. There is a risk of hypercalcaemia, when calcium from the bones goes into the blood but it usually only happens in rare cases at higher levels than yours (the risk is higher around 8000iu for a long time) I've read that you can take Vitamin K2 to prevent it and also magnesium is a good combination. How much I don't know but you can google it or make sure you're not deficient.
@@myshitonyoutube yeah that's what i knew too, 4000 should also be safe. but then I've also heard if you get nausea on it then that's a sign of hypercalcemia. i take magnesium daily and am not deficient. i will continue with the d3. thanks!
I have exercised outdoors many times since the sunlight video. Thank you for this unique perspective on how to stay healthy. I share this information with family and friends.
I've been diagnosed with ra and my life was turned upside down . I'm in construction and you can't imagine how much tougher it is to succeed at my job. Watching this video gave me new hope in possibly getting of the medicine I'm currently taking ( which I dislike taking any meds anyway) I'm gonna start taking vid d tonight and pray for the best. Thanks for the video and a new glimmer of hope.
I feel for you man. I don't know if this will help, since your joints have probably been damaged by the arthritis(?), but maybe you can get it into remission. I would stay on the meds they are giving you and supplement with Vit D. Here is my story - I was stricken with hashimoto's thyroiditis (autoimmune disease) shortly after I turned 40. Synthroid got my thyroid levels back to normal, but I still felt horrible. I am always fit and active -6'1 175lbs, cycling, play golf, hockey etc. Muscles ached after exercise, very poor recovery afterward. Saw an endocrinologist, rheumatologist, internal medicine specialist, and did a sleep study since I wasn't sleeping well. Nothing helped. After 3+ years of that with zero positive results, I saw an ad for "sunshine medicine", Vitamin D. Only 1 doctor checked my Vit D levels and said they were a bit low. I started taking 3000 iud per day and saw a huge improvement in my health. I now take 4000 iud per day and feel great - turning 55 this year. More background info - I live in Canada, began using sunscreen more often at 35 as well as getting outside less during the summer at this age (kids, work). My father also suffered from Rheumatoid arthritis and Sarcoidosis (both auto immune) beginning around the same age as me and my troubles, he was also getting out less in the summer. I don't think I would overload Vitamin D like some suggest, but 4000 iud works for me during the winter and I make sure I'm getting some natural Vitamin D (sun!) in the summer. I also don't stress about sunscreen in the summer unless I'm out for longer periods of time. One more note, If I get it on sale at Costco, I think it costs me .09 cents per day. People still don't believe me when I tell them my improvement is because of Vitamin D, even my family doctor thinks I'm feeling better because I'm exercising more.
@@stanschmenge1965 thanks for you story Stan, I plan to stay on meds for awhile until everything is under control. Just a couple of days getting sunshine and warmth relaxed me, eliminated so much anxiety and made me feel better than I have felt in years.. ☀️😎👍🌴

It was funny reading your comment as only last week I was speaking with a lady from California who was living here in Ireland. She was telling me once her contract was finished in September she was moving back to the US because she could not handle the cold, damp and dreary weather coupled with the long dark winter. I explained to her that the native Irish have been living here since 5000 B.C and have just grown accustomed to it and that it has little or no effect on us. After saying that I'm going to start taking Vitamin D supplements :)
Thank you for discussing the data and the key results of this study. I am 68 years old, eat one meal a day in the morning, take a supplemental stack everyday, and have a normal BMI. Science and medical information are key to a pain free existence in my case.
Trying to get really good data on supplements is such a challenge. Often the studies are small or they're retrospectives or they've got other flaws that make them hard to draw conclusions. It's nice to see something like this is being looked at by the big boys who can command the grant money to do the work and with the names to get it published where people would see it. Thanks for the great review of the study!
I was so healthy living in Southern California. When I moved to the Oregon coast where it is overcast and cold I didn't get as much sun. Very depressed, brain fog and sick.
My LLMD as in Lyme Litterate Medical Doctor put me on 5000 I/U of a prescription grade vitamin D years ago because my D was very low. He then diagnosed me with chronic Lyme disease in 2013. Through the multiple appointments I had with him the high dosage D I’m on helps me not have Lyme rage problems and experience autoimmune disease which he said that I was at risk of having Lyme disease for decades. My tick bite was around 1983 +/- a year. Diagnosis was 2013. I’m in my middle 50’s. I’m one of the first people in Minnesota to get Lyme disease.

Amazing. Not less. The problem is, that no pharmacuetucal company can make bilions of dollars out of Vit. D capsules. So we will not hear about that at any other place.
For 20 years I suffered from really bad psoriasis on my legs. I discovered by sunning my legs for 15 minutes a day I could keep it from flaring up (small patches still appeared ) . I started taking 2000iu of Vitamin D 18 months ago. After 3 months the psoriasis completely disappeared. I am thankful for the discovery.
Did you take every day or once a week please. Boyfriend has severe psoriasis so I am trying to research alternative therapies as only prescribed creams and ointments via doctor that make no difference. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Include megadoses of magnesium, add kelp for iodine to balance your thyroid and i also use colloidal silver water to spray on and make my own skin treatments using extra virgin unrefined organic coconut oil and shea and cocoa butters. To this i add frankincense, lavender, peppermint, and tea tree essential oils, ALWAYS THERAPEUTIC GRADE. This works better for me than anything any doctor has EVER PRESCRIBED. I also add essential oil of hellichrysum for the inflammation and bc it brings a cooling and shrinking sensation when i'm swollen. Many people with psoriatic arthritis love eo of wintergreen for a rub and don't even dilute it. I prefer putting it in a carrier oil so it doesn't overpower me and burn my eyes.
On the topic of going to the main site. i think all publicly available/free videos should be on youtube. Because I want to support this work, and ad revenue is a great way to do it. I don't need the videos that are just for doctors, but the research interpretation is incredibly helpful for me. And I would love to continue supporting through ad revenue.
Another great video. From what I am gathering from this research, prevention of autoimmune disease is certainly within reach. As Benjamin Franklin used to say “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” By the way, the relationship between BMI and reduced efficacy of vitamin D3 was expected due vitamin D3 being fat soluble and accumulating in adipose tissue rather than circulating. For those with higher BMI, a higher dose of vitamin D3 may be needed to obtain the same prophylactic results. Thanks for the great job you are doing.
I am very fortunate in that I spend a lot of time outdoors, gardening, running, walking, sunbathing (in moderation), plus gym. In big part, I put my good health & immune system (70+ now) down to being brought up in the countryside, exposed to plenty of farm dirt & sunshine, eating fresh fruits of the trees & veg straight out of the ground. Others I know are not so lucky. Thanks for this vid.
I started following Medcram just before the pandemic hit. Your reporting and analysis of medical related issues has been crucial for me and my wife. I have been on a heavy vitamin D regimen along with NAC, and quercetin and have had a seriously robust immune system. Thank you for that info!
I have rheumatoid arthritis and have been taking 2000 UI of D every day for years. I think I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was a kid, and it didn't go into full blown RA until I was 37 years old. Stress from my fulltime job, lack of sunlight and going to a chiropractor is what made me go into full blown RA.
As someone with nail psoriasis who very much does not want to develop psoriatic arthritis this is relevant to me, thank you. I am already taking vitamin D and keeping in shape so I'm feeling a bit better about the future now.
Please do take it! I had psoriasis for over 20 yrs, then after a very stress full life changes developed PsA. At the time I didn’t know it. I was always low Vit D as a child but didn’t understand the relevance as an adult. During routine blood work for surgery my levels came back very low. Months later... PsA. It’s ruined my life. I wish I knew back then what I know now.

Thanks Dr S. I did start on vit D3 when you first mentioned it. I am now on D3 with K2 and sea salt. The only thing I noticed was on my annual blood work, my TSH which sometimes ran around 6 was recorded at 2.95.

I increased my vitamin D3 intake at the start of the pandemic in 2020. I had already been taking fish oil for Omega 3. In 2021 I had two doses of the Covid vaccine after which I had a routine blood test that revealed my TSH had gone up from 3 to 10.5. I'm left confused!
This showed up in my feed and normally I would never click on this, with YT's record of charlatans, falsehoods, especially during the pandemic, where it's only gotten worse. Was therefore surprised how detailed and well-founded this was. I had to go back to my bookshelf and dig out some of my old statistics textbooks! 🤓My main take-away is that it confirms what our GP has encouraged us for years. He has been working on and observing the effects of high-dose VitD for years. Getting annual blood tests, he had observed lingering immune issues with me and had me go on 5,000IU of VitD for several years now. The results in my anecdotal case are quite remarkable, with the immune markers improving measurably. My wife is on 2,000IU as a maintenance dosis. Both in our late 50s but very healthy compared to many of our friends and acquaintances. So this study does indicate that our VitD intake may well help!
Very interesting. I have suffered with IBD (colitis) for 45 years and have recently started taking Vit D3 due to its publicity in COVID. I also have been taking zinc (15mg /day) for over 10 years - I am absolutely convinced that Zinc prevents colds and chest infections. So was very interested in this presentation for autoimune diseases, for which IBD is now highly correlated. Thanks, I shall continue with the Vit D and see its effect on flare ups.
I added 100mg of Zinc and 500mg of Vitamin C along with 4000iu of D3 and 2000 of B12 (sublingual). I am the only person in my family who did not get covid19 or any other cold or flu. Also, I am convinced the Zinc has helped in a major way to reduce the effects of rosacea on my face as I am of Irish descent and have been told that is why I have such a nasty case of rosacea. I also wash my hair and face with Selsun Blue Medicated shampoo to keep the rosacea at bay. A bottle of that shampoo costs around $8 and a bottle lasts for a few months. Monthly pharmaceutical treatment is around $120 per month. The Walmart version of Selsun Blue works for me at a dollar or so less. The Meijer version does not seem to work even though all three have the same level of the active ingredient that treats this adult acne.
Increase your dosage of Vit D. Read up on it. Up to 10,000 is safe. I take about 7000 a day .It's more like a natural male hormone that helps in many many ways .
Due to COVID I was able to work from home and then I would stay inside and watch TV. Hardly got any sun. After a few months I had a flare up of an unspecified autoimmune disease. I had a lot of bloating. Sadly was on steriods for so long I then had horrible side effects and then getting off the sterioids caused its own pain. I thought about my life changes and came up with the lack of Vitamin D. I make sure I get outside a little bit everyday now. Almost two years and no other flare up.
I have been taking a Vitamin D supplement since I 52 so about 10 years, I was vitamin D3 deficient. I have been taking 2000 IU's for all that time. As covid began spreading I upped my daily intake to 3000 units, then when the omicron variant began its spread around the world I went up to 5000 IU's. I also decided on a dedicated B complex formula daily, even though I was taking B vitamins in a multivitamin. Since then I have been in good shape. I have had chest infections in the past every winter, but have been quite good during covid. Thanks for your video.
Hello, have been taking 50,000IU weekly for two months now and have been noticing changes on my nails, and skin but brain fog, difficulty to focus still persist. Can you advise me on how you were able to conquer yours
The fact that the sub Saharan countries did not suffer from COVID infection as much as developed northern hemisphere countries suggests that their life style (being outside much of the time) and higher Vitamin D levels had some protective effect. Thanks for this great discussion. I would want to review how many women were included in the study vs men as women seem to be disproportionately affected by autoimmune conditions (potentially suggesting a hormonal effect as well).
Yet countries on similar latitudes to sub-saharan Africa, like India and Brazil, had quite high covid numbers. It seems the lower age of the average black African is prob also a major factor.
As a female hormones have always been the bane of my life. Autoimmune conditions joined the party at the start of perimenopause. I often ponder how totally different my life could have been if hormonal fluctuations had been removed from the equation!
I've been taking 50,000 units of vitamin D3 one tablet every Sunday morning for about three years now. I've never been sick with anything and not even during the covid-19 period. I am 72 years old.
I signed up at the Autoimmune Registry and one of their articles said that many people with Autoimmune diseases have Leukemia and need a bone marrow or stem cell transplant ! My bones and pelvic bone are always hurting and my hip broke suddenly once when I was still fairly young; But I've never been able to access any bone tests to check for Osteoporosis or Leukemia-but your immune system starts in your bone marrow -so maybe the bones would be a good place to consider checking for immunity and bone health !
...I use to have very bad psoriasis coverage. Had plaques all over my body, face, inner ears and scalp. Suffered for 40 years with expensive medications that rarely worked that well. Cleared the patches up with a combination of : Vitamin D3 and Fish Oil oral supplements. Stress management (started yoga and walking after work to help me destress). Plus also combined that with Dietary Modifications (I identified certain inflammatory triggers, things like excessive sugar intake, nightshades, cheese, and gluten). Took just under a year to completely clear. Had the occasional flare afterwards, until I started to also supplement with a Zinc & Vitamin C combo power (started it to help reduce flu symptoms), and noticed since I added the Zinc, all flares have completely ceased. It will be 14 years this year since I cleared. From my own experiences, I would suggest : avoiding any food triggers, and supplementing with Vitamin D3, Fish Oil and Zinc. These three really are vital I think. Also if you can afford it, a good quality Marine Collegan powder may also be beneficial.
@@MrsSlocombesPuddyCat thank you for taking the time for such a detailed reply. I take all the supplements that you suggest. I have had bad fingernail psoriasis for 15 years. I really wish they would have had a group on higher D3, to see how that goes. I take 20,000iu of D3 plus Omega 3s. When I take less I notice my health suffers. I started taking high D3 early in the pandemic, and I just kept feeling better. This study is only a first step in understanding how important D3 is.
According to Vitamin D researchers such as the late Dr. Heaney of Creighton University, PhD. Bruce Hollis of the Medical Center of South Carolina and PhD. Michael Holick of the Boston University Medical Center a daily intake of 2000 IU's is still a very low amount of Vitamin D. They all do/did a great job explaining the specifics on lectures they presented which can be found on UA-cam.
Good discussion on Vit D, Omega 3 importance. I wish more research would look at the VDR equation, and dys-regulation, as a theory for cronic Low D levels.

Many thanks for your exceptionally informative reports. For many years in Uk I suffered from sinus problems but not severe. I had 12 months out travelling the world in my 50's and the sinus problems disappeared for years. However back to a normal work environment and age the sinus increased in severity. Another fallacy is that Vit D levels are only low in northern latitudes, in fact the highest levels are in hot sunny countries with Pakistan, Saudi leading the pack. Combination of dress code and intense temperatures lead to virtually 100% skin coverings.
My husband has been taking Vit. d supplement also did not escape autoimmune diseases. I found out his was related to vaccines, recent vaccination plus infection equals abnormal immune system response.
I started taking High Vitamin Doses after my doctor tested me with severe insufficient Vit D levels. I´m still a bit low and have to take them, but my life has changed for the better. I´m more active and feel more energized than ever. Test plus medication costs 80€ in Germany.
My VitD levels have never been above 50, despite living in Australia. And I've had auto immune markers on my recent blood tests. I think I'll have to start taking my supplements more seriously
Thank YOU, Dr. Roger Seheult! You were the first one I listened to early in March 2020 and started taking D3 and took 4000IU a day and then took up to 8000 Iu during the height of covid but unfortunately without K2 but I took zinc, Vitamin C and Quercetin and I was taking Synthroid for my thyroid and noticed that my joints esp my knees hurt a lot. I then stopped taking thyroid meds for a few days and right away noticed my joints were so much better and stopped taking synthroid for 2 weeks and felt really well. Then I started taking synthroid again and again got pain in my joints. I repeated the testing by going off the synthroid and even told my doctor who told me I was imagining it. This is my own testing, on myself. I will be going for a blood test for my thyroid after I have been off synthroid for 4 wks to 6 wks and then see what the results say.
He said “you’re imagining it” because he wants you to keep taking prescriptions because he gets kickbacks from big pharma. But he doesn’t make any money when you take God’s natural medicine!
Recommended daily allowance was always the minimum before you manifested deficiency (rickets) No one has really ever studied the optimum level needed for health, which I suspect would be a range based on individual needs

Of course, talk to your doctor first, but I had pretty bad UC since 2007. In 2019 my doc had me start taking a much higher daily dose of vit D... within a month I was in complete remission and was off humira. It's now 2022 and I'm still in remission. ❤

Yes, check out Vitamin D for All website for recommendations by numerous doctors around the world. I saw a few doctors recommend vitamin d3 doses up to 200,000 IUs for certain autoimmune disorders. It seems that Drs from Portugal and Brazil are much more liberal eith the dosage of vitamin D

All diseases have their bases in their lack of nutritional deficiencies. I founded that info by accidentally when reading on why the AMA doesn't make or list nutritional training in US medical school's curriculum. J.P. Morgan did his homework when came to Healthcare when he founded the AMA. He or someone that worked for him saw a lucrative market and makes lot of money. Magnesium and Potassium deficiencies are the main culprits, but lacking other vitamins: A, B1 thru B12, C, D3, Fish Oil, K2 with M7, Zinc and Copper (taking on alternate days or nights in 50 - 100 mgs doses). Other vitamins taken in doses of 200 - 400 unless told by nutritional doctor. You should do daily exercises like walking, jogging, light weightlifting along with Push-ups, Squats and Stretching for strength training and Blood Circulation.
I developed severe psoriatic arthritis and at the same time an extremely sweaty head ....my scalp and face would get drenched in sweat for no reason. My vitamin D level was 13. After taking a few days of 50,000 units per day the sweating went away and my joints felt at least 50% better. I am now on 5,000 units daily. I still have psoriatic arthritis but it's under control

It is becoming more and more evident (especially since covid) that those who have higher BMIs are more at risk of health issues, not just cardiac problems. There's a lot to be said for keeping a healthy weight and diet!
@@donnablosser7982 This is very true. In fact when I think of many of my family & friends who were diagnosed with various autoimmune disorders, about 80% are within a "healthy" BMI.
So I guess my taking 4000iu a day has been worthwhile after all (until that bubble has popped again). Also taking Omega 3. Now, have to work on that weight. Been getting out just about every day for a long walk, but its usually cloudy and the middle of winter so not sure how much benefit I'm getting. Been trying to get my autistic daughter out with me, she's not very willing.
Using olive oil as a placebo might have skewed the data slightly here. I had an inflammation of my digestive tract for several years (my CRP went up to 33). I healed it eventually using extra virgin olive oil every day, plus probiotics and fermented foods daily. Extra virgin olive oil has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, so isn't really inactive like a placebo should be. Still, very interesting though. I have 2 autoimmune conditions that I'm controlling with fasting and a vegan diet. I'm off all meds for asthma now and down to one med for RA in achieved remission for the first time in 30 years.
@@OceanFrontVilla3 I've already gone vegan and mostly sugar-free. I'm considering going gluten-free for a while to see how much difference it makes. I have tried moringa power but it tastes disgusting, so I might get around to putting it into capsules at some point. Dairy is by far the worst culprit diet-wise. When I've accidentally consumed trace amounts of dairy I've been crippled within about half an hour.
@@OceanFrontVilla3 I had a breakthrough with the RA when I included fasting. I can get into remission from a severe flare with 5 to 7 days of fasting, which I can then maintain with a vegan diet. I discovered years ago that fasting put me into remission, but didn't understand why it was happening or how to maintain it once I started eating again. In 2016 Yoshinori Ohsumi won the Nobel Prize for Medicine for his work on autophagy and I saw him being interviewed shortly after. One of the things he said he discovered was that in autoimmune disease the autophagy mechanism was defective and that you could force it to work with fasting. That's why the fasting works, so when you combine it with a diet that doesn't cause the disease to flare again you can maintain remission for long periods of time as long as you do top up fasts. My top up fasts are 72 hours long. This is based on the work of Prof. Valter Longo of the University of Southern California, who was a nominee for the Nobel Prize for Medicine the same year Yoshinori won it. He found you can reset the immune system with a 72 hour fast. You kill off defective immune cells and new ones are generated. It's worth taking a look at both of their work to see what you can take away from it to help your niece. Obviously, it would depend on whether it was possible for her to fast with her condition, and it's best to get adapted to running on ketones before doing a long fast. It can be gruelling to do if you're body isn't used to using ketones for fuel.
I understand the lower BMI factor being critical to supplement success, however, I feel the daily Vitamin D3 supplementation levels are still pitiably low even at 4000 IU. What about 10,000 IU or 15,000 IU daily? Maybe the Omega-3 fish oil amount needs to be increased exponentially as well in obese patients. This is why well-designed studies need to factor in all of the pertinent variables before possibly incorrect conclusions are drawn. Heavier, obese individuals have been well proven to need more supplementation, especially when talking about fat-soluble vitamins and minerals. This aspect needs to be examined more closely undoubtedly so we can know the real truth. I would also suggest that the patient's Vitamin D3 blood level must be tested and known before, during, and after all supplementation. Calcium levels as well also. If the participant's blood level of Vitamin D is below 50 ng/ml it can be clearly argued that they are not taking enough Vitamin D3 or not getting sufficient sunlight exposure. (Morbidly obese patients may require a blood level of 75 ng/ml or even 100 ng/ml possibly) I think this is especially critical for individuals with a high BMI index not to mention all patients to a somewhat lesser degree.
True. Also: there are great genetically determined differences in d3 utilisation/metabolism which is independent of BMI. Certain genomic tests give data on that.
Very good results. What's weird though looking at the graphs it's kind of evident that either om3 or d3 alone did almost as well. I have an inkling that either reduces inflammation thus preserving more of the body's essential grease like glutathione.
In 2020 what started as a suspected trapped nerve in my arm later (3weeks later) I was admitted in hospital with a suspected stroke. 1 week later I was paralysed from the waist down, cleared of a stroke and diagnosed with a condition called transverse myelitis, a neurological autoimmune disorder with no cure. Initially I was told it was idiopathic (not known how I got it) One thing that was picked up was my vitamin D level was extremely low which shocked me because I am a sun worshiper. I've been on 5000mg of vitamin D supplements for 18 months now and my levels have improved a bit but still low. Recently my specialist expressed that she believes that I Initially contracted covid ( I was slightly unwell in late November 2020 but covid symptoms at that time was unknown) she thinks this developed into long covid and because on my vitamin D deficiency, it developed into transverse myelitis. My life has changed forever and maybe if I had any idea or indication that my vitamin D levels were low, things may have ended different for me.

Rather than the relative results, it might be more beneficial to see the absolute statistical analysis. That way we would see how many people it really impacted versus a percentage. Percentages can be misleading.

Vitamin D is not enough, sorry.

we should do a study to check if vitamin D reduces cancer, in fact vitamin D is more present in the body in summer since the sun on the skin allows it to be synthesized.
Yes 2000 useless

Are you serious did they expect people in their 50s and 60s to develop any autoimmune disease when 90% of cases happen between the age of 20 and 40 years old? I am also pretty sure the same results happen when following up on cancer rates. All this is saying is that vitamin D does straighten the immune system which in the first place proves that there are no autoimmune diseases but rather an immune system trying to fighr something it cant seem to overcome yet.

It takes about four weeks for Vit D to be converted by the liver to the active form (calcifediol) that benefits the immune system.

Almost nine months a year of rain, cold, snow and constant gray is beyond depressing.. We visited Arizona for 3 days last week and felt like a million bucks.. Soon as we got home we immediately decided to sell our house and move to the Southwest.. Just a couple of days getting sunshine and warmth relaxed me, eliminated so much anxiety and made me feel better than I have felt in years.. ☀️😎👍🌴
Where did you visit? I am hoping to plan a trip to check out Phoenix this year. I really hope there are work opportunities for me move from Canada!
@@CoCoCat1234 Phoenix is exactly where we visited. Very clean and all around beautiful area. From Scottsdale to Sun City.. Yes!! Tons of job opportunities as well. Humble, nice home prices are really good right now not to mention the low property taxes! Culturally diverse and lots too do.. A half day drive to the California coast, beautiful San Diego and LA. Beats the crap hole of Portland and all that goes with the region.. Go for it but do not delay to long.. Best wishes to you!! ☀️☀️🌴🌵👊😎
It’s going to get extremely hot there….
Thank you for discussing the data and the key results of this study. I am 68 years old, eat one meal a day in the morning, take a supplemental stack everyday, and have a normal BMI. Science and medical information are key to a pain free existence in my case.
wow thats amazing. i fast but not like you. well done. i am 66 and not on any drugs.
Thank you MedCram Team and Dr. Seheult.
Excellent information always.

2000 IU a day is too low especially if you live north of the mason dixon line

For 20 years I suffered from really bad psoriasis on my legs. I discovered by sunning my legs for 15 minutes a day I could keep it from flaring up (small patches still appeared ) . I started taking 2000iu of Vitamin D 18 months ago. After 3 months the psoriasis completely disappeared. I am thankful for the discovery.
Did you take every day or once a week please. Boyfriend has severe psoriasis so I am trying to research alternative therapies as only prescribed creams and ointments via doctor that make no difference. Any advice greatly appreciated.
I have psoriasis too, and found out my Vit D is really low. My Dr placed me on a high dose two weeks ago. I hope I see a difference in my psoriasis.

I think I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was a kid, and it didn't go into full blown RA until I was 37 years old.
My husband lost a lot of weight due to being diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic - the result has been the diabetes has gone into reversal but the side effect has been that his psoriasis has completely cleared up too. He does intermittent fasting (two meals a day and three days of the week very low calorie intake). Hope this may help someone.
I learned that dogs and horses get Autoimmune disease too, when searching for information about my own. One website that cares for dogs said they test each dog to see which Immune system they have and then breed them to an immune match-sounds pretty smart !
Thanking you and your team falls well short of expressing my gratitude.
I will be sure to share this research with my doctors!
Any tips for a newbie to colitis?

Due to COVID I was able to work from home and then I would stay inside and watch TV. Hardly got any sun. After a few months I had a flare up of an unspecified autoimmune disease. I had a lot of bloating. Sadly was on steriods for so long I then had horrible side effects and then getting off the sterioids caused its own pain. I thought about my life changes and came up with the lack of Vitamin D. I make sure I get outside a little bit everyday now. Almost two years and no other flare up.
Super exciting news. Clarity was great as usual. Thank you🌞
I have been taking a Vitamin D supplement since I 52 so about 10 years, I was vitamin D3 deficient.

There is also less far-spread traveling so there is not as much spread of the virus. If there is, the infections are mostly local.
I've been taking 50,000 units of vitamin D3 one tablet every Sunday morning for about three years now. I've never been sick with anything and not even during the covid-19 period. I am 72 years old.
Vitamins, in general, are used so infrequently, it's really amazing.
Can’t wait to listen and hear if this will help psoriasis.
...I use to have very bad psoriasis coverage.

They all do/did a great job explaining the specifics on lectures they presented which can be found on UA-cam.

I take vitamin D but it seems to make my back hurt more (I have psoriatic arthritis) and I feel like taking the b complex hurts my back too. Am I crazy? I just have the ch50 high everything else is whiting normal values
@@carloscarneiro7021 I had to give up dairy, it was making my fingers swell.....I love milk too ☹️
@@Er-sv5tn I don't feel pain from eating food just when I drink alcohol. I don't understand this disease that I got after taking prednisone and amoxicilin :(
@Shabbir My last level was 43....the rheumatologist wants me around 60...I will be taking your advice
How long did you take the 50k units per day before you lowered it to 5k?
I love the teaching in this video for reasons unrelated to the topic of the video 😂 very clear and concise teaching very beneficial for research students 💯
Known about this for years. It also reduces internal cancers.
Thanks so much for posting this. As always, well done.
It is becoming more and more evident (especially since covid) that those who have higher BMIs are more at risk of health issues, not just cardiac problems. There's a lot to be said for keeping a healthy weight and diet!
Many people who are in a normal bmi range and eat decently have autoimmune issues.
Being over weight isn't helpful but it's not the cause.
@@donnablosser7982 This is very true. In fact when I think of many of my family & friends who were diagnosed with various autoimmune disorders, about 80% are within a "healthy" BMI.
I have autoimmune disease with Lupus and chronic ITP
So I guess my taking 4000iu a day has been worthwhile after all (until that bubble has popped again). Also taking Omega 3. Now, have to work on that weight. Been getting out just about every day for a long walk, but its usually cloudy and the middle of winter so not sure how much benefit I'm getting. Been trying to get my autistic daughter out with me, she's not very willing.
Thank you for such a great video! Keep up the wonderful work Dr.

@@cn-123 I'm currently taking 3,000 ius in a capsule that also contains 100 micrograms of K2
@@Eleitores_Desinformados Roughly about a tablespoon most days - in food.
May I ask which brand of olive oil you're taking n how much are you taking other supplements or vitamins too ?!
Appreciate your help 🙏
Old research said this too. Bold timing..
Agree I do 50k iu shot 1x a month plus 10k daily my blood work showed I was at 80% of normal / high range where I used to be woefully low
I take 200 000 UI daily for 4 days and I'm fine. Then I take 50 000, 100 000 daily

More studies needed on active vs inactive vitamin D. Some people convert too much inactive into active causing problems and a low vit D test.
Very good results. What's weird though looking at the graphs it's kind of evident that either om3 or d3 alone did almost as well. I have an inkling that either reduces inflammation thus preserving more of the body's essential grease like glutathione.
GREAT NEWS! Thanks so much Doc.
Initially I was told it was idiopathic (not known how I got it)
One thing that was picked up was my vitamin D level was extremely low which shocked me because I am a sun worshiper.
Thank you for sharing your incredible story. My prayers and best wishes for you as you cope with this life-changing condition.
@@Medcram thank you ❤
And thank you for education people on many various topics, for me especially vitamin D and the impact deficiency can have on you're health and life.
I have shared this video widely to friends and family.
You need to take mega doses to get to 100ng fast- I took 80 k a day for 4 days the 25k for 30 days…Hashimoto gone!!
Those with higher BMI should have been given a larger vitamin D dose to increase the accuracy of the trial.
I was stricken with hashimoto's thyroiditis (autoimmune disease) shortly after I turned 40.
Rather than the relative results, it might be more beneficial to see the absolute statistical analysis. That way we would see how many people it really impacted versus a percentage. Percentages can be misleading.
Thank you for these videos. I have been watching your videos since Covid began & I truly appreciated all your scientific information along the way. God bless you!
