      Have you tried spraying the canvas with water in an Atomizer to help achieve soft blends, it helps but there's definitely a knack to it. If you get it just so it's like blending oils

    This is so useful for the the procrastinator. Wonder what it must be like to look at a picture and know you can end up with a finished creation. You make it look so easy but, of course it is anything but.
    Thank a million Michele ❣️

    Thank you for basic demo, to me these basics on this and water color help. It was telling us from step to step a d how much water to use, thank you for step by step. In water color can you talk more about how much water on brushes and mixing paint before applying. Thank you so much, really enjoy and appreciate you😊

    Love this! Still in my first year of learning to paint and I use both watercolor and acrylic. I tend to choose paint based on my time and mood :) Acrylic - I need to have time to finish before it dries (and then clean my brushes!). Watercolor - I can do a few minutes, let it dry, come back for more, let it dry, come back, etc. etc. (note to self: don't forget to at least rinse that brush well!)

    I v tried acrylics I still want to paint on canvas but I v gone back to watercolour painting because you really have to work hard to get anywhere with acrylic s as with watercolour it flows and blends so easy and very forgiving if you mess up just apply a tissue damp to the area and lift off

    I am also a watercolor artist, trying my hand at acrylics. Can we sketch in pencil, instead of using paint to sketch? I am a bit more comfortable sketching in pencil because that is what I am used to.

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  9 місяців тому +1

      You can, I would use a hard pencil as you don't want graphite smudging everything. I would also be inclined to put a first layer of paint down rather than sketch on bare canvas, this will prevent gaps later.

    Thanks for all the details you give us while you're painting, including the little boo boos. While it's relaxing to watch someone paint with the soothing music in the background, those kinds of videos aren't really teaching anything. I'm new to acrylic painting,,, someone gave me a box of 64 colors and some small canvases, so I'm eager to learn how to use them. I realize that the craft paint is probably different than artist quality paint, it should at least get me started.

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  Рік тому +2

      It's generally said that watercolours are hard, but I never found it so, you have to take into account personality, what you have an afinity and love for. If you enjoy watercolours more than acrylics then you will do a better job of learning. When I started out I tried lots of different mediums to see which I preferred. Don't worry about what other people say, just try them out and see how you feel :-)

    A nice comment? But I'm a grumpy old got, being nice isn't natural. And then of course, I can make an exception for you. So through a smile, the words, marvelous work, I enjoyed every moment of the tutorial, and look forward gleefully to next weeks upload, depart a mouth unaccustomed to sentences of this nature.... Hehehe.
    Just teasing you, I've been watching your content for a while now, and have yet to find fault. I do get the impression that this was well and truly out of your comfort zone. When I compare this to the ease with which watercolour pictures flow from those skilled fingers of yours, I had the feeling that you struggled a bit. Maybe acrylic is a medium you haven't practiced in a while. I have a terrible time trying to create images from pictures and the like with acrylics. So I resort to abstract images instead. The thing is, when doing that, I often result in what I saw in my mind to start with. Not everyone's cup of. But I enjoy the process.
    So, is next Thursday a date? Lol.
    My sense of humour is going to cost me one day.
    TTFN.

    I almost bought some acrylics lately after years of not using them. But then it occurred to me that it’s basically liquid plastic. With the amount of people in the world and the state of the environment using acrylics is just not morally justifiable to me anymore. Even letting the paint water evaporate - you still have plastic matter to be disposed of. There’s a balance I think we all have to be aware of these days between the worth of our art as something enjoyable to make and look at and the failing planet. The closest things otherwise are oil or traditional (not acrylic) gouache. I do hear someone makes a more environmentally sound acrylic but haven’t been able to find it.

      @@carollen5633 not sure why it’s a tad overboard. Everybody has to be ‘nice’ all the time while our waterways are beyond polluted with plastics already and they’re finding it in the very deepest places they can get to in the sea and fish and equation animals are dying out so much they say we may have fish less oceans not too far off. A tad overboard? What ‘I like to paint pretty things so screw the planet and everything on it’? You’re overboard in your ignorance and disdain.

      It's certainly worth thinking about the environment, which is why I don't do acrylic paint pouring videos. There are far worse sources of plastic in daily use, but we should always be striving to improve. Some watercolors are far from environmentally friendly as it happens.
