We experienced the peak of our era, and now it is gone. Recession is tanking everything including 401K. My retirement equities portfolio of $750K is in the reds. I keep losing because of inflation. This world will fall to the corrupt rulers in the same way that Rome did. I'm sorry if you're thinking about retiring and you're worried that your pension won't be enough to meet the rising cost of living. Horrible foreign policies everywhere, bad regulatory policy, bad fiscal policy, and bad energy policy.
For retirees and those close to retirement, I believe it's particularly challenging. All those years of labor only to lose it all to a problem you weren't responsible for, my regrets to everyone retiring during this time.
I'm very worried about the future and where we're all heading, especially in terms of money and how to get by. I'm considering making my first investment in the stock market, but how can I do so given that the market has been in a mess for the majority of the year?
After the pandemic, things became extremely difficult, which is precisely when I sought a consultant's counsel. I've been investing on my own for nearly 3 years and have built up a stagnant reserve of $280K to $570K in just over 24 months.
@@theresahv I’m in dire need of guidance so i can salvage my portfolio due to the massive dips and come up with better strategies. How can I reach this advisor?
My advisor Julie Anne Hoover’is highly qualified and experienced in the financial market. She has extensive knowledge of portfolio diversity and is considered an expert in the field. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.

That's a huge statement about how far the Bangladeshi English newspapers grew in terms of quality. It makes the moment even more savouring considering 'The Daily Star' news got highlighted ahead of all the English newspapers in the Asia the past week. Thanks a bunch,BBC ❤️.
Bangladesh is 35th economy and becoming world economic power so Bangladesh is gradually grabbing soft power and global attention

Turbulent
Thank you! 😃
It was nice
2021 was such a turbulent year for my country, thousands of people died and the recession of economy due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, so it was all doom and gloom for the whole population at that time. But now, we overcame it and my country experienced rapid progress in many aspects.
This one was amazing! And I am elated that you guys included headline of the Daily Star, the top English newspaper of Bangladesh.
1. I want to overcome my fear of public speaking.
2. I took an exam today which went quite badly. But I guess it's not all doom and gloom because I have more exams like this and I can do better at those if I try hard.
3. I hope 2023 is not as turbulent as 2022.
I would like to know if I made any mistake in the above sentences. This lesson was so good!
Amazing examples.
Excellent examples of the language there and no mistakes! 😃 Thank you for your lovely comment 🥰
@@bbclearningenglish Thanks a lot!🤗
I was literally astonished to listen my country name by you but before that i was somewhat doom and gloom 😁🇧🇩
The world is facing many economic challenges, including food security, climate change
turbulent can also be used to describe relationships
Thanx for the lesson.
Can turbulent be subbed for chaotic
They are very similar and can be used interchangeably sometimes!
The main difference is that 'turbulent' often means there are ups and downs/good times and bad times in a situation or a place. For example, in a turbulent relationship, sometimes you are happy together, and other times you aren't happy.
'chaotic' means there is confusion and no order to something. So, a chaotic relationship means you never know if it's good or bad because there is always something confusing, disordered or dramatic happening.
I am so such pleased to hear the word 'Bangladesh '🥀🇧🇩
It's pleasure to be hear

It is very sad to see such degradation. Previously, the forum, conceived as an economic one, was the center of discussion of the economy, business, human development, and now it has become an axis of evil, where military corporations discuss the supply of tanks and weapons. Shame.
Teacher Beth is really cute and lovely when she explained about turbulent with physical activities 😍
This channel provides the great opportunities for us to learning English
Thanks! We're glad you enjoy our channel 😊
0:24 what does "as" means in this sentence..does it synonym with "because"?
Interestingly, when the US and the "allies" invade a country, it isn't called an "invasion", it's called something different. And that's a good example of the "hypocrisy" word.
It's called propaganda my friend
Indeed. I am sick of them mentioning Russian "invasion" in every single video.
@@mariasilenthill maybe they were told to do it
@@arinasalvatore8095 Of course they were told to but it's disgusting honestly. I want to study English, not to listen to their agenda.
I love Neil and Beth. I'd love they were my English teacher.
Thank you 🥰🥰

Doom and gloom turbulent
I am not very good at English but it's not all doom and gloom.
The vocabulary from this video BBC news review "Global economy slows down":
- Recession (n) - a temporary fall in a country's or the world's business activities. A period of 2 or more quarters when the economy shrinks. Exp: As prices continue to rise, the global economy is getting closer to a recession.
- Shrink (v) - become smaller or move backward.
- Invasion (n) - a military invasion. Invade (v) - to attack other countries. Exp: Reasons for slow growth include Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the impact of the pandemic, etc.
- Loom (v) - to appear indistinctly/unclearly. Exp: a huge ship loomed up in the fog.
1) Overcome (v) - to deal with a difficult problem. Similar to defeat or control. Exp: She overcomes her fear of the dark. You might overcome your shyness. It means you gain control of your shyness. Used in the passive voice - You are overcome by emotion - it means you have a strong reaction including a strong physical reaction such as shaking with fear or crying. It's definitely a challenge but I'm sure you'll overcome it soon.
2) Doom and gloom (expression) - used to describe a generally bad situation. It's far from being all doom and gloom on the economy - It means it's not as bad as you think. It isn't all doom and gloom. Doom (n) - death or destruction, a fate, especially something terrible, and finally which is about to happen to someone. Gloom (n) - related to the darkness, and sadness. My dog was sick and now my cat needs an operation. It's all doom and gloom in this house!
3) Turbulent (adj) - not calm, unstable. Used to describe the state or history of a country or place. A turbulent country is a place that has experienced some conflicts, and maybe some violence. Exp: The country is experiencing a turbulent period. Workers are protesting again.
So the year 2022 was very turbulent. When we had been overcoming many difficult problems like Russia's invasion of Ukraine, various environmental disasters, famine, and many protests. However, we believe that it wasn't all doom and gloom. There were still fantastic achievements despite those challenges. We are looking forward to the new opportunities and success.
Many thanks for this video. Have a great day.
I admire your effort❤
