I watched that and now I'm watching this! I think I am very likely to slash the risk of my own premature death since I've been running at least 9 kilometers nearly every single day! Good for me!
Light running as a daily habit will tend to an active lifestyle a healthy cardiac conscious function of ones free willing life...hard running will and can be unhealthy for the body overall
1/ Slash (v): Negative meaning: cut something by knife violently Positive meaning: reduce something by significant amount To slash the risk of something 2/ Premature (a): earlier than expected or natural time Pre = before, mature = to be ready 3/ Run for your life: move as fast as possible away from danger Negative way: get out of/ move away from dangerous situation Positive way: doing helpful something now, the good result will come in future. A slow 50- minute jog a week is very effective to help live longer. It can not only slash the risk of health issues but also the premature dangers. Thus, we keep doing exercise to run for our life!
Hello Neil and Georgina!!! I'm so thrilled to see your face. I am a huge fan of your 6-min stories. Thank you guys so much for bringing us so many interesting and informative stories. Love from Vietnam.
slash: cut, reduce (a significant amount) premature(adj): earlier than the expected or nature time. run for your life! : move as fast as possible away from danger. Thank you so much for your sharing great video
Well to be very honest This the most effective way to teach where we find following advantages 1 find out new words 2 meaning of the words 3 usage of the words in the right context 4 find out not only literal but figurative meaning as well 5 discussion between both these 2 teachers over the words make every aspect crystal clear God bless you teachers
1.Having good diets including fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts helps me to slash the risk of premature death. 2. I run for my life by doing physical exercise regularly.
Oh! That’s so interesting topic! Thanks for your conversation! I’m not a runner 🏃♀️ but few times I’ve tried to run in my courtyard and each time I felt a difficulty breathing after 2-3 minutes the running. Maybe I need to run much more and then my breathing will be better and happier 😀
Yes, Georgina is absolutely brilliant!!! The best English teacher, I just adore her classes!!! So clear, so nice, just amazing!!! Is pity they are not airing her often on BBC learning english
Hi~ I've got one question about this video here. When they were explaining the word "slash", Neil said that he would not say 'Rob needs to slash......'. And Georgena agreed. However, that sentence is shown in the slides as an example. mmmm... I feel a little bit confused.
Hi. We get studies almost every day and each one has information to keep us healthy, but in the future we may hear a new study saying that running is dangerous. For example There are studies that say meat is so important for our lives, but at the same time there are studies saying the opposite.
I think that those who simply can't run, or have difficulties to do it, have obviously a bad health, so they die earlier. But in another point of view, those who run often, will not stop being able to run, if they like it. So they will carry on their health to remain able to run.
Slash. e.g. The quality of paper-making production slashed as the demand has grown by leaps and bounds in the one to two decades. Premature e.g. The football fans celebrated winners prematurely despite not knowing about which team win at the end of contest. Unfortunately, their favourite team couldn't receive an award in this competition. Run for your life e.g. There is a lion behind you! Run for your life All of them are in one sentence. e.g. If senior citizens take up jogging every morning as a gentle exercise, they could surely slash the risk of dying prematurely and keep running for their lives that provides a longer lifespan as well as a better quality of life.
Although we're sure chefs and cooks would agree with you, we commonly use 'cut' with 'cake'. In weddings there are often cake-cutting ceremonie where people gather to watch the bride and groom make the first cut (slice) into the cake. 😃
Your brain will work better if you take regular exercise, according to a study. Watch the video: ua-cam.com/video/eRqYUTA5JJo/v-deo.html

My son’s former pediatrician is a specialist who is good at saving premature babies.
You never "cut" a cake or carrot. You should use the word "slice" for that. Respects from Mubushar Sulehria.
Although we're sure chefs and cooks would agree with you, we commonly use 'cut' with 'cake'. In weddings there are often cake-cutting ceremonie where people gather to watch the bride and groom make the first cut (slice) into the cake. 😃
