Snap..he does a cracking Cloughie impression..hes even got his mannerisms off to a tee as well! You can tell that Clougie has made a huge impact on Crossleys' career!
Mark Crossley has got Brian Clough impersonation off to a tee, absolutely brilliant, you can listed to these stories a million times and still laugh every time, priceless.
Mark crossley has some brilliant Cloughy stories ,but the Craig Bromfield interview will bring you close to tears, what a class act Clough and the whole family were
The best thing about under the cosh..... keeping real football players and real football fans connected Something the MSM could never comprehend or accept Thanks lads Fucking brilliant 🇮🇪❤️
Cloughie was incomparable and is irreplaceable. The more I hear his interviews and stories about him; the better I understand why the vast majority of his players loved him and still do to this day. Crossley's impression of Cloughie is absolute class.
Aside the Saunders story which Alan Hill claimed was 90% bullshit. I know who I'm inclined to believe. Well known Clough had a drink problem but to embellish a story like Saunders did was disrespectful and upsetting to Clough's family. The Crossley story appear's genuine and a fair recollection. Not the first time it's been recalled by Crossley.
Stumbled across this a year ago whilst driving form Newcastle to Elgin and it was the best drive with the Highlands and me creased listening to Clough stories.
Watched loads of these through the lockdown but this one is pure gold dust .. literally got tears streaming down my face .. isn’t there a video to go with it anywere ? Brilliant
Had huge respect for Cloughie when we (oldham) played Forrest in league cup final..On the walk out he made sure big Joe Royle basked in the occasion and walked ahead of him..he pushed him forward as if to say come on Joe you deserve this. He was a true one off ,the game needed Cloughie as England boss.
Although I was 4 when he retired I miss him in this world at the moment. You will never see another one speaking the. Truth on British TV like him and there will never be another Cloughie. R.I.P
Another excellent candid & sometime hilarious inside story from a very good keeper & down to earth bloke. One of the best podcasts on here. BC was an absolute genius at man-management & psychology.
Thanks Mark, for sharing that. Me and my mates were howling with laughter. Brilliantly told... it’s like Cloughy were in the room... thanks.. needed that.
Brilliant, love any Cloughie stories but especially from core Forest players. Was in the Kop for the towering header goal, Hell of a career. Mark you're class act.!!!
Best podcast ever I must of listened to it over 25 time's, shit house bang on form and has cloughies impression down to a t but the star of show is Mr Brian Howard Clough may he rest in peace with the rest of the football god's!!!
Saw him at Forest at the end, hugging a kissing the player's, obviously he was a piss head, red cheeks and nose, but he was the greatest manager England never had, absolute legend no one better
The corporatisation of all sport has completely ruined things for me as a spectator. I still love my beloved Radiers and West Bromwich Albion; but there's way too much showbiz and histrionics from the players. Personalities like Cloughie, Malcolm Alison, Big Ron and the like are gone and never to return along with the sheer excitment.
One Cloughie story I found funny was told by Stuart Pearce in his autobiography... Forest were heading back from an away game, Cloughie made the driver pull off the M1 towards East Midlands Airport, instructed the driver to stop within viewing distance of the Airport and Cloughie said 'Look Skipper, we'll be there in a few weeks, give it a wave'
Unless you have millions forget it, plus from football point of view they can stick the money money money Premier up their canyon. Even the Div2-Div1-Champ.-Prem 2 whatever, is just about money. Real football is in the lower leagues & more enjoyable.
We need a proper film or series about clough which has input from his family and from the lads who played under him and the influence he had on their career and their lives. Such a funny character but arguably had the greatest footballing story ever, up there with Leicester
I'm sorry, Leicester was a great achievement, but this man's achievements outdo anyone, promotion, then first division beating an outstanding Liverpool side that were champions European champions and fa cup finalists, then following that up with two European cups and a league cup thrown in, it'll never be emulated.
Brian Clough was quite simply the best manager of ALL TIME. His man management was far superior to anyone else. He did things that you wouldn't realise at the time was the best for you. Youd only realise months later. Top top manager. Btw crossley a sound guy man hes good mates n drinking partner with David Hirst ex wednesday
Sometimes when I need cheering up, I search for Mark Crossley stories about Cloughie... guaranteed to put a smile on your face
😁 I'm exactly the same John, these stories and Bob Mortimers stories on would I lie to you. Just great funny stories told brilliantly. 👍🏻

That bit about Gemmill as a linesman is literally pure gold! Crossley has a professionals comedic timing no doubt
Class that was, you can get misty eyed dwelling on Cloughie, definitely reminds you of something we've lost, not just the man but a whole way of life
Mark Crossley presents as an absolute gentleman in this podcast. Brilliant.
Mark Crossley was one of our best goalies.Cloughie obviously loved him too as he had so many nicknames for him!
Mark crossley has some brilliant Cloughy stories ,but the Craig Bromfield interview will bring you close to tears, what a class act Clough and the whole family were

Brian Clough you are so badly missed RIP
Cloughie was incomparable and is irreplaceable. The more I hear his interviews and stories about him; the better I understand why the vast majority of his players loved him and still do to this day. Crossley's impression of Cloughie is absolute class.
Absolutely the greatest football miracle ever was what Cloughie did at Forest! I loved the fella
I could listen to Cloughie stories all day everyday.......anybody who tells them must know they were a gift from the big man himself
Mark Thompson love your comment 👍
They are so much better when someone puts the Cloughie voice on too haha
Aside the Saunders story which Alan Hill claimed was 90% bullshit. I know who I'm inclined to believe. I could listen to Mark Crossley tell Clough stories all day. In fact, I have been.

I fucking love Crossley's impression. He fucking nails it.
Yeah fookin' this, and fookin' fookin' that, I fookin' fookin' fookin' fookin'...
Non stop laughter from start to finish. It's amazing hearing what a man-manager he was.
That's the most fun I've had for ages. Mark Crossley is a brilliant raconteur.
No, youi're wrong, he was a goalkeeper, not a raconteur. I think you're thinking of Thomas Muller.
Could listen to Crossley all day.
Superb hour well spent listening to tales of Cloughie. What a legend 👍🏼
Watched loads of these through the lockdown but this one is pure gold dust .. literally got tears streaming down my face .. isn’t there a video to go with it anywere ? Brilliant

Yeah totally agree - the men at the FA made the biggest mistake not appointing Cloughie as England boss when they had the chance
This is the best episode of a Podcast I have ever heard..........just brilliant lads.........keep up the brilliant work
My cousin is Steve Hodge who played for cloughie twice. He says exactly the same and has some truly memorable stories.
Has he still got Maradonas shirt?

I was in the Trent end when Mark made some unbelievable saves. I remember💖
Outstanding!

Football just isn't the same. In some ways,it might be for the better but not many. Great listen.

One Cloughie story I found funny was told by Stuart Pearce in his autobiography...

4:02 didn’t finish the story, but Cloughie used to call him Jigsaw becoz ‘he went to pieces in the box!’
Class.
I'm an evertonian and I'd love forest to get back up
We were linked Brian Clough in the 70’s. Ended up with Gordon Lee. Typical Everton.
