Hey Maggie! Yes, I can't wait to try out all of the the things with the clay! I've always made permanent decorations, so what a great idea! Working on a few videos this week, need to hurry as it's midweek already! 🤣
Well, hello Gail, I am unfortunately still in the hospital but on the mend, hoping to get kicked out the next Wednesday. I’m glad I got to see a video of yours today. It took some of the boredom away. You got some really great things. I love that jar. I think that’s called mercury glass I have a couple pieces of it and the light shines through pretty good with some good strong lights inside. I think there’s lots of opportunity to decorate that up. Nice on the outside maybe some of your fabulous glitters! I also love the stencil you got it reminds me of an old time crocheted doily pattern. you’re probably too young to remember those I see something made with that for Christmas but I’m sure you’ll come up with something fabulous for it. I like that you’re looking to make some multimedia stuff as you know clay can mix with anything. That glass is just right for a fabulous transparent extravaganza piece. I think you will have fun with all the lovely things you have chosen!🩷💕 take care looking forward to see what new treasures you make!
Hi Ellie, I'm so sorry you're still sick! I hope you're out of hospital when you get this message! I remember the doilies! Sadly, I am old enough to remember them, I'm a late 70's girl, my birthday is next month! But yes at Christmas the doilies were everywhere! I'm working on a Halloween videos for a few videos, then on to some more weird things I can think of 🤣 I hope you're getting better! x
It's a stencil of a crocheted doily, and it's called a "pineapple" pattern! Pineapples were considered a symbol of hospitality in colonial (US) times because being imported, they were very dear (expensive) and serving it to your guests or giving one as a gift was a high honor. It's a super popular pattern, and I've crocheted many (with thread) incorporating beads and such. Btw, I love spiders! Lol!✌️🫶😊
Ahh. That's it! I love some trivia! I've seen some people crocheted these. It looks incredibly complicated! Is that the one where you have what looks like little sticks and weave them? I'm not a fan of spiders, put I'll out them outside, alive, if they stand still 🤣 if they're running... so am I 🤣
Wouldn’t the clay stick to the wood with the liquid clay rubbed on the wood first the place your piece on over the liquid clay and wood. I would think it would. But then I think alot of things. 🤣🤣🤣 love the silver jar and giving how light that silver is the lights would show through it I’m thinking. I also think way too much. Ok enough of my thinking. Love the rest of the goodies love the mandolin, and I can see a lot of fun for ya in the next week. lol tfs hugs from across the pond.
I've found that liquid clay absorbs in to the wood, but i'm certainly going to try it! Lots of projects for the future, working on something different for this week's video 😀
