Great shave with the 99R. I've got one and find it a little on the aggressive side - too easy to get the odd nick/cut. Which I can't accept on a work day so the DE89 is best for me. The 99R is another great product from Parker and at a great price. Thanks for the videos, always excellent.

@Nathan Dillon Yes I am in Thailand. You can buy them on Lazada if u don't mind the prices. But for me I bought the vintage ones on Ebay. Remember if the seller rating on Ebay is less than 97% don't buy from that seller just buy from others that have more than 97% rating. Also remember that Thai customs are killer here. So make sure that your Item value is less than 1,000 Thai Baht. For the local stores I saw them selling new ones (not famous brand/unheard of it) in Central department stores in Thailand.

Used a Parker 94r this morning along with the Body shop Maca Root shave cream. I find that Maca root cream to be really good, lathers great and super slick. They've actually replaced it with a new formula in the UK and added in Aloe Vera, haven't used the new formula but heard its not quite as good. Great shave.
The difference between the black/silver and the yellow feather blade packs is the former is a 5 pack and the latter is a 10 pack, that's all. Parker butterfly razors are the best of the cheaper butterfly razors, without a doubt. I've got a few and I do like them, great razors!
BiC Chrome Platinum start out sharp, and seem to be sharper on their second and third uses. Some say they are sharper on their second use than a Feather on the first use.
What a fun video! (I would agree that the Bic is a nice blade, the Parker a nice razor.) Loved the Sinatra stuff--I read both volumes of James Kaplan's bio of him, and I don't read two volume bios of just anyone. I have to point out that in the first picture he appears to be using--quelle horreur--an electric razor, but sure enough, he's enjoying a morning donut with the aftershave behind him. Thanks for the vid!
Macca is a root from Peru. Yes it's available in the US. Are those bic blades made in Thailand or Greece. Those Gillette thins should be nice...... I clean the razors w dish soap and brush dry em. Then douse them w alcohol. Cheers mate
Picked up a bunch of Gillette Super Thins at a flea market some years ago; probably the most scratchy and uncomfortable shave I've ever had with a DE blade! Hope you have better luck with 'em.
@@SinatraLennon maybe😋😉a guy sent me a pass it forward package today from a wetshaving forum, i always thought i was the only South African wetshaver! He also sent a variety of shaving soaps and creams including South African soap and maca root shaving cream. Its my first time testing any blades besides the lion blades i got, im really excited!
Great package! What about a video about the best shaving kits in amazon? Those that includes shaving razor, brush, soap and a bowl? Keep making great content!
I don’t have it yet, but I always wanted the Parker Varient adjustable .you should check it out And I only have one brush , it’s my synthetic tuxedo knot I got for like 30 bucks
Btw a lot of ppl say the 99R is a pretty aggressive Razor for a closed comb. I didn't use mine yet . Would you agree that it's an aggressive Razor? I think with a lot of people mean that it's a medium aggressive razor or just above medium. Either way with a good sharp blade it looks very efficient looks like the whiskers are coming off effortlessly
I’ve seen you use this Parker 99R in quite a few of your videos. Have you used any other Parker razors? I’ve been looking at the 26C because it’s open comb and was wondering how aggressive it is compared to this and compared to the Merkur 34C (not sure if you’ve don’t a video with that one or not).
In regards to boiling, I personally don't recommend putting the razor IN the pan that's boiling the water. If the razor is sitting on the bottom of the pan it will see MUCH more heat transfer due to he heat from the stove, through the metal, TO the razor will be higher than 212deg. I put my razor in a hot water safe dish, then poured boiling water on top of it.
I am a bit confused between Parker 99R & Bombay Shaving Company razor. Since you have used both, pls suggest which one's better as both are almost equally priced in India. I have shifted to DE razors since around a month & used the Gillette's 7 o clock plastic to just give it a try. Been on Gillette's fusion 5 blade cartridge razor till then & was never happy with lining up. So shifted to DE.
Go for the Parker 99R. It’s a butterfly razor twist to open, which is great, and it shaves so well. It’s more aggressive, but if you take care while shaving with it, you’ll get a smooth shave every time.
Hey mr. Lennon ... I sport the beard but my neck grows pretty far down would you recommend the safety razor to take it off or would that be over kill and should I just use the good old disposable ones?
I read before that Sinatra liked Yardley English Lavender and when it became unavailable or hard to find, he switched to Antonio Puig Agua Lavanda. As cologne. Not saying he didn’t use this aftershave. Just in case you want the full Sinatra smell.
SinatraLennon, I've always used cartridge razors, but I've finally used a safty razor and I'll never go back to a cartridge razor again can you please advise some good shape blades that last at least 3 or 4 shaves?

i like razors too Sinatra Im Jeffrey. i shave every day i get haircuts once a month im a lonely guy thanks for the videos i use electric razor s and disposable razors. i go get a haircut and i do it myself once a month
I’d say the Parker 99r I use in this video is a great buy at $25-30. It’s well made and should last years. It shaves well too! Other cheap DE razors don’t shave as well. I also like that it’s a twist to open razor, so no fumbling with two and three piece razors.
Ok great I will definitely try that the cartridge razor tare my neck up alot. What kind of a razor blade do u recommend for that safety razor? I saw the bic looked like it worked pretty well
Purchased my third fatboy. The fatboy market isn't super kind the prices vary between $60-80 right now. If you add a case, the price easily goes up by $70-100
I'm new to the game.. Any stuff you wanna send I'll gladly pay shipping.. My wife said I can't spend any more money because I just bought a dovo lol.. If your serious just let me know how to contact you
Hi SinatraLennon😀. I don't think boiling is a good practice. It can damage certain platings more easily. Even if you don't have much plating on it use soap like dish washing ones and a old tooth brush. Don't washing razors very often. Maybe once a year if it is plated. If it is stainless steel then you could do it very often as they don't have platings and are very strong.
After looking at those pics of ol blue eyes ...it's either a gillette slim adjustable or fatboy...by the width of the handle alone I'd bet on it being the fatboy AND another pic of the shaving cream he used was none other than....wait for it....BARBASOL. ..clearly by the stripes coming from the top....so you've been using Sinatras shaving gear of choice all this time...well done!
