I am writing a paper on Guillermo Del Toro's style and videos like this really show you how intricate yet consistent he is throughout several of his movies. Amazing editing job!
'The Works' has gotten so ridiculously good since it came back I honestly wish they were twice as long. Have you considered maybe stretching the episodes up? Fantastic work, as always.. Pleasant surprise to see Pacific Rim in there as well.
Mann and Russell could definitely be future possibilities. However, as I've stated in the past, I will not be giving "The Works" treatment any of the directors already featured in Kees van Dijkhuizen's [the films of] series.
Satoshi Kon- The Works. Not a prolific Anime director, (i.e. Miyazaki) but one who's own personal flare for psychological theatrics would be great for a Joel Walden edit.
Woody Allen - The Works. I know it sounds like a monster of a request, but if anybody here can do it, it's you. Hell, you don't even have to compile all his movies in to just ONE video (By Decade, perhaps?)
Hey man, can you do The Works of the following: David Fincher, Ridley Scott, Kathryn BIgelow, Ang Lee, Michael Mann, Peter Jackson, Clint Eastwood, Paul Greengrass, Robert Altman, Oliver Stone, Peter Weir, Gus Van Sant, Alexander Payne, Stephen Daldry, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Steven Soderbergh, PLEASE DO ALL OF THESE PICKS. THANK YOU!!!
Great job, and...what happens with classical directors like: O.Welles B. Wilder Robert Siodmak Vittorio De Sicca I. Bergman John Huston Luis Buñuel ...
Congratulations to Del Toro for winning the Oscar for Best Picture and Director for The Shape of Water!!
This SERIOUSLY makes me wonder/wish how THE HOBBIT would have turned out under Guillermo.
One of the best director of the 20th century!!!
*21th
Absolutely beautiful. Guillermo de torrent is amazing. His movies are so painful and dramatic. I love it.
Excellent filmography! Love the inclusion of Pacific Rim.
I am writing a paper on Guillermo Del Toro's style and videos like this really show you how intricate yet consistent he is throughout several of his movies. Amazing editing job!
I love all his movies in English and Spanish they are so beautiful made and painfully human :)
And Joel wept, for there were no filmmakers left to conquer. Good stuff, man. Glad to see "The Works" up and running again.
One of the best movie directors
The show is most definitely worth watching.
He really likes monsters so that's why thy all look so cool because he knows how to do them right
Beautiful! Del Toro is one of my absolute favorite directors! Great work!
I love how you use quotes from the foreign language films with english subtitles.
DAMN NO!
i love The Works series i dont want any of this videos to be removed.
i cant even dislike it.
Here's one of my personal favorite directors working today. I still think he should have been allowed to finish his Hellboy trilogy!
'The Works' has gotten so ridiculously good since it came back I honestly wish they were twice as long. Have you considered maybe stretching the episodes up? Fantastic work, as always.. Pleasant surprise to see Pacific Rim in there as well.
I just started it as well!
Loving it so far.
First show I've really connected with in a long time.
It feels great to revisit some of his works. Beautiful composition!
Thank you Joel, for telling me of this Kees person. I thank you for that, and your works. You are one awesome son of a gun.
Seemed like a good excuse to finally start watching the show (considering I'm nine years behind on that).
Fantastic work my friend and it was a pleasure to be a part of.
Very well edited Joel. Nice work!

Pacific Rim already? Man, you're the best!!
Fanyastic job. How about thematic montages across film, like "rage moments", "great villains" or even a feeling, like "mother instinct"?
You missed "The Orphanage" otherwise this is a great tribute, long live Master del Toro...
Great job as usual, Joel! If "logical choice" means a J.J. Abrhams video, I'm in!
"Pilots ready to connect!" GLADOES?!! is that you? =D
Yup, that's Ellen McLain (voice of GLaDOS) as the voice of the Jeager AI. del Toro cast her because he loved playing Portal so much.
yeah an other vote for David Lynch - The Works, this is AWESOME
This was awesome!
Keep in mind he only directed the Pilot. He was mostly a producer for the whole series.
You really should do a Robert Zemeckis - The Works. You're an absolutely fantabulous editor.
"The 'logical' choice"- I'm going to guess J.J. Abrams.
