He Set Me Free was written in October of 1971. It was written in French. The first verse and chorus came to me when I had mania after my heroine withdrawals ended. The second verse was written by Howard Goodman and my father wrote the last verse.
I was mistaken about who wrote the last verse. Mark Trammell and his family came from Detroit on a surprise visit. He wrote the last visit.
I am upset that the copyright was stolen for He Set Me Free. The wording of the second verse (written by my brother Mark Trammell) was changed. The original translation made by my mother was: Naught of this world CAN turn me around. Flemish uses the word CAN to indicate an emphatic verb tense. The word change is offensive to anyone who is a fluent speaker of Flemish!!
The song I heard was written in 1939 by Albert E. Brumley and copyright by Stamps Baxter Music and Printing Company in Gospel Tide . It's on page 235 of my Red Back church hymnal .

I was saved December 6th 2012. It was testimony time at school. several students were sharing how they got saved that year at school. it bothered me, that I did not feel the same Joy they did. I began thinking back through my childhood. I knew what salvation was, but I realized I had never accepted Jesus Christ as my savior at a time I could remember. the next day after class, I went in a side room and did just that. I got on my knees ask Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins, and accepted him as Lord and savior of my life. Anyone else want to share their testimony?

l was born in a christian family and went to church from my child Hood. l joined the choir and do every thing. I even got baptized in 2011, but i had not really Believed that i'm saved yet, because i always felt Guilty, and was not Sure i will go to Heaven because i was not perfect yet and not righteous in my thoughts and my behaviors , for this i couldn't feel Happy&free and couldn't understand why some Christians seem to be joyful&always thank JESUS Christ for the salvation. it really didn't make sense to me (the Interest of Jesus Cruciffication). but i met my friend and He explained to me this fact (JOHN 3:16) "(whoever believes in Jesus Christ shall not perish but have eternal life, and God sees me Righteous trough Jesus'blood, though I'm still pressing on to be perfect). That's when i first Really BELIEVED, so I'm now Free, Righteous , Joyful , Peaceful, in The Holy spirit, and it was 20 years going to church, While this Happened last year 2018/November that's when i was really saved.
I was read raised in a Christian home and made a profession at the age of five, but I did not understand what I was doing. Fast forward to when I was fifteen and switched Christian schools. The kids at the new school wanted to live for Christ. I was miserable. I was taking a shower on Monday, March 11, 1996 when God spoke to me and said like I was being washed on the outside I needed to be washed on the inside. I got down on my knees right there and asked Jesus into my heart. What an awesome God we serve.

Haven’t heard this song since Pop Scott did it on Sunday mornings during Gene Scott’s Service from Kings House 1 and later on from the Downtown Los Angeles Cathedral in the old United Artists Theatre at 9th & Broadway. After Pop passed away Gene would sometimes play it on video recording but after Gene passed away I have never heard it again til now. Thank you for the posting of this wonderful hymn also for Victory In Jesus. 🤠🎶

This is my favorite song. My church sings from the red book for choir, and mainly sings southern gospel songs. They sing a lot of songs from the Gaither's. And all the youth there loves it more then the Contemporary stuff.
