I recently caught the Gaithers on UA-cam. And now I'm hooked. I've always enjoyed "church" music but the gospel music I've been enjoying watching the Gaithers just warms my soul immensely.
I, too, am hooked. I didn't know a song my choir was going to sing and I was referred to Jessy Dixon on UA-cam and have gotten to "meet" so many wonderful musicians in the Gaither family that have helped me through the Pandemic.
Me!! I just cant get enough Southern gospel! It really is sad that we have lost so many of the beautiful singers we love. But we can be assured they’re in a better place 😇

Vestal was just one of the guys! They sang with her and treated her like an6th equal!! Women singing in quartets was unusual. But their were a few women who were accepted and she was one of them!! Very respected!!
George Younce's voice was amazing. So many great singers in this performance. Loved seeing David Phelps (min 1:16) in the background shake his head in amazement as George was singing in his deepest voice. Jake's smile was uplifting and his voice brought the entire audience into a real happy place. I'm just recently hooked on many of the Gaither Vocal Band performances on UA-cam.

So many have gone on to their reward.. but we sure miss them but these recordings are wonderful.and so inspiring they make me want to live a much much closer to jesus and a better life. With Gene Scott? I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, but didn’t Gene Scott become an oddball of sorts around the 70’s or 80’s when he went off the deep end? He started wearing all kinds of goofy hats and smoking cigars on stage. If it’s the same Gene Scott I remember when I’d see him on his own television station in California. I wonder if he ever got back on the right track. He was a very brilliant man. I believe he wrote a ten-year tenure for the Assemblies of God Denomination.
