    Totally appreciate the ‘slide-closed access’ feature of your videos! Being unable to access bed or bathroom with the slide closed is an absolute deal breaker for us, so thanks for including that info! Re: the sofa- definitely jackknife, easy to make into a bed type for us 👍🏻

    Someone who goes RVing was involved in this design. Those night lights were brilliant. We do like the pet friendly aspects of this floor plan. The mini laundry basket is pretty cool. Thanks for showing the road mode stop. This is a pretty cool model.

    They have some really great and unique ideas in this layout. Love the dog friendly parts, love the layout under the bed. Would prefer theatre seating though. Since it is so small and basically a couples unit, they could gain some extra space for the kitchen/bath by totally eliminating the banquette and instead putting a table against the wall/window with two nice chairs there. Then if you have company visit, you could turn those chairs to face the other seating for a nice visit.

    I really like this Floorplan for a couples weekend getaway. I would however prefer to see a theater seat in that space. The underbed storage is awesome, I like what they did there. I especially like the "hidden fishing pole" Storage in the pass thru lol. Only drawbacks for me is lack of storage in the kitchen and the not so fluffy friendly space around the toilet, But over-all a very nice camper for sure

    OK so if you remember me from numerous previous comments, I'm not a fan of slide outs. I feel the more moving parts not to mention the seals the more the chance of issues. Now there adding appliances to them that really scares me. Propane lines to refrigerator and stove??? I do love this layout all the down sides i can live with. Bathroom is tight but I'm not spending lots of time there. Tall side walls and vaulted ceiling ++++ as well as asdell . You may not like this!!!! but you need to have Bishs web developer create a search page that allows customers to select options easily. I know some may think im crazy but id love to be able to pick size ( maybe based on tow vehicle and yes i know that varies from one 1/2 ton to another but possibly 1/2 ton towable or large SUV ETC ), build materials, ( Wood, aluminum, with or without asdell, solar ready or equipped, Bunk house or no bunks, slides etc. To sum it up Id love to be able to build my camper and see what manufactures have what i want kind of close then have a page listing them to look at. For the lack of better terms I'm loosing my mind trying to find something without being able to compare them without doing several searches. I have watched sooooo many of your videos that when i find what I want I'm driving up there from South East Missouri to but it just to make sure your time spent doing all these videos is appreciated.

      Something to keep in mind: Appliances in slide is standard practice in fifth wheels. Has been for years. It's really nothing new. Sometimes it seems to spook folks in travel trailers
      But there's nothing wrong with no-slides as well. i try to showcase plenty of them where possible

      As they evolve I'm sure they will. They hear people loud and clear. But most of their models currently have slide dead above a wheel well.. can't floor-flush a theater seat THRU a wheel well.
      But they're working on solutions

    Always liked this floorplan mainly because of that rear kitchen and especially the windows in this design. Still haven't made up my mind on the flip up bed storage. Great competition for the Cougar 22MLS, and the Imagine 22MLE. The light colors make it feel roomy. I have my phone with me constantly, so the best charger spots for me would be next to the sofa, and beside the bed.

    👏👏👏👏well done. Must have recliners, sometimes can’t stay in bed past 3am because of back pain. You talk about pets; we’re not pet haters, but don’t live with them, other than each other, but that’s different. Josh you should be careful about backing up in a RV, those fire extinguishers will trip you then you’ll be saying nothings broke; except my arm😆😆. Your microwave/soup/bowl speech is exactly why I keep saying more counter space please! Thank you. Netted space has to go, needs a door and again why no splash guard at the stove? But I'm loving this layout and that underbed storage is totally amazing. I know this is 10 months ago but still hope we see more like this. Don't like the plastic bathroom sink or the true door, takes up too much space imo. I would prefer theater seats, unless I was planning on camping with a kid.... Fold out sofa better then breaking down the table to bed every night! And bummer there's no breeze window in the slide. But I LOVE that bed lift.
    Cougar gets my vote!

    Cool new hat. The dinette is kind of a waste of space, I'd turn that in to a full time dog bed. I do like the door side window though, it's bigger than the mail slot windows that a lot of manufacturers put in if the kitchen is on that wall. I really like the storage arrangement under the bed. I really wish they'd flip the spots for the kitchen and the bathroom keeping the layouts the same.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому

      Every brand has a little different way about the entry doors. Some do NO window. Some have the frosty glass for light + privacy. Some have a full window with no shade/privacy. Some do the full window with a shade BUT you cannot adjust the shade without opening the door and screen door
      Each has benefits over the other. Each brand targets what they think works best

    theatre seats for me personally would be better most of the time, however this couch is perfectly acceptable.... it would not make an important enough difference to order or ship in the other version, i would take the one with couch as it is, still has the foot rests which is main concern of theatre seats, i never been one to actually recline in a recliner very often... but i am likely to lay across the couch while watching tv...so maybe this would be better for this one over theatre seats

    Like this a lot. Love the corner kitchen & microwave placement. Love lthe light wood floors & overall brightness, pet friendly, big shower etc. While package has a lot of appeal. Do they offer an upgraded solar package? Also do any trailers/ rvs offer on demand water heaters either gas OR electric. Industry is way overdue for a total elec package what with a lot of the energy efficiencies reached over the last two decades.

    I agree, move the control/ monitor face over, create a couple narrow shelves with 1 USB/12V plug (they come in a pair with two USB slots under a cap and 1 12V plug under a cap) per shelf. Great place for a charging station, and it still leaves (actually expands the top shelf) shelf and upper portion of the cabinet for other storage.

(by the way...my cat watches your videos with me...he hears your voice and he jumps up and sits on the side of me to watch. 🐱lol) And love the storage area underneath the bed. I like the fact that it has solid steps, a bigger shower for us fluffy people and a bigger tv. Also gives you an option for different couches. That is a plus. I love the way they have done the under bed storage. I think it would be improved if they mirrored the drawers and clothes basket niche for a his and hers setup. The space in the middle also looks like it could handle a small ottoman or two that could be used for extra seating when the grandkids come along.
    I also like the sensor lights near the floor for getting up in the middle of the night. If they aren't able to be turned off I would add my own switch as it looks like there is easy access to the wiring and plenty of places nearby to mount a switch.

    Love these videos! We are researching getting a travel trailer and your videos are my favorite!
    I’d go for the theater seats since you already have a dinette.
    Definitely think the tv swing arm could use some work and I agree there should be a slide door for the bathroom.
    I’m always looking for these small travel trailers that fit a taller person as my husband is 6’5!

    There are many things I like about this one especially the under bed storage layout but….not a fan of having the bathroom that close to the kitchen. The real deal breaker for me is the 33 gallon gray tank. You can always add water to the fresh but once the gray is full you’re done.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd

      Totally Fair. I park camp mostly so tank sizes aren't quite as big a deal to me. I don't mind just quick dumping a grey as needed

    I really like this floor plan. Those little floor lights are great. I like the sofa that is shown. Tv placement is good. If I was redesigning it, I’d open the back of that first dinette seat near the door and add a shoe tray to set my shoes inside. I like the under bed storage. 5 stars for that. Not having a kitchen trash can storage is unfortunate but since the bathroom is right there, putting the trash can in front of the door will work. It can be stashed in the shower when not in use. I like the long rod or rifle storage that is separate from the main storage. All in all, it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

    For not much more money and a bit more weight I think I'll probably go for the Rockwood 2506S. Twice the grey tank size and an actual separate bedroom so I can watch TV while my wife goes off to bed. Tho, I really do like the little things like those motion activated night lights but I could always add them. Now just need to sell my 2018 Coachmen 23TQX hybrid now that my kids don't want to camp with us anymore!

    Love the interior height!! Interesting that it appears that the bed blocks the door. I understand the bed lifts, but it's not really a Murphy bed. Seems awkward. I would like drawers or bins under the dinette. I think the pet dishes are cute, but for one that doesn't have a pet, this seems like a total waste. I would rather have the storage like the other side. Agreed on plug height underneath. I like the wraparound kitchen, with some disclaimers. I would say though, the kitchen drawers would work better on the right. Shift the sink left. The drawers interfere with the bathroom door. (You could do deeper drawers too on the right.) Another cabinet door over the stove would make more sense than the netting. I love the storage in the bathroom, but I would need elbow room. This doesn't work for me. (Rough start Josh. Too funny.) (I have said way too much. LOL)

    I really like the overall floor plan. The problem is the bathroom. The toilet has to have room to be usable. I am 6' 2" and a big guy. If you can't chicken wing around the toilet it is too small.
    I love the rest. The one thing I didn't hear about is the warranty. Is it junk and I am better off with a used option?
    I want as much as possible fof boondocking. I love the rosd mode and the height.

    Josh: If wife and I were inclined to get a slideout trailer (we’re not), this might be a contender with the Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE. She hits ALL the key parameters like the XLS 22MLE except one; she’s too high to fit thru the barn door. She’s got dual axel, aluminum frame and fiberglass body, and with the fixed dinette, it’s fully usable in road mode. Shortcomings are the inward facing drawers under the bed. Really like the fact that you showed how to pull the top kitchen drawer out an lock the murder hobo in the head until the police come. Where’s Coachmen’s signature UUUUU-tensil drawer under the sink? Is she backup/monitor camera ready? She looks like it. Respectfully, W.S.

    This is another camper on my possible purchase list. I love all of extra room around the bed, wish the end of the bed wasn’t so close to the door. I would keep the sofa, and they need to move the charging station. What type of free floating legs do you recommend for the dinette table? I agree the the outlets in the dinette area should be higher. I like where they put the microwave. The windows by the sink are nice, 12v refrigerator is the way to go. I love all of the storage space, both inside and outside. Especially the lightsaber storage, how deep is that cabinet?
    Thank you for everything you show and tell us in your videos.
    This one and the Cougar 22MLS are tied for first. If only I could take what I like from each one to create the perfect camper for my retirement.

    Theater seating all the way. Unless you have midget friends(can i say that) or tiny children, nobody is going to sleep on that sofa-bed and if they do...they won't sleep on it another night. Maybe that's the idea?
    Knee knocker dinette? Come on man! So many better options.
    I think I would leave the bed up unless it is bed time as it appears to impede your ingress and egress space. Or is it entrance and exit space?
    In the words of Matt, " That's a $104 laundry basket".
    The kitchen is minimal at best. There's virtually no cabinet space the way it's broken up. That's fine for a weekend but not so good for longer stays.
    My wife likes to sleep with the TV on so that placement is rough.
    I really prefer a little more room around the toilet. And "That's a $104 trash can".
    "No ladder" just comes off as being chintzy. It saves them money and I'm pretty sure they aren't passing those savings along. I climb on the roof several times a month to make sure things are good and carrying an extension ladder on a camping trip is silly
    Ventless floor is great for me because we don't do much cold camping and our furnace is rarely used.
    Tall ceilings in this one are nice. The bed area is not bad.
    How much does a tankless water heater add to the cost of an RV? I just think that makes so much more sense in today's world than the old fashioned propane things that I had in my 1970s model.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure on the cost of tankless or what the comparative cost may be. I just don't see parts sheets regularly to have a good feel for that. We could get a quote for a client of course.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому

      Actually... I think they do still build it. It's just called "Open Range 376FBH" -- the "Roamer" name was dropped and then repurposed. I simply haven't had any in stock wherever I've gone to record.
      It looks like we have two locations in Montana that carry highland ridge though they're stock looks to be pretty painfully limited currently with only 2 of their fifth wheels on hand nationwide
      So it's not impossible that I'll get some updated footage sometime

    Your take on the various options of this niche, 22', with great features have me really thinking that this could be the one! I am 6'4" and the tall ceiling is brilliant, combined with great decent interior storage. Outside is a compromise, but then, the ability with a shorter RV than J imagined, to reserve space in more campgrounds that limit length make this glorious in its own right. Then there is the pending 22' Ember. Hmmmm... if it is tall enough.... Big note to me about chosing between refrigerators. I want space, but finally rented an RV and was so shocked at how efficient the propane cooling mode was. I WOULD LOVE A MODEL THAT WOULD FIT ONE 12V and ONE TWO-WAY! I have to be weird!!! I am a mechanical engineer and have ideas!

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 роки тому

      Yeah that's why 2-way fridges are still so popular in boondock-focused areas. On propane they use nearly zero battery power. JUST enough to keep the circuit board running in the fridge

    • @alantittle299
      @alantittle299 2 роки тому

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Yep. I like as much space as possible but that propane cyle sure gets the job done, albeit a bit slow to peak. It took a few nights to get the living pattern down in not only my first RV experience but boondocking in virtual semi-wilderness with a generator and mismanaging limitations of the various tanks. Only needed one more trip to a "station" but truck stops showers contributed. The full advantage of 9 nights in an RV for the first time was enlightening and satisfying.

      @@JoshtheRVNerd One other thing about power management! Since you have the ear of the manufacturers and represent our interests well, how about in addition to a small solar battery maintenance package, someone that parks under a cover could benefit from a similar grade of wind turbine. You would clearly need to put it down for travel but a breeze flowing under an RV port across a modest vertical turbine scroll would do what solar could not. Engineer at work.

      Specs look decent. Without question you'll have to have a good brake controller and anti-sway/load leveling hitch system. Those are all pretty common stock
      In mostly flatlanding areas you'll likely find the pairing okay. Your truck may feel a bit "weak" if you really try to push higher speeds. 65 max on highways is plenty though
      And if you tow in high wind areas or in mountains, then the truck may struggle a bit. It's hard to say exactly how they'll behave

      Even as a tall person I often ask the same

      Which makes me miss the days of mid-mounted microwaves you just never see anymore
