Guys, this is The All Time Favorite of many. I am a 721/2 yr old grt grandmother and you managed to bring me back to wonderful times-50's. Thank you. Best of All Time! Deb
You will probably never see this, but I wanted to tell you how well done and well timed for me this is. My father passed away a few weeks ago. He was a musician that performed at a dinner theater here in AZ. He was KNOWN for this song (it even played on a local radio station for a couple of years). The timing of this is very touching. Well done, and thank you for putting this out there.
What a glorious rendition of Unchained Melody. I'm 74 and perhaps other than the Righteous Brothers, I am quite certain I've never heard it performed better. Thank you for the moments of peace and joy you bring.
This is a song that has been done so often that it's almost cliché. That being said, this has got to be the best rendition I've heard. Those smooth vocals are like being dipped in warm honey.
As a 74 yo man, I have heard this song countless times by a number of performers, and this is as good as I have heard. You guys conveyed the soulfulness better then anyone else I can think of. Bravo! The Righteous Brothers' rendition was the benchmark for such a long time. I think it has now been replaced.
Do you as a singing group ever get goosebumps when you listen to yourselves? I got major goosebumps today, especially when you hit those high notes. You boys are absolutely amazing!!😢❤❤❤
I had an aunt who was a quadraplegic. She passed away a long time ago. My reason for telling you this, is, that she was in love with this song. She would weep listening to it and would tell me how lucky I was that I would live life and get married and have children. I loved her dearly, I grew up with her. She had a zest for life that I have never met another person with the same zest. She was one of those people that could brighten a room with her smile. Her name was Angela, but I used to call her Lila. This rendition of the song was superb and brought back many lovely memories. I trully wish I could have shown her this breath-taking rendition. Well done gentlemen! Bravo! Trully, I wept listening to it. Bravo, a thousand times bravo.
what a moving, bittersweet story! Thank you for sharing. Sometimes songs can just cue us into memories, of people or places we associate with them. My best friend in high school loved "Dream Weaver" by Gary Wright...she died in an accident my senior year...but whenever I hear that song, or one or two others, I think of her, and it's been almost 40 years.
@@joyfulyes Thank you for your kind words. My aunt passed away 30 years ago but she is still alive in my memories and she taught me to fight and never give up. I hope your friend brought much joy to your life and that her memory lives in with you. Blessings.
John was partway through the first syllable of the song when I realized his voice was perfect for it. He sounds so classic and true to the style of the original. Can't wait for the world to hear him when it premieres. Oh, and that moment in the final lap when you think he's a-gonna go down, but he a-goes up instead... Standing ovation. (Me in my living room clapping by myself at the computer screen.)
@Alexandria Hauser Wow, two replies in about as many minutes! "or we do it because we want everyone to know quarantine means we have no friends to clap alone with." Yeah, that's sad...maybe in the not too distant future, if 70% get vaccinated, that might change. Until then, not so much, although I guess there's no reason you couldn't have vaccinated close friends over at that point, still not a 100% guarantee, but with proper protocol adherence, probably pretty darned close. The one thing I keep thinking is I'm glad this virus is basically toothless (obviously not for those that have lost people, but in general, death rate wise). Can you imagine if this happened with an Ebola level virus, say with a 90%-100% death rate? The only thing I can say is all the anti-masking, anti-vaxing, etc. crowd's nonsense would fade away pretty quickly.
Omg so so Amazing one of my favorite songs out there I will play this one over and over again saved it so I can listen to it. Thank you. God bless all of you. I never ever get tired of hearing it. Thank you for singing it. You are Amazing.
I maybe younger enough but I remember this song playing on my grandma's radio, they danced at this song as it's playing, they were happy until my grandpa decided to leave us. I played this at his funeral, I see everyone crying including my grandma. I take my grandma's hand and danced her until the song ends, after that she said that she feel someone hugging her after the song ends Rest in peace my dear grandpa🕊️
Thought Mr. Pinto Jr. was another whiny tenor until he took-it-up-a-notch! literally. Very nice! J None and Eli and Layne don't get enough props. Great arrangement and thank you for creating/sharing!
Not sure what you mean by "Another whiny tenor," unless you're talking about a lot of the boy bands like "Backstreet Boys," "98°" and the like, which were really big in the late 90s and early 2000s. Oy vey, don't get me started. 😅 Their tone *does* sound a bit "nasal" in quality, unlike the Broadway and opera tenors that I've personally gone mushball over, just because they can produce the "wall of sound" that the usual boy bands just don't really get into. Though I also will say one of my top favorite tenor-range singers, since I was 8, is actually a counter-tenor: Jon Anderson, formerly of Yes. For the record, a counter-tenor can technically also be classed as a male alto, because a woman in the contralto (or well-trained mezzo soprano) range can often mesh with the male counter-tenor vibe quite nicely. To me, Jon Anderson's voice is not "whiny." For his range, he sings out, sings boldly and doesn't sing the usual "Top-40, you-broke-my-heart-I'm-done-with-you" stuff by any means. Even the words of "Owner of a Lonely Heart" (Yes' other major radio hit besides "Roundabout") are spiritual and inspiring in nature if you really stop to listen. You don't get that with the usual stuff on Top 40 stations, really. Am I a singer? Yes. Tenor, no. But in terms of someone being "whiny" when singing, it's either down to the lyrics and genre, or the overall tonal quality of someone's voice. It's why I don't favor country as a genre. You wanna talk about "whiny?" Let's start with country lyrics. Ugh. 🙄
I didn't think anyone would ever come close to the Righteous Brothers. Boy, I was so wrong! This was brilliant in every way. The arrangement was beautiful as was the video production. I am blown away by John Pinto's voice! He has a new fan!! Everyone was on point with their parts. So smooth, pitch perfect, emotive, and blended seamlessly. Thank you so much for sharing your talents. Your music transports to a beautiful place💕
On a side note: I need to say you all look so stylish in this one! J.None's hat (who had it's own dressing room of course), Eli looking extra handsome, Layne my poor fella standing behind the sofa for some reason, but looking so smooth in that jacket, oh wow Geoff's shirt is amazing, I really need it - and John just takes the whole stage with his presence! John fit absolutely amazing for this cover!! I wished for so long you'd do another collab with him and.. HERE WE ARE! Thank y'all for this amazing cover and all you do! And now: Off to work on some sea shanty covers perhaps... ACA TOP 10 Sea Shanties? 👀😆
Beautiful. While listening to this, I saw a vision of my parents slow dancing with their eyes locked into each other. Dad passed in 2008, and mom later joined him in 2013. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary five months before he passed. If you were to meet them, you would think they had a platonic relationship when they were their first sweethearts and their lifelong partners who loved each other in so many different ways.
John Pinto, you are awesome. Thank you for including the lyrics. I was in my late teens when UCM came out. BEAUTIFUL & EMOTIONAL! Love the close harmony!
Damn good. Only one time has it ever been done better (just barely) and that was Bobby Hatfield's (of the Righteous Brothers) legendary live performance in 1965.
I sang this to my grandmother before she passed in her hospital bed. Her dying wish was to sing this at her funeral which she never got. This song brought cold chills and goose bumps. I wish she could of heard this version before she passed. I love you all 🖤 Thank you

There is just so much you can take, the rest you stuff down where the sun doesn't shine... 😥🙁🤯🙂

this was perfect. the righteous brothers' iconic smash hit is incredibly difficult to do justice to in a cover, but y'all hit it out of the park. john's control and intensity was balanced and perfect--he kicked it up but didn't get carried away. the arrangement is flawless, and all of your voices and harmonies work so very well together. it was delightful hearing layne sing harmony...then the beatboxing came in at the perfect moment. the whole production is simply flawless.
Absolutely the most spectacular version of this song I have ever heard. A stunning vocal performance from VoicePlay.... and John killed those highs! Brilliant!!!!!!!
